Emery Place Assisted Living & Memory Care

"A Cozy Approach to Memory Care"
Emery Place offers something unique that I haven’t seen elsewhere. It’s called ‘closer care,’ where memory care has shifted from a big warehouse to smaller pods with about 10 people each. This means consistent interaction with the same residents in a cozier setting. My husband’s area has a spacious room with tables, chairs, an activity corner, and a kitchen. The layout allows you to see everything from one spot, reducing isolation. However, like other places, they struggle to hire reliable staff. The staff here is great but inconsistent in their shifts.

"Emery: A Wonderful Home for My Mom"
My mom moved to Emery in August 2018. She absolutely loves it there. The staff is friendly, dedicated, and caring, always looking after her needs. Her room and the whole place are always very clean. She enjoys the food, especially since she can make requests. I really appreciate the communication. Monthly newsletters keep me updated, and I love seeing her picture every month. Emery also keeps me informed about any medical issues or if she needs something for her apartment. They did an amazing job keeping everyone safe and healthy during Covid-19. Overall, I couldn't have picked a better place for my mom to live.

"Great Staff and Happy Residents at Emory Place"
It was really hard for my father-in-law to leave his home, but the staff has been great in helping him adjust. Now he feels comfortable with the people and the place, enjoys the food, and has made friends with the staff and other residents. It's a relief to see him happy and healthier than he was for the three years before moving to Emory Place.

"Mom is at home"
My mother originally stayed here for respite care after she broke her back. The staff was outstandingly caring and they helped her move back home. Some years later she fell and suffered a brain bleed and subsequent stroke. My family and I have such faith in Emery Place and the folks there are so nice; it was an easy transition back. She returned as a permanent resident, and was happy to do so. Plenty of activities, a clean and comfortable environment, great food, exercise, and the personal service was provided. They address all aspects of her well-being. We highly recommend Emery Place, and we're very happy with it.

"Caring Staff Make Emery Place Feel Like Home"
My mom has been at Emery Place for two months after staying at another care facility for six months. At first, it was hard for her to adjust, but the caring staff helped her feel better. Now, she's comfortable, making friends, and happy again. This place is beautiful, well-kept, and the staff are really responsive.

"A Pleasant Experience"
The folks we met at this place were nice. The place was clean and well-maintained. They had plenty of activities and allowed pets. It was a bit pricey, though.

"Great Visit, Wrong Location!"
My visit to this assisted living place for my family member went smoothly. The staff were punctual and acted professionally. They didn't rush us and showed us around the whole facility. I liked the layout and they had many cool things for everyone living there. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right spot for us in the end.

"Experienced a Sales-Pushy Visit at Beautiful New Senior Home"
When I visited, I didn't find any issues but there was a bit of a pushy sales pitch. A comment a woman made bothered me. She told me that my mom wasn't allowed to have accidents on their nice chairs. The place is new and really nice. They have some good people working there.

"Be Alert: Critique on Emery Place's Lockdown Strategy"
Very unsatisfied with my mother-in-law's treatment at Emery Place. She was among the earliest to move in two years ago when it first opened. Emery Place conducted a standalone assessment of her a few weeks ago. They declared she must transfer to their new confining unit, simply because she burned a brownie in her microwave and underperformed an evaluation test they set up. The lead nurse at Emery Place seems to hold all the power and ignores any alternative views, even those from family members. The choices we were offered were to either move to the secure wing or exit altogether. Hence, we're having to relocate my mother-in-law to a setting where her self-governance gets the respect it deserves, and where they are committed to escalating their care levels in response to escalating needs, rather than just storing our aging relatives in a secure, yet understaffed facility. Ignore their assurances of elevating your family member's care levels as they grow older. Their real implication is that your elderly will be shuffled to costlier confined quarters for them to continue staying at Emery. My mother-in-law has successfully been 'evaluated' at several alternative facilities we're considering, and I'm certain that the insistence from Emery Place to transfer her was influenced by their anticipation of freeing up her type of apartment for those on their waiting list. They also hoped to populate their vacant safe ward rooms with individuals who are currently assigned the preferred rooms. Our experience is not a lone case...over the last month, the same situation has unfolded for 3 other residents. Regrettably, they lacked the support from their families to back them up. Exercise caution...

"Friendly Guide!"
The lady who showed me around Emery Place was great. She knew her stuff, met with me on a Saturday, and the facility was clean and well-maintained. Overall, a positive experience, but not the best fit for my loved one.

"Expanded Options Improve Assisted Living Experience!"
When we first visited this community, it focused mainly on memory care, and there were only a few residents. However, they've now expanded, opening more rooms to accommodate residents with varying care needs.

"Better Than Our Last Place"
Our family member with Alzheimer's has settled in nicely at Emery Place. The transition was smoother than other nursing homes, likely due to the friendly staff and pleasant environment.

"A Welcoming and Clean Assisted Living Facility"
The place is really nice. It's kinda new, so they're still figuring things out. But it's super clean and tidy. Everyone's been so nice to me. The staff is friendly and helpful too. They really care about us. And for what you get, it's a great deal. They have awesome activities and take good care of us. I'd totally tell people to check out The Emery Place.
