"Assisted Living Facility: Mixed Experience with Staff and Costs"

I rated the staff 3 stars. Most were experienced, but many seemed tired from multiple shifts. Weekend staff couldn't provide the same medication support, causing tough weekends for Mom. Residents and staff were generally nice. Cost was double our expectations, but we understood Mom's limited time.

"Caring Assisted Living at Brookdale Boise Parkcenter"

Everyone is nice. The place is clean and fun, but the food got worse. The nurses take great care of my parents. I'm thankful.

"Satisfied with Brookdale Boise Parkcenter; food improving, activities abundant."

So far, everything's been pretty good without any complaints. Our loved one is adjusting well now that they've settled into daily routines at Brookdale Boise Parkcenter. The food is still improving, but it's getting better. There's a good variety of activities available. Overall, we're quite happy and expect things will improve even more over time.

"Positive Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

Our loved one is adjusting well to the assisted living facility. She enjoys her apartment and the food. The staff is helpful, especially at night. They also organize weekly outings.

"Loving staff, spacious rooms, but not worth the cost."

The people who worked there were really nice, and the rooms were really nice too. My grandpa had his own room, and it was clean and had plenty of room. But we felt like we were paying a lot of money for it, and it didn't seem like it was worth it.

"Just Okay: Nearby Care Home Has Room for Improvement"

I chose this place because it's nearby and I needed to quickly find somewhere for my folks to live. You can stay there short-term and the apartments are all ready to go, fully furnished. The staff here are really nice, they care a lot. But they've cut down on how many people work there and it's affecting how fast they can help. Like, my dad would push his call button and sometimes it would be half an hour before someone came. We thought about getting a specialized nurse, but they said we couldn't do that. My dad also wasn't happy with the food service. It wasn't great and sometimes he'd have to wait an hour to get his food. When he did get it, it would be cold. I also think they lure you in with low rent, but then they add a bunch of extra costs and they don't warn you when the rent's going up. I'm not saying I'd never recommend the place, just that I wouldn't go out of my way to tell other families about it.

"Assisted living with prompt meals, cozy apartments, and attentive staff."

My mother-in-law stays there. The place is clean and they serve meals on time. They don’t have a fixed breakfast menu; residents can choose what they want. Even if you're almost late, they'll still serve you until 9 am. She likes being served at dinner with a waiter. Before this place, she was somewhere else where it took almost 2 hours to get food. Residents can update their apartments; she got a great one because the previous residents had updated everything. My only complaint is that the maintenance man might have personal problems. He took something off her door to fix it but never came back. Housekeeping cleans the apartment every 2 weeks, but she has to wash her own sheets. She plans it out so they'll make her bed when they come. There are guard rails in the hallways and bathroom for safety. The hallway has a secure outside door with a keypad. The staff shows extra care; waiters help with walkers without being asked. Everyone knows the residents’ names, which is nice.

"A Great Experience!"

My mom recently moved into this place, and she's really happy with everything. We've talked a lot, and she loves her new home. The food is good, and she enjoys eating with the other people here. Overall, it's a great spot, and I'd recommend it.

"Still Settling In"

My parents are settling in well since they moved to Brookdale. Mom seems to be adjusting better than Dad. Overall, I’m pleased with their experience. They’ve participated in activities and connected with other residents during their first month.

"Room for Improvement in Communication at Assisted Living Facility"

Mom's doing better, and I'm glad I'm here for her. The staff's nice, trying their best. But there's not enough communication. When I bring up issues, they don't respond with solutions. Mom and I enjoy the food. They handle her laundry, but some clothes go missing. It's an okay community, conveniently close. I'd suggest it.

"Great Stay!"

I stayed in this community briefly, and I had a great experience. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The spacious apartment with a large bathroom made my stay pleasant. Overall, I'm happy and would recommend this place.

"Great Care Spot for Short-Term Stay"

I stayed at Brookdale for three weeks after an accident. The staff was nice and caring, and the residents seemed content. I'd suggest it for short stays or respite. I can't speak for long-term living yet, but it's something I'm thinking about if I need it.

"Adequate Facility with Unpleasant Staff and Good Amenities"

When we entered the assisted living facility, we noticed the aides were rather harsh and impolite to the residents. We discussed this with the person giving us a tour, who was in charge of activities. She seemed genuinely concerned and planned to address the issue. Besides this, the facility was okay. The rooms were decent. The options for meals appeared to be good. The activities seemed to be well-organized and interesting.

"Wonderful Care!"

They were super friendly and helped me settle into my temporary home away from home. They spent a lot of time getting a rented hospital bed delivered and following up with the doctor about my medications. I'd recommend Brookdale to anyone needing short-term assisted living.

"High prices and unfriendly management tarnish Brookdale's appeal."

The staff, the tour guide, was very helpful in showing me around the place. She helped me figure out what was best for my parent. The studio was pretty small, but it did have big windows that let in a lot of light. However, the Community Fee of $2500 is a lot more than other places I've looked at. The suites are also pricier compared to others. It's hard to figure out the extra cost for the care plan because Brookdale decides that for each person. They call it an "a la carte system." I got to meet the on-site nurse. She was nice. The boss, though, doesn't seem to get along with people very well. Honestly, I wasn't impressed. I can't say much about the care services or activities since I only went on a tour.

"Assisted Living Frustrations Lead to Switch at Villas at River Place"

My aunt stayed in independent living at Villas at River Place for a month. We moved her out of assisted living due to ongoing renovations. It was chaotic, staff seemed stressed, bossy, and talked down to residents. My aunt wanted more control over her life, but she felt ignored there. Despite this, the facility offers fantastic programs with exciting outings and engaging activities. The marketing person was supportive of my aunt, which I appreciated. However, we never received a clear price breakdown, which was frustrating. I hope the independent living section improves.

"Everything seems good I'm rating them pretty high so far."

Everything seems to be going as well as it can. Adjusting is tough, but most people have been very helpful with questions and guiding me. I observe the staff with other residents and my loved one, and I don't have any worries. The place is quite clean, and with my past experience, I feel I know what to look for. Overall, I would rate them pretty high.

"Wonderful Villa with Great Staff and Beautiful Scenery"

I’ve never been treated so well. I’ve lived in two other places, and they weren’t like this villa. It’s clean with big windows that let in lots of light. I love waking up each morning to see my cat lounging in the window, soaking up the sun. I saw my first deer up close and realized how beautiful they are. The mallards are pretty, and I enjoy watching the squirrels chase each other up and down the trees. My cat loves it too. There are lots of walkways to enjoy the outdoors. The food is delicious, and the staff is amazing. The management couldn’t be better. They are the best. I really love the villa.

"Amazing Place with Caring Staff and Great Food"

I've only been here a few days, but the staff really makes you feel at home. I’m loving it so far. The grounds are beautiful, and the inside is just as nice. The food is fantastic I've never had anything like it. It’s healthy and delicious. There are lots of activities if you want to join in. As I mentioned, the staff is wonderful and truly cares about the residents. Each morning, you wake up knowing you’re in a safe and caring place. What more could you ask for? Come to the villa, and you won’t be disappointed.

"Expensive, Oversized Facility Possibly Negligent with Impersonal Caregivers"

This place cost a lot. We gained some knowledge, but the place is just too vast. I suspect there might have been some thievery. I can't be certain, so I won't accuse directly. The facility is so large; individual care for the residents seems improbable. The caregivers seemed mechanical, with no personal connection. It was hard to form bonds with anyone because of its immense size.

"Great price, lots of activities, and excellent transportation!"

I think the price is very good for the Boise area. As far as I know, the care is fine, even though I’m quite far away. We chose this place for my mom. They have lots of activities, including exercise classes almost every day and a balance class a few times a week. They take people to medical appointments three days a week and also offer transportation to the bank and grocery store. My mom also has a couple of friends who moved there, and it’s close to her previous home, which were important factors in our decision.

"Unwelcoming visit undermines potential assisted living choice"

Perhaps it was just a bad day, but our experience was awful and distressing. I got the sense that no effort or empathy was put into our consultation. The woman we spoke with made me feel guilty for thinking about placing my dad in assisted living, and even got my dad doubting it. She pointedly noted that my dad was in a poor mood, suggesting he should return when he's feeling better. After weeks of encouraging my dad and promoting the idea positively, she ruined it with her comments. I give this place one star because the building itself was quite nice. I enjoyed the patios and extra storage in the rooms. However, I would never choose this place for my dad. Good looks alone cannot create a homelike atmosphere for a person living with dementia.

"Larger Cabins, With Potential Morning Snow on Walkways"

The cabins are good-sized spaces but the paths could be snowy during winter mornings.

"Costly Studio Apartment with Meals, Axiom Gym Nearby"

The studio apartment is above $2,300 and comes with all meals included. The average age of residents is around 80. There's an Axiom gym just a block away that has a pool. Right now, the place is pretty packed and there aren't any studios available. It might be too pricey for some - I'd suggest considering Affinity instead.

"Friendly atmosphere, missed lunch invitation"

The location and dining room were very nice. I met a few residents, but unfortunately, I wasn't invited to share lunch while there.
