"Grimy and Overpriced: Bickford of Rockford Review"
When I was looking for an assisted living home for my family member, I checked out Bickford of Rockford. The whole place felt gloomy and poorly lit. When you first step inside, it reeks of pee. The eating area was super grungy, including the tables and floors. Even their meeting room table was dirty and sticky, littered with bits of food. The price for a plain apartment-style room, with no help from the staff included, is really high. With that sort of cash, you should be living in a fancy place.

When I began searching for a place for my mother-in-law, I wanted a place that would offer great care and also feel like a family. That’s exactly what I found at Bickford.

"Helpful staff but not the right fit for medical needs"
I checked out this place while searching for options for my loved one. I found it to be a bit more expensive than the place I chose. They also didn’t have enough staff for her medical needs. However, my interactions with the staff were positive; they were very helpful, but it just wasn’t the right fit.

"Clean and Spacious Assisted Living with Helpful Staff and Great Outdoors"
We visited this community and found it really nice. They only had one room available, but it was on the second floor, and we needed a first-floor option. The rooms were very large and clean. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. They also have a fantastic outdoor area.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
My first visit to this Assisted Living place was great. The building looks nice with pretty seasonal decorations outside and inside. I came during dinner and the food smelled really good. People here have different abilities, but everyone gets help if they need it. They have exercise classes and physical therapy, which my Mom likes a lot. They also have a nice outdoor area to relax and see the garden. It's nice that they allow pets too!

"Institutional Feel in Bickford Assisted Living Disappoints"
When we visited Bickford, we didn't like how it felt. It seemed more like a hospital than a home. The call lights especially gave it that hospital-like atmosphere.

"Caring Staff and Activities, but Room for Meal Improvement"
The people who work at this place have been great to my loved one while she has been there. They always pay attention to what she needs and make sure she feels comfortable where she lives. She likes joining in activities with the other people who live there sometimes and has made lots of friends. The only thing they've told her could be better is the food they serve.

"Mixed Feelings: Assisted Living Facility in Remodeling Stage"
The Bickford of Rockford was getting remodeled when we visited. The place looked nice and clean overall. But, our first impression wasn't great. When we walked in, some residents were sitting in wheelchairs at the entrance. They did have some activities, but they needed more to keep everyone entertained. Our loved one wanted independent living, but the place didn't give off that vibe. They offer three meals a day, but we only wanted one.

The place looks good, but you have to pay privately, and it's a big company.
