"Belmont: Excellent Assisted Living"

We recommend Belmont for anyone needing assisted living. The staff is excellent.

"Poor communication, hard to reach staff at expensive facility."

I'm shelling out a hefty sum every month, and it's not right that I have to monitor my mom's care all the time. That's their job! There's hardly ever anyone available to take my questions. Except for the front desk, nobody picks up the phone, and they can't assist you. The communication between the staff and families is just terrible, and it's really difficult to get hold of anyone.

"Nice Place, But Not Ideal for Everyone"

Belmont Village is a nice place. It looks modern and feels more like a hotel than a warm, cozy home. The suites were beautiful with hardwood floors. One big problem was that my loved one would have had to eat all meals in the dining room because they didn't have enough staff to bring food to her room. Since she can't walk, this would be really hard for her. The woman showing us around knew a lot, but sometimes I felt she wasn't listening to what we needed. She was also too pushy, wanting us to decide right away. Even after I said we needed time, she kept emailing and calling me, which I didn't like.

"Mother-in-Law Felt Overwhelmed by Size of Belmont Village"

We had a really good tour at Belmont Village. It's a decent place. My mother-in-law wanted something smaller and cozier, but she thought this place was too big. She was worried she might get lost.

"Mixed Feelings: Clean Facility with Communication Issues"

This place looks nice and stays clean. Most staff are friendly and okay. Food's alright, no complaints from my family. Would I tell someone about Belmont Village? Yes and no. It's nice, but maybe other places are similar. They have enough staff, but sometimes they don't pay enough attention. Like, my family member's sheets aren't changed every week, and sometimes other people wander into their room and take stuff. Not big stuff, but still. It seems like the bosses and the workers don't talk enough. We told the bosses about problems, they said they'd fix it, but nothing really changes. My family member seems okay overall, and they're good with Covid safety. We're not moving them, but things need to get better here.

"Assisted Living Facility: Great Care, Pricey but Excellent Ambiance"

The community was nice but too pricey. Great care, staff, and ambiance.

"Caring Staff and Beautiful Facility at a High Cost"

The assisted living place costs a lot, but we like the staff a lot. They're really good with our family. Our loved one has Alzheimer's which is getting worse, but they take care of him well. They pay attention to him and keep us informed. Plus, the place is just really nice and beautiful.

"Assisted Living Facility Review Summary"

This assisted living place has one building with three floors. There are two "Neighborhood" options, which might work for my mom. Residents in these areas eat in group-dining rooms that used to be activity rooms. These rooms feel more like an institution and less like a home, unlike the main dining room which is more cozy. I didn't like that there were locks on the entry doors to the unit. During my tour, there was a fire drill, but I didn't see anyone evacuating, not even the tour guide or myself. The rooms are separate, and you can bring your own furniture. The bathrooms and showers look old-fashioned. The showers have seats, but there's a ledge at the bottom that makes it impossible to bring in a chair. They're also quite small. The glass doors didn't have great ratings, but apparently, this is a common issue across the country. The employees didn't seem very friendly they weren't smiling much. However, the place seems to be well maintained. The menu is good, although all residents get the same choices.

"Smelly Assisted Living Facility"

Ugh, not good. The place smells.

"Friendly staff, nice place, good food"

I visit Belmont Village every week, though I'm not the main contact. The staff is friendly and helpful, the place looks great, and the food is pretty good! I don't know much about their medical or therapy services.

"Clean and Friendly, Needs More Support"

This is the first community I have visited, so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I found the community clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly. I like the option of villa housing for independent living, but I did not get the feeling there is a lot of contact or support for their care.

"Decent amenities but fell short; not the perfect fit."

I liked this place and they had cool stuff for everyone who lives there. The people who work there were nice and helped me when I had questions about where they live. But compared to some other places I checked out, it wasn't as good, and it didn't end up being the right place for her.

"Caring and Clean Community"

We visited this place. The staff was friendly and caring. They answered our questions about what they offer. The food menu was good. The place was clean. We suggest other families visit here for their loved ones' care.

"Unpleasant Staff; This Facility is Not Recommended"

The employees here are incredibly disrespectful. I wouldn't suggest them!

"Too Pricey for What It Offers"

I visited this assisted living place, and I didn’t think it was anything special. The cost was too high for what they offered. The room was $6,000 a month, and care costs were extra. It was more than we could afford.

My father thrives here. Caring staff, good meals, lots of activities.

"Welcoming Community with Caring Staff and Clean Environment"

I visited this place and had a friend who stayed here. The staff is really nice and takes good care of everyone. Whenever I go, the place looks tidy. They have lots of fun things for my loved one to do. I think it's a good choice.

"Tour Revealed Care Center Not Fit for Dad"

We decided not to go with this place due to some private reasons. After checking it out, it just didn't meet the needs or care standards my dad requires.

"Review of Belmont Village Buffalo Grove - Buffalo Grove, IL"

Staff nice but group activities lacked interaction in hallway setting.

"Inconsistent Care at Belmont Village Assisted Living"

Our time at Belmont Village had its highs and lows. We sent two family members there, and for one, things went pretty smooth. Yet, the other needed more care than they could give. They should have been more detailed in evaluating her needs to prevent the hassle of moving her in and then back out. Still, they've been doing well with the family member who stayed. It’s a decent place if their care level fits your needs.

"Friendly, Convenient Assisted Living with Good Food – Four Stars"

They’ve been really helpful. They got my husband in quickly. The place is in a good location. They have fun activities like Bingo and music. The food is good too. Everything’s going smoothly. No problems. I’d recommend Belmont Village Buffalo Grove. Four stars.

"Assisted Living Review"

We had a rough start, but things got better. At first, they didn't meet all of our loved one's needs, but after about a month, they started doing better. Most of the staff are friendly and caring, but they could improve communication.

"Positive staff, unsure about brain program for Mom."

Debbie, the social worker, was friendly and helpful. Staff was welcoming. 'Circle of Friends' brain program not suitable for Mom.

"Awesome place, friendly staff, takes good care of the residents."

Belmont Village is a great place. It’s close to my home, so I can visit my Mom more often. They have lots of activities for her, and I think she’s happier here. The staff treats everyone with respect and handles things discreetly. The administrative staff is helpful, even though it’s a bit expensive. But knowing my Mom is well cared for means everything! I’d recommend Belmont to anyone with an elder relative.

"Great Value and Responsive Care"

I like them a lot. Moving in quickly caused a few problems, but they fixed them fast. They offer levels of care instead of charging for each extra service, which makes it a great deal. The food is alright, and they can handle special diets. I don't have to keep reminding them about things like I did in other places.

"Exceptional Staff, Room for Improvement"

This place has amazing staff! The food needs work though. I wish they'd communicate better with my family. They call when necessary, but regular check-ins would be nice. They hired someone new for that, which is good. We picked them because they have a nurse all day. But sometimes it takes too long for help at night. Still, we're pretty happy overall. They have a good ratio of staff to residents.

"Caring Staff and Supportive Environment Made a Tough Time Easier"

We placed both our parents here, each in their own room because they needed different kinds of care. The staff made everyone feel welcome, like they were part of the Belmont family. Many of them treat the residents as if they were their own family members. There are lots of activities, led by an enthusiastic person, that match the residents' abilities, and staff are always there to help if needed. Special events throughout the year, like golf tournaments, casino nights, and carnivals, bring fun and things to look forward to. The nursing staff is excellent caring and skilled. The PALs are gentle and compassionate. The dining hall is beautiful and the food is both appealing and delicious. The facility is well-maintained and decorated for the seasons. Both our parents passed away recently. Hospice care was provided for one parent, and both Belmont and hospice staff were incredibly kind and understanding. Belmont supported us greatly during this difficult time. We truly felt relieved knowing our parents were so well-cared for and loved.

"We liked it, but don't do end-of-life"

My mom was still alive when they were there, and she reached the end-of-life stage needing more care. They couldn't provide that, so they asked them to leave. I really liked it there, and my dad, who is easy-going, accepted things and liked it too. The food was really good, especially the BBQs. Since my dad was legally blind, he couldn't do many activities, but he enjoyed card games and poker until he couldn't see well enough anymore.

"Nice piano at entrance, some concerns inside"

I liked the grand piano at the entrance. Mom might do okay with Circle of Friends, but the language barrier could be an issue. I like the hourly wellness checks. One of the "pals" speaks Italian. The Secured Neighborhood was depressing. There was an odor in the room we visited.

"Warm Care and Great Staff, Pricey but Worth It"

This place was really nice, but it cost more than other places we checked out. It was about $7,200, but that covered everything, even three meals a day. The people who worked there were really kind and friendly.

"Communication Issues Impact Assisted Living Experience"

My mom's been here a short while, seems fine. My only gripe is staff not talking well. I tell bosses stuff, but caregivers don’t seem to know. Like, I said mom's doc coming at 10, but at 10:20, a caregiver called asking if it's okay for someone to see her. Not a big deal, but still not great. Mom likes the activities, walks, bus tours, crafts, and talks. So far, it's alright.

"Too far away, despite great appearance; Dad prefers specific area."

This place seemed nice, but turns out Dad really wants to live closer to a certain area. It's just too far from where he wants to be.

"Just Assisted Living, Even Single Bedroom Apartments are Cramped"

It's just an assisted living place. The apartments there, even the single bedrooms, are quite cramped.

"Nice place but might be too "care" focused, dining excellent"

The place and pictures seem nice. Feels a bit too focused on "taking care" maybe? The restaurant-style meals are great though.
