"Great Activities, But Issues with Meals and Doctor Visits"
Everything is great for my mom, and she has tried some activities. She is waiting for instructions on how to play other games from another place. The meals taste bland, and some have tough meat and veggies, which is a problem for her. They said a doctor comes to the facility, which is why we chose them. We made an appointment, but the doctor didn't show up. I'm not happy about that because we went to the community, and we need her to get set up for homecare.

"Misleading Advertisements: Disappointing Dining Experience at Brookdale Lewiston"
The ad for Brookdale Lewiston says the dining room is fancy, like a restaurant. But it's just a big, plain room, except for a nice chandelier. They claim to serve "gourmet" meals, but mostly it's not true. Only a couple of special buffets were actually gourmet. Other times, the food isn't cooked well, cold, or tough. They say residents love the "home-cooked" meals, but that's not true either. Many people complain about the food. And they talk about "decadent" desserts, but often they're burnt or too hard. Even the cake is dry without frosting. The advertisement is definitely not telling the truth!

"Caring Staff, Medication Concerns"
The staff at the assisted living facility are kind to the elderly residents. The place is pleasant overall, but the nurses need to be more cautious with medication. Despite that, the workers are friendly.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
The place is pretty good except for a few issues. Sometimes they don't have enough staff, and the food isn't that great. The staff who are there are nice but seem really busy. They could use more help to make things better.

"Renovations Underway, Overall Good Experience"
Emeritus at Juniper Meadow is getting a makeover, so I gave cleanliness a slightly lower rating. But overall, it’s been a good experience.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
Our experience here has been good overall. My loved one is having some trouble settling in, but the staff are wonderful and really trying to help him feel safe and at home. They’ve been very helpful in making sure our loved one is comfortable here, even though it’s been tough. I would recommend them for anyone looking in the area!

"Disappointing Assisted-Living Facility with Untrustworthy 24-Hour Staff"
I've spent most of my life working in nursing homes and places for assisted-living. I've never come across a facility like this one. They boast about having a "24-hour wakeful staff," yet the EMS is there almost twice per day to rush someone to the hospital. Not long ago, it was an elderly person who had fallen and was undiscovered on the floor for five or six hours. I wouldn't count on these guys to even look after a hamster.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living"
The food had problems, especially at the start. Sometimes they run out of the main dish, and then they offer peanut butter and jelly instead. They serve a lot of pork. The dining area doesn't have enough staff. It's not all bad, but that's the biggest issue. Some staff are friendly, while others aren't. The place changed ownership, and the grounds need work. We picked it because the front staff and director were super friendly, but we didn't see them much afterward.

"No Outside Access and Poor Treatment at Assisted Living Facility"
If your loved one has Alzheimer's or dementia, do not send them here! They can't go outdoors. They're shuffled around like herds of cows into various rooms... always moved when it suits them. The moment my father attempted to step outside, they forced us to leave.
