"Assisted living met needs but lacked expected quality care."
We chose this place because it had apartments available, was the right size, and they said they'd take good care of us.

"Cozy community with family feel, perfect for personalized care."
The facility feels like a home, and everyone here feels like family because it's not too big. We chose this community because it's nice and smaller, offering essential services. Location, availability, and smaller size were key factors. I didn't want mom to feel overwhelmed; she wouldn't have used activities in larger places.

"Staff Very Nice Mom Gets Great Care in Memory Care"
I am really pleased with how well my mom is taken care of in the memory care section. The staff is really nice and friendly, and they make sure she gets everything she needs. It's been a positive experience overall!

"Convenient Layout and Welcoming Atmosphere"
Our family visited in person and it was great. This was our second pick. We liked how the rooms were arranged around the edges, and everything was close by. The areas for activities and gathering were just outside the rooms, making it easy for everyone living there to access them.

"Happy Residents with Great Staff and Fun Activities"
The people working here are really great. My family member really likes the meals. It's a wonderful place, and you won't regret bringing your family member here. My mother-in-law also stays here, and they're both pleased with this place. They have lots of things to do like puzzles, bingo, fun Fridays, church services, music shows, exercise classes, cooking club, and more to keep everyone active.

"Caring Staff and Good Food, but Staffing Concerns"
There are some issues with staffing right now. This might affect things in the future. Overall, it's a nice place. The staff really care about the people who live there. The food is pretty good. They serve prime rib and bacon for breakfast, and they make homemade soups. The community tries to make most of the food from scratch. There are also choices for the main meal, so residents can pick what they want.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
During Covid, we could only visit recently. They've cared well. Any issues resolved promptly. Recommend it. Staff mostly friendly; occasional exceptions. Pleasant scent. More activities besides bingo desired. Staff participation in events suggested.

""Neat Facility, But Misleading About On-Site Therapy""
The place looked good, but the rooms didn't have any furniture. The meals were okay and the place was tidy. They made me think that there would be physical therapy ready for us, but we had to set everything up ourselves. We could have done that without leaving our house.

"Expensive charges for small services; good activities; reluctantly recommended."
My nephew picked Bickford of Peoria online for me. They charge for every little thing. Good activities, but expensive.

"Dad's Place at Bickford: A Decent Choice"
Bickford is a good place to choose. The food is alright, but my dad wants more options. The rooms are a good size and the community layout is nice. The staff is good, but it would be better if they didn't change so often.

"Don't go here"
Their customer service is terrible and I've already pulled my 98 year old mother from the facility.

"Cozy, Well-Maintained Community with Great Food and Activities"
Bickford of Peoria is a smaller community with friendly, knowledgeable staff. It feels like a cozy, family-like place. The food here is top-notch some of the best meals my parents have had in similar communities. There are lots of activities, with at least two or three events happening every day. The place is also kept in great shape. I would definitely recommend it to others.

"Highly Satisfied with Dad's Assisted Living Experience"
My dad had some getting-used-to time when he moved here, but I'm happy with what they've done for us. The staff is great, and the director and my dad get along well. They have lots of stuff for the residents to do, like going on a cool trip to the gardens. I've eaten here, and the food is super. The place is always kept nice. I feel good knowing my dad is safe and well cared for here. I'd tell others to check it out for sure.

"Food Could Use Major Upgrade"
I get that they really need to step up their game with their meals. The current menu is just really bad. Otherwise, I can't think of another big issue bothering this place right now.

"Expensive Facility with Bad Food and Negligent Nursing Care"
My mom started living there in August. The meals they provide are often not tasty and are typically served cold. Most of the time, nobody picks up the phone at their office. It's also quite expensive; that's why she's planning to move out in November. Sometimes on weekends, the nurse forgets to give her medications.

"Locked Doors and Dark Hallways: Not a Cozy Feel"
Bickford is connected to an Alzheimer's section which made it feel locked up because you can't just walk in. I got there a bit before my scheduled visit, but I couldn't get in because the doors were closed. I didn't see any workers around and the reception desk was empty. The inside was really dark, with heavy wood and lots of dark green. Even though it's a newer place, and the living spaces were ok, it didn't feel cozy or inviting.

"Grandma Home After Unsatisfactory Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
My Grandma returned home on December 15, 2013, feeling uneasy about her stay at Bickford. In spite of requiring physical assistance, she is quite sharp and capable. Yet, they treated her like she was intellectually weak. Having been the retired City Treasurer of Peoria, Illinois, she tolerated this poorly. We had to go as far as contacting the corporate to straighten out her billing and Long Term Care issues and now, she is back home with home assistance.

"Excellent care and peace of mind for my mother"
My mom has Alzheimer's and couldn't care for herself anymore. We got her in right away, and the care is amazing. She loves all the caregivers and feels safe there. I’m less worried and sleeping better knowing she’s well taken care of.

"Nice place but lacks interaction and overpriced."
The place is good, but I observed no one engaging with the elderly. The rooms were decent but appeared poorly constructed. It costs way more compared to other places that offer more services.
