"Assisted Living Falls Short"

I was told Bickford was a skilled nursing facility, but they’re not. They charge us like it’s top-notch care, but we don’t get that level of attention. Communication is scarce unless we request a meeting. Moving in was tough; our ‘new’ apartment lacked paint and new carpet. Meals are okay, and they try to please my picky loved one. They need more caring workers. Only one nurse and one CNA stand out; others lack training. Maintenance struggles to keep up. We’re stuck because no other place has apartments. Housekeeping falls short. I wouldn’t recommend this place under current management and staff.

"Hoping for Improvement at Bickford with New Staff"

Right now, I wouldn't suggest Bickford to anyone. They've brought in some new staff members, so I'm hoping things will get better.

"Nice Visit, Not the Right Fit"

We visited the facility in person with our family, and it was quite pleasant. However, it didn't meet the specific needs we have for our loved one.

"Neglected Patient Care, Terrible Communication, and Unreturned Refunds"

This place was seriously lacking employees. They totally lacked kindness and patience towards my family member. She was only there for a little over a week and they kept forgetting to take her to eat. They never gave her a bath or offered help. They ignored the call button for restroom assistance, leaving her sitting in her own urine for hours straight. The plan was for her to stay for a month, but I had to take her out early because of their poor care. I've made attempts to call them for the past month and even popped by in person, but no one would have a conversation with me about getting my money back. They promised they could provide proper care for her after doing an assessment, but they completely lied. I got the feeling they just wanted our money. To sum it up, it was a horrendous experience and I advise against choosing them.

"Lack of Phone Service Frustration"

My mom lives in your memory care facility. When I call to check on her, nobody answers the phone. I’ve tried multiple times, and it’s frustrating. Please hire a receptionist or create a direct line to memory care.

"Assisted Living with Good Amenities and Friendly Staff"

I believe they're nice and have reasonable prices. They're working on getting better. Overall, I'd suggest them to a friend. The food is decent. The rooms and community layout are good. They even have outdoor space for residents.

"Compassionate care, clean facility, and close to home—very satisfied."

Bickford in Bloomington, IL is a great place. The staff is compassionate, and my mom stays in the dementia care facility, which is a smaller part of the facility. This allows for more one-on-one interaction, and she is well cared for. The food is high quality and full of protein. The facility is well-kept and clean. I’m glad I chose this place for her, especially since it’s close to my home. They keep me informed of everything, like when my mom falls because she forgets she can’t walk. It’s a relief not to worry about her. I’ve visited other places in town that were crowded with patients, some of whom were aggressive, and I couldn’t put my defenseless mom in that situation. I get to fill out an assessment of the facility and write instructions for the staff if needed. I do have to pay for all of her supplies, which aren’t included in the monthly payment.

"Bickford Assisted Living: Quality Care with Some Questions"

Bickford seems a bit older than the other new places I visited, but that's because it's been around for 17 years. That's actually good because my dad might feel more at home there. They have all the amenities. The staff I met were really nice and talked to me. From what I learned, they genuinely care about the patients. Overall, their level of care and services feels high quality. I appreciate that the center is secure, and residents can't wander off. The college partnership and enrichment programs are impressive. However, the price is the highest, and I need to understand the true costs and potential increases for different levels of care and memory care.

"A Pleasant Tour but Needs Updates"

I visited this place and the people were friendly. The place looked nice too. They answered all my questions. It's only around 15 years old, but it hasn't had any updates, and the carpet is worn out. It was clean and taken care of, but it wasn't right for my friends.

"Explored This Assisted Living Facility, But Not Perfect for Friends"

I took a look around this place and the people working there were really friendly. The community was good too. They answered everything I asked. The place is only about 15 years old, but they haven't updated it and the carpet is getting old. Everything was clean and well-maintained, it just didn't seem like the right place for my friends.

"Mom's Cozy Haven"

I put my mom in this community, just 3 miles from our home. I'm happy she's so close. The staff changes a lot, which worries me a bit, but they're responsive. The food is good, and the place stays really clean. Mom loves playing bingo and exercises daily. The garden area is nice too. I chose this place for the 24-hour nursing care.

"Happy with Willow Creek Assisted Living!"

I am happy with the care the staff gives my mom. They are doing a good job taking care of her needs. My mom likes the different kinds of food they offer. They have a lot of activities for the residents to enjoy. They could make the activities better by adding more things for residents with memory care, like painting, indoor ball games, and crafts.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

This place has been alright. Had a few hiccups, but they fixed them. Lots of fun activities, and it's always clean. No issues with the food. Sometimes the meat is too well-cooked, but overall, it's good. The staff is super nice and always willing to assist.
