"Consider Carefully Before Choosing Heritage Assisted Living"
Our family's time at Heritage had its ups and downs. While the place looked nice and the dining area was pleasant, there were some concerns. The building is older but kept well. It's peaceful with nice decorations. Most of the staff, especially the dietary and maintenance folks, were kind and helpful. However, about a third of the care staff seemed impatient or gruff, which worried us. We moved my uncle there, believing they could meet his needs. Unfortunately, they couldn't. Despite assurances, they couldn't handle his limitations well. They seem better suited for residents needing little assistance. Nursing coverage, especially during evenings and weekends, was a concern. We also noticed issues with handwashing practices, which could be a problem for infections. Eventually, we found a better facility for my uncle. The new director advised us to research facilities carefully since they differ in what they offer. My uncle is doing better now. While Heritage might be affordable and suitable for mobile residents needing moderate help, make sure to visit frequently. Many residents seemed lonely, so staying connected is crucial.

"Limited capabilities make Heritage for selected Few"
Our mixed feelings about Heritage Assisted Living" Our family's time at Heritage has unfortunately led us to give a lower rating. Heritage could certainly become a standout facility if they just deal with a few outstanding issues. The building of Heritage is older, but clearly taken care of. The surroundings are calm and the decorations in the place are appealing. There's also a nice place to eat. The food-service staff and the maintenance guy are all really nice and helpful. Most of the people providing care as well are lovely, but about a third of them seemed cranky, agitated or quick to be bothered. We brought my uncle to this place trusting their assurance of meeting his physical needs, but sadly they fell short. Now, I won't question their capability of looking after residents who don't need much assistance and can manage on their own. But, if you have someone who needs more than a little bit of help, Heritage may not be the right choice. We also had several concerns about the level of various medical care during evenings and particularly on weekends. My cousin happened to hear a conversation between another resident's family and the staff about hand sanitation, and it sounded like there might be room for improvement there. This is a serious concern considering it can lead to the spread of germs and sicknesses. Eventually, we moved my uncle to another assisted living place that catered to his needs more effectively. The person in charge at this new facility advised us that not all assisted living places are the same and offer different services. So, really researching prior to making a choice is essential. A few months have passed since my uncle has been at this new place and he is much happier. Heritage does have a lower price tag compared to others, so it might be suitable if your person doesn't require much care and can mostly take care of themselves. Never forget to visit your person regularly, no matter the place you choose. There were several lonely and unhappy residents at Heritage, as is probably common in such places. Therefore, try to keep your loved ones involved in family activities as much as possible.

"Affordable care home, needs a revamp"
I paid a visit to this assisted living center while searching for a new home for my brother. The place was well-maintained but old-fashioned and in serious need of renovation. They have plenty of available spaces, and they offer the lowest prices compared to other places. The person who showed us around, who was in charge of marketing, really knew what they were talking about and seemed pretty keen on getting the empty spots filled. I'd suggest checking out this place to other families, even with its outdated style.

"Mixed Experience at Heritage Assisted Living"
My dad chose Heritage Assisted Living, and it's been nice. The place is clean, which I really like. The staff is friendly, and the food is good. I appreciate the greenery and quiet location. However, I'm not happy about the extra charges for rides, and I think they could improve the activities, especially for men. Overall, dad is happy here.

"Clean, Friendly Community with Room for Improvement"
My dad picked Heritage Assisted Living, and it's been nice. It's clean, which I like. The people who work there are friendly, and the food is pretty good for this type of place. I appreciate that there are lots of trees and grass around, and it's in a quiet neighborhood. But, I don't like that they charge $15 more for rides to the doctor and stuff, and I think they could plan better activities, especially for the guys. But overall, my dad seems happy here.

"Facility Only Offers Small Rooms, Unpleasant Activity Area"
Housing only offers small, single-room living spaces. It feels like the residents are stuck in these tiny rooms most of the time. The room where they do activities isn't great either. It smells bad and is too small, which even makes it feel suffocating.

"Assisted Living Community Falls Short on Hospitality"
I visited the assisted living community for a tour, but it felt like I was bothering them. The staff wasn't very welcoming, and they simply said they were full without explaining why. It could have been handled more professionally. It seemed like they were exaggerating. In the end, there was a waiting list, and they were at full capacity.

"Felt Unwelcome and Lost in This Overbooked Facility"
I visited this place for a look-around and felt like they thought I was a bother. It wasn't a friendly experience. The lady simply said they had no room and weren't sure why I was directed here. She could've been nicer about it. It seemed like they were making it a bigger deal than it was. Turns out, they were full then and had a waiting list.

"A good tour"
When we checked out this community, it was really nice. The staff were friendly, and the place looked clean. They had daily activities and encouraged residents to socialize. However, it was a bit pricier than what we wanted. My advice: don't search on your own—places like A Place for Mom have helpful info.

"Same Price for Aged Living Center Lacks Newer Features"
Mr Crowe was real nice and behaved like a pro. But the place is so old and really behind the times. There are no small kitchens in the rooms. I just can't get why they ask for the same money as the newer spots in Boise.'

"Older but Well-Maintained Assisted Living with Helpful Staff"
This place looked old but they take care of it. People living here walk around a lot. It's just one floor. Fred Parker was really nice and helpful.

"Solid Choice for Assisted Living and Memory Care"
Our time at Heritage Assisted Living and Memory Care has been quite positive. The staff here is more professional and friendly compared to other places I've been to. They keep the facility very clean and neat, both in the areas for assisted living and memory care. I also appreciate how they really try hard to get the residents involved in lots of social activities. They even have a shuttle to take residents to different local events, which is great!

"Unhappy With Unpleasant Smells and Overworked Staff"
I wasn't thrilled with this spot. Stepping inside, I was immediately hit with the scent of urine. To me, the staff looked like they were sweating the small stuff even in the middle of the day. In my book, if a place smells bad or reeks of too much chlorine, that's not a good start. If a place smells nice, or even has no smell at all, I take that as a positive. Unfortunately, this place had a stench, so I didn't hang around too long. They had no vacancies, but I wasn't particularly interested anyway.
