"Mixed Staff Friendliness; Updates Needed in Facilities and Food"
The staff's friendliness ranges from 3 to 5 stars. Updating carpets, furniture, and food can improve. My mom was there during a management change, many left, causing a rough period. Hoping for stable staff and better settled conditions now.

"Assisted Living with Warm Staff and Engaging Activities"
Alexian Village is a great place. They're hiring more staff. There are many activities for residents, though more variety is needed like art classes and gardening. The staff is friendly, caring, and responsive to concerns. They helped my mom settle in comfortably. CNAs, nurses, and administrators have all gone out of their way. My mom is thriving.

"Attentive Staff and Controlled Medication at Alexian Village"
We picked Alexian Village mainly because they handle medication carefully, making sure it's taken as needed. Compared to bigger places I considered, the smaller size here means the staff understand residents' needs better. They're also more responsive when I have questions or requests. I'd suggest this place to other families looking for care.

"Better Communication Needed Upon Moving In"
This community is really nice, but I think they could improve how they talk to residents. Besides that, moving in and settling down has been really good. It's just that once you're here, it's a bit confusing because they don't tell you what to do or what's going to happen next.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
Our family member isn't very happy with the meals served. Activities are limited. The dining room is still closed. However, we find the cost reasonable. They accept Medicaid, which may be an option soon.

"Safe and Considerate Assisted Living with Pet-Friendly Amenities"
My sister-in-law and I felt safe staying there. She didn't like the food much, but the rooms and community layout were nice. The staff was really kind. They even allow pets and have a dog-walking area in the back.

"Unsatisfactory Facility Ignores COVID, Promises, and Family Efforts"
This place is awful. The staff aren't following Covid protocols, they aren't even required to wear masks. Plus, the salespeople don't have to either. On their website, they say they'll provide residents with cell phones and audio equipment due to the virus, since the residents are stuck inside. But, that's not happening at all. The families of residents are sending cards to cheer them up, but this place doesn't give the cards to the residents. However, it's all good for therapists and other people to come in.

"Assisted Living Community Offers Comfort and Convenience"
I really enjoyed seeing active seniors chatting with each other and staff during my visit. The place was clean, and I think my mom would like the outdoor area with the gazebo. They include everything in the price, and their ‘age in place’ approach is what we’re after. While it’s not a five-star resort, it’s very nice and comfy. We’ll follow up for more info and schedule a lunch visit for Mom.

"Facility Disrespects WWII Vet with Dementia"
My dad, a WWII veteran with Dementia, lives here. They say they can handle Dementia patients, but it’s not true. The leaders don’t respect him, even though his doctors think he’s fine with proper medication. Now they’re giving him 30 days to find a new place. It’s like they’re turning their backs on a Military Veteran.

"Privacy and Accuracy Issues at Assisted Living"
They sent me another person’s appointment email by mistake. They tried to fix it, but the second email was even more mixed up. It seems like they don’t think grammar matters. They don’t care about keeping things private or paying attention to the small stuff. I decided not to even visit the place after they messed up the appointment and shared someone else’s personal information. If they’re this careless now, I can only imagine how they might neglect someone I care about.

"Errors and Privacy Breach: Visit Cancelled over Initial Contact"
They sent me someone else's appointment email by mistake. They attempted to correct it, but the second try was even worse. It seems like good grammar, privacy, and paying attention to detail aren't high up on their priority list. If they can't even manage to schedule appointments properly and even share someone else's information, I decided there's no point in visiting or checking them out in person. I mean if that's the kind of care they provide before even becoming a resident, just think about the level of neglect my loved one might receive there.

"This community accepts public aid"
I visited this place while searching for a home for my parents, so my experience was limited. Everything seemed nice—the staff were friendly, and the facility was clean. No bad smells, unlike some other places. They accept public aid, but unfortunately, they don't offer Alzheimer's care. The sample room was decent, although the windows were small and the room felt a bit darker than other options.

"Assisted Living: Cozy, Caring, but with Room Size Limitations"
I had a great time at Alexian Village. The guides were super friendly and knew a lot. The place is really bright. To move in, you need to pay for at least 9 months before Medicaid helps out. They check if you're eligible for Medicaid before you come. Only one person per room, so couples might have to be apart. The rooms are kind of small. But they're really good with giving out meds. The staff are cheerful and know everyone's names. They make sure people take their meds on time. The main room by the fire is a bit crowded, and it's the first thing you see when you come in. The halls are bright with rails on the walls. Doctors come by once a week, and so do the dentist and eye doctor. There's even a salon for haircuts a couple days each week. Each room has a shower and a little kitchen. I can't remember if there's a stove. There are two meal times. They help you out as you get older, but if you get really sick, you might go to the hospice next door. They can't handle colostomy bags. They've got good plans for fires and tornadoes and practice them a lot.

"Scrutinize Assisted Living Facilities for Actual Assistance"
Sure, you won't run out of money as most of these folks are on public aid. But because of that, this doesn't feel like assisted living at all with all the wheelchairs, walkers, and folks who can't even manage their own bathroom trips. There's a heavy presence of oxygen tanks and hospice care, even catheters. My impression? This place isn't it. All it tells me is that they're just after the money. This isn't assisted living as we know it and it's sad because it's really dragging down the few legitimate residents they have.

"Unpleasant Smells and Inadequate Staff at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is essentially a nursing home, not an assisted living facility. The strong odor of urine is unbearable. There are many residents receiving public aid and hospice care. The available activities are repetitive and lack variety, like what you'd find in grad school. There's also a noticeable shortage of staff. During my visit, I saw multiple residents in wheelchairs and walkers actively receiving assistance.

"Concerns About Staff and Resident Care"
When I toured the community, it looked very clean and well-maintained. However, I had concerns about the high staff turnover and the lack of care for the current residents. I was not impressed with what I saw and would not consider moving my mom into that facility.
