"Welcoming and Homey Assisted Living; Recommended for Others"
The place had a nice, friendly vibe, kinda like home. The workers were nice and made me feel welcome. I'd tell my friends to check it out.

"Assisted Living Facility Offers Good Value Despite Pricing Changes"
The cost increased from the original quote, but it's still a good deal compared to others. The staff is caring, though sometimes they seem short-handed. The facility is very clean, inviting, and well-maintained. Our family member's apartment is lovely. Not all advertised activities apply to memory care, but the staff encourages participation when possible. Overall, we're pleased and grateful for securing a room here for our family member.

"Caring and Protective Staff at Vintage Hills"
The staff at Vintage Hills is really friendly and great with my dad. They are very careful with the people they care for. Once, a visitor asked my dad for his Social Security number, and one of the staff members quickly stepped in to tell my dad not to give it out. I’m very grateful for everyone at Vintage Hills in Indianola!

My loved one is doing well here. We chose this place because it's clean, new, and conveniently located. The staff is friendly and knows their stuff. They offer activities like puzzles and group exercises. They also provide transportation for outings like shopping and groceries. Overall, I recommend this place to other families.

"Mixed Feelings on Dad’s Assisted Living Stay"
This place looks nice, and some nurses were super sweet to my dad. They even danced with him in his room, which he loved. It made him really happy. But, I’ve got to say, not everything was great. A couple of times, the staff told me I called too much and that they had dad’s care and medicine all handled. When I brought my kids to visit their grandpa, we were turned away. They said the kids made grandpa upset, and it was tough to calm him down. There were also times I showed up alone and found dad hadn’t been taken care of right. He’d be in dirty clothes, and I’d have to clean him and change him myself. Dad fell once and had to go to the hospital. When we called the place, they didn’t have any info on it, even though the paramedics took him because of that fall. After that, dad didn’t go back there. We took care of him at home with hospice help until he passed away.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living: Kindness and Neglect"
My dad stayed at this nice place for two weeks. Some nurses were really nice to him. They danced with him, which he loved. But, some other staff were not so good. They said I called too much and that they had everything in control. When I brought my kids to see their grandpa, they turned us away, saying we upset him. Sometimes, when I visited alone, I found dad not properly cared for. He'd be in dirty clothes, so I cleaned him up. Dad fell once and had to go to the hospital. When we called the place about it, they had no record. But, paramedics took him there after the fall. Dad didn’t go back to the place. We took him home with hospice care until he passed.

"Friendly staff and good care, though laundry costs extra"
My mom is really impressed with the friendly staff! It costs quite a bit, but she's safe there, and the price is about average. I do wish they would include more laundry service without extra charges. Overall, it's been a great place for mom. We've been very happy with how they care for and treat the residents. The staff is always kind and helpful.

"Beware of exaggerated promises!"
The place looks good, but the things they say about their memory care unit are WAY overblown. This can screw up families who believe what they're told. Sure, some of the workers are great and really care about the residents, but just as many barely know what they're doing and don't seem to want to learn how to help your family deal with dementia. If your loved one needs more than they can handle, they'll tell you to find a new place in 30 days. Other people need to know about this because moving is extremely hard for folks dealing with dementia. Every move is a big step back. Watch out!

"Wonderful Community"
I visited the Village Hills of Indianola to find a nice home for my parents. The staff was wonderful, the grounds well-kept, and the care services met our needs.
