"Poor Living Conditions and Food in Assisted Living Facility"
The only good thing about this place is they can't kick you out if you're broke. The food was bad and didn't look good. It felt like I was eating at a school cafeteria. The single room they first gave us was so small. It only had space for a hospital bed and a little chair. We later moved to a one-bedroom, but it was really basic. The living room couldn't even fit a couch, just two chairs. They don't allow real kitchens, so you only get a microwave. They were good in the beginning with Covid safety, keeping us informed. But overall, we were let down. We wouldn't choose to keep our loved one in this place. The only activities were almost none. There's a small outside area, but no parking for visitors.

"Great Care and Communication for Loved Ones"
We picked this place because it was close by, available, and had good security. My mom was in memory care, and everyone was on one floor with a great staff-to-patient ratio. They communicated well and sent newsletters to keep us informed. They were very welcoming to families visiting their loved ones. They also tried to make meals that everyone liked so they would eat. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Nursing Home Neglects Basic Care, Endangers Dementia Patients"
My mom was set to have a family visit during the Coronavirus outbreak. As we waited, staff found her unresponsive and had to dial 911. An ambulance rushed her to the closest hospital. There, they discovered she was extremely dehydrated and had high sodium levels, alongside a urinary tract infection. They don't even bother to ensure that dementia patients get the basic need of water. I'm very angry about this. I'd feel perfectly fine if these negligent caregivers were denied water until they become unresponsive and nearly pass away.

"Displeased Review: Unsanitary, Unsafe Assisted Living Facility Lacks Adequate Staff"
My husband was there in 2017 for treatment of an open wound. Their main focus seemed to be physical therapy, not cleanliness or safety. His room was rarely clean and his wheelchair was often left unlocked, causing him to nearly tip over four times. There was a precautionary mat by his bed in case he fell, but some of the nursing staff were not up to standard. The place seemed short-staffed, making it feel unsafe. Moreover, the CEO was not adept at handling complaints from family members. The building was insecure, with broken side doors and no surveillance cameras. This made it feel like anyone could sneak in. I would not recommend this place. It did not live up to expectations, especially for people suffering from dementia. My rating for this place is zero. I had to constantly argue for my husband's needs. He was unhappy throughout. This place might be okay for short-term use, but certainly not for long-term care. Half the time, the call light in the room was non-operational.

"Unfulfilling Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My husband was sent there for wound care and it was far from satisfactory. They seemed more interested in his physical therapy. His room was rarely clean. They repeatedly forgot to lock his wheelchair, causing him to nearly tip over four times. They left a blue mat by the side of his bed as a safety measure, but that gave me little reassurance. Several of the CNA's left a lot to be desired and the place often felt understaffed and unsafe. Complaints were not taken seriously by the CEO. The outside side doors were broken and anyone could come in unnoticed. There were no security cameras near these doors. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's not up to par, especially for those with Dementia. Zero stars from me. I fought daily for my husband. He was very unhappy. Maybe it's okay for brief rehab stays, but definitely not as a long-term residence. The call light in the room was often broken.

"Mixed Feelings about Bethesda Nursing Home"
I think the nursing home's pricing is tricky. They say one price but then raise it when you ask. The staff at Bethesda takes good care of my wife. They give her tasty and healthy meals. The home is clean and well-maintained.
