"Billing Issues Aside, Great Staff and Convenient Location"

If my friend asked me about my time at the community, I'd tell them it's been mostly good, except for dealing with the bills. I've had to talk to the accounting people several times to sort things out. One big problem is that bills often come late. The staff here is really good, and it's only two and a half miles from where my brother lives.

"Insufficient care, questionable charges."

BV lacks sufficient staff, untraned, rude PALs, management satisfactory.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

Overall, the place is safe, clean, and nice, but it didn't work for me. I don't receive any feedback, even though this place is pricey. They hardly take the memory care residents out, just to the patio. (Another location does take them out.) I was told the staff could help residents leave their rooms, but my brother refuses. He doesn't participate in activities, and they don't adjust TV shows or activities to help him socialize. Even after discussing this, no one walked my brother around as promised. This center might suit someone less active than my brother.

"Great Management, Mixed Staff"

The bosses are awesome, but the regular staff could do better. They handle problems well and respond quickly. I appreciate their follow-up calls and accountability. Overall, it’s the best we’ve seen.

"Unfriendly Staff and Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility"

The people who work here aren't nice and there aren't enough of them, so I never see helpers around when needed. The quality of the food has dropped a lot, to the point where my family member doesn't even want to eat here anymore. People should be aware that this place isn't what it seems. They act one way, but when they have to care for someone with worsening dementia, they just don't know how to handle it. They also don't talk with the families properly.

"Family Enjoys Assisted Living Tour Despite Distance Concerns"

We toured the facility in person, which was great, but it was too far.

"Great overall, few issues in Memory Care Unit."

"Shocking Neglect and Abuse at Belmont Village Assisted Living Facility"

I've held back from writing this review for a while, maybe because some workers at Belmont deserve respect for their compassion and dedication. Having lived in Oak Park for ages, I'm astounded by the ongoing issues. I'm very upset with the care provided to residents at Belmont Village in Oak Park, where I have family and friends. Some staff members are MEAN and maybe even PHYSICALLY HARMFUL towards the folks living there. This neglect and overlooking goes all the way up to the bosses, especially one in charge of the nursing department who is super rude. I've heard awful stories about how management and Pal staff members say mean things and belittle residents TO THEIR FACES. They make fun of and humiliate them in front of their friends. When you point these problems out, these staff members lie or make it super hard on those who complain. Someone, PLEASE, pay special attention to those living in locked units. If a record was kept of the stuff happening there, lots of people would lose their jobs. The residents can't stand up for themselves or even speak out.

"Limited independent living; good care but not suitable currently."

This place is pretty good overall. They take care of you well and the services they offer are nice. However, if you're looking for a place where you can live more independently, this isn't it. Right now, it's not the best choice for me.

"Inconsistent care, disappointing treatment at facility"

As my parent's condition worsens, the quality of care decreases. A handful of the staff are great, but a lot of them are not patient, careful, or kind. She has had injuries, such as broken bones and needed stitches, and her hygiene has been neglected, with her hair often dirty. The idea of having to move her now is heartbreaking. Do yourself a favor and choose a better place from the beginning!

"Mixed Feelings: Assisted Living Visit"

When I went to check out this place, it seemed pretty nice and tidy. The folks I talked to were friendly. I’d say it’s worth considering, but it kinda gave off more of a hospital vibe.

"Didn't Visit Oak Park, Heard Good Things about Belmont Village"

Chose not to check out Oak Park as it's too far from my family and friends. But, I've heard Belmont Village is really good'.

"Friendly staff, but Care Level falls short"

My mom stayed at this place. The workers were kind but didn't deliver all that we expected. She got a lot of different choices for food, which was great. The center also provided activities for her. But, my mom needed more attention. I don't think I'd suggest this place to others right now.

"Respectful Guy Can't Provide Necessary Mom Care"

The guy I talked to at this place was really nice. He gave me a lot of info and answered my questions clearly. He did tell me that they probably couldn't give my mom the exact care she needs. I'm glad he respected my time and was honest.

"Lack of Colostomy Care in Assisted Living Facility Review"

This place offers memory care support but it would require me to bring in a home healthcare nurse to help with colostomy skin barrier changes. The colostomy schedule is not reliable enough...it just doesn't meet our requirements.

"Transition to Belmont"

Our family appreciated the quick responses when we asked about moving Mom to Belmont. While some initial promises weren't kept, the staff worked together to solve problems when we shared our concerns. During the transition, family members were consistently present, but the real test will be how care continues during future visits. Mom is sad to leave her old home at Brookdale, but her condition requires specialized memory care. We're hopeful that Belmont will live up to their promises.

"Belmont Village: A Deceptive Disappointing Experience"

Don't be fooled by appearances, because they can trick you. My mom moved into Belmont on a Sunday afternoon, full of energy and life. When I visited her the next day, less than 24 hours later, she couldn't walk on her own and sat in her own waste. It was so much such that her diapers couldn't contain it all and it soaked into her chair. The following day, she was even worse. We had to rush her to the hospital in an ambulance. If you care at all about your family, don't bring them to Belmont Village.

"Great facility, attentive staff"

Belmont Village Oak Park was a great place. The only thing that could be better is when the nurses gave my dad his medication. We had to look for them, and they weren't very good at it. Other than that, everyone was great. The staff was very attentive.

"Attentive Service in Small Community with Limited Food Choices"

Even though it's part of a chain, the service and personal attention were good. The food options are few, and the portions are small. The staff handles complaints well, but you need to make sure all services are paid for and provided.

"Deceptive Facility Lacks In Care Quality"

This place isn't what it claims to be at all. Trust only half of their promises as they rarely give the same response twice. They're expert in telling you exactly what you want to hear, but rarely performing the actions. There is only one onsite nurse for the entire facility and she frequently doesn't show up with no backup in place. The doctor who is called in occasionally might not even stick to his schedule. I dread to comprehend what my mom's health would have been without her visiting external nurse. Hence, if you're more into expensive parties and delicious food, you may find a cruise ship trip a much more enjoyable and worthwhile investment.

"Lots of activities for residents"

This is a nice facility. I think they are short on nursing staff because it took an hour for them to come and get my parents' medicine and start administering it. They have a lot of activities for my mom in memory care.

"Things Are Going Okay"

Things are going okay. Sometimes it’s challenging to adjust to living here. The food is really good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They organize activities that seem appropriate. I’m not sure how they choose topics for the group, though. The place is clean, but having roommates isn’t my favorite, and the price is a bit high. The setup could be better.

"A Wonderful Place for Quality Care and Senior Happiness"

The staff, nurses, and CNAs at Belmont Village make it a special place to live and get care. Everyone, from the Executive Director down, learns what matters to your loved one and works to make it happen. My mom got different kinds of care while she was there, and even though it was hard for our family, everything was handled smoothly and as part of a big plan. I would definitely recommend Belmont Village to a friend, so trust me and check it out for your loved one! They do a lot for seniors and have a good mix of men and women, so your loved one can make friends and enjoy their new home. Thanks and great job to Belmont Village.

"They’ve Really Got Their Act Together!"

The food is amazing—definitely a 5 out of 5! The chef is fantastic, always catering to her taste. I eat there whenever I can. They offer activities, but she doesn’t participate much. When we first visited, they were very open and insisted we have lunch with them. The salespeople were friendly, straightforward, and easy to deal with. They’re thorough and caring. I think they do everything nearly perfectly.

"Belmont Village: A Happy Home for Mom's Dementia Care"

My mom moved into Belmont Village a little over a month ago, and so far, we're really happy with it. They keep her busy with activities all day, which is good for her dementia. The nurses and staff are super nice and always make sure she's okay. The food is yummy, and they change up the decorations for the holidays, which makes it feel festive. I've chatted with some other families whose relatives have been here for years, and they all seem pretty satisfied too. Overall, it's been a good experience.

"Memory Care Affordability Concerns"

Overall, I really like the place. The staff is amazing and super helpful, especially the administrator. She's always on top of things. But, the memory care program is pricey, an extra $2000 each month. It's a lot for many people. I wish they'd consider those who can't afford it. Maybe they could offer a cheaper alternative. Belmont is a bit more expensive than other options, but the rooms are nice and my loved one enjoys it there.

"More sprawled layout, higher cost"

It was our second choice because the non-refundable deposit was $4,500, which was a bit too much. We felt very welcomed. It was larger and more spread out than Sunrise, with sections instead of floors, so it was harder to get a feel for where people were.

"Nice Assisted Living Community"

The community costs a bit more, but it's nice. They offer many activities for residents, but they should encourage more participation. The place looks attractive and is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it.

I spoke with them last week. They called Brookside for my mom. I liked this place; it's close.
