"Billing Issues Overshadow Good Care in Assisted Living Facility"
After my parents lived at Bickford for a long time, I must say the care staff was mostly great. Of course, there were a few not-so-great employees, but the management usually handles them. However, their billing department is terrible! Waiting almost 90 days for a refund is unacceptable! It takes forever for payments to show up in the bank. No matter how many times we call, nothing changes, showing that corporate doesn't seem to care. I don't mean to be picky, but after paying hundreds of thousands of dollars on time over the years, our refund is only about $[removed]. Yes, you read that correctly, hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's really expensive!

"Uninterested in Fee and Too Far From Home"
It looks pretty good, but I'm not willing to pay the community fee. Plus, it's too far from my house.

"Pushy Tour Guide, Nice Facility: Virtual Tour Experience"
We did a virtual tour of this place. It was nice, had a good layout. But the person who showed us around was a bit too pushy. The facility itself was still really nice though.

"Dishonest Salesperson and Horrible Living Conditions at Assisted Facility"
The salesperson, was dishonest and only focused on selling. My mother was placed in a room with a really unpleasant and harsh lady who was kicked out from another place. When we first visited, we met a sweet roommate, not this one. Even after nurses witnessed this lady's horrible behavior, they promised to talk to him about moving my mom, but it didn't happen. She didn't consider our concerns or even listen to her own team. We were stuck in that room until I found a better place for mom. She had originally promised a new room if things didn't work out, but when we faced troubles, she pointed at a 10-person waiting list and offered no help except for us to leave. They promised a full refund, but I've still got bills from Bickford. On top of that, my mom missed some of her meds because the staff didn't order all from their pharmacy in time. All this put my mom's health at risk. I wouldn't suggest this terrible place to anyone.

"Higher Costs Deterred Mom from Choosing Assisted Living"
It cost more than expected. My mom didn't choose it because of the $5000 community fee and the $7000 monthly rate.

A Place For Mom Customer
"Limited amenities, decent visit hours, communal space encouraged, but no phone or cable."
This place has room for about 50 folks in assisted living, but they don't throw in cable or phone service. They say they want everyone to hang out in the shared areas. You can check it out most days until 7-8pm.

"Clean and Friendly but Disliked Layout and Fees"
The place was nice and tidy, and the folks were friendly. However, I didn't really like how it was set up. It seemed like there were too many little offices. Plus, I wasn't a fan of the community fee, especially since they only gave back half of it.
