"Cozy, Affordable Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Administration"
We checked out this place and decided it was the one. It felt like a family here, and the price was right. The people who run things are easy to deal with, and the folks who work here are friendly too.

"Helpful staff but strong urine smell noted"
The staff was very helpful when we needed to move in quickly. They always looked clean and tidy. The administrator can be a bit hard to talk to, but I think it's just because he's not very outgoing. The only problem I noticed was a strong smell of urine in the building. I thought it was pretty noticeable, but my husband and mother-in-law didn't find it as strong when they visited later.

"Overall positive stay with minor cleanliness concerns"
The staff helped us get settled during a tough time. The place is clean and well-kept. The administrator is a bit hard to talk to, but I think it's just because he's not very outgoing. The only problem I noticed was a urine smell in the building. It was quite strong to me, but my husband and mother-in-law didn’t think it was as noticeable later that day.

"Cottages Review: Strict Management Hampers Resident Engagement"
The people working at the Cottages are nice and show a lot of care, but some folks who aren't as active don't get much interaction with others or staff. The activities coordinator does a good job with what she's got, fighting to keep residents involved. But the manager always wants the residents to be quiet. When family members plan activities to help residents improve their memory skills, the manager complains, even though the residents like these activities and aren't happy when told they can't join. One activity had a young lady singing and playing familiar songs that brought back happy childhood memories. Another had residents playing board games and decorating gourds. Each time, the residents were having a good time until the manager, complained and put an end to it. She makes one-size-fits-all rules for each resident, including when they can talk on the phone, when they have to go to bed, and even if they can go outside to the locked yard. Manager bossy management style only benefits her. No family would want their older parents in a place where they're ordered around and can't do things they enjoy.

"Caring Manager Creates Positive Experience"
The manager was super professional and friendly. My dad loved the clean, uncluttered setting, and she provided great validation for his caregiving experience.
