"Assisted Living Facility Review"
I was warmly greeted by helpful and knowledgeable staff. The renovations are beautiful, making this a very nice place. Talking with current residents, they seem well cared for and have good things to say about the community. The staff is busy and involved in patient care.

"Friendly residents, clean facility, spacious apartments, helpful staff; great first impression."
I visited Trustwell Living of Springfield for a tour as a new lab tech. The residents were really friendly and helpful. The staff was super nice and gave me a tour. The facility looked really clean. The apartments were way bigger than other places I've seen.

"Neglected Grandma at Facility – Missing Meds and Showers"
My grandma kept missing her meds at this place. A lot of times I had to bug the head person to get her meds to her, and that would be after they were already late. For the entire two and a half months she was there, she barely ever got a shower. I had to ask the head person for that, too. They were supposed to give her two showers a week. When we finally moved her out in November, her meds went missing. She just had a three-month supply filled up not even one month before. The person in charge of nursing said they couldn't find any of it and that it was just "vanished." When I let our doctor know to get refills, the person answering phones said they weren't even surprised. It's mind-blowing to me that this place is still open. Please, I'm begging you, don't go there.

"Bickford Senior Living Falls Short on Staff and Meals"
My mom's been at Bickford Senior Living for a whole year. They're always short on staff, especially on weekends. The meals are hit or miss. They promise menu substitutes, but they're rarely available. Administration is MIA most weekends. Don't bother calling corporate—they won't call back. Look elsewhere for your loved one!

"Comfortable Assisted Living for Both Parents, Pleasant Experience"
My parents recently moved into this community and they're adjusting well. They're settling in nicely and adapting to their new home, which seems perfect for them. The staff here are really helpful, especially the nurses who are taking good care of their health needs. Overall, it's been a nice experience for us, and we're happy with how everything's going so far.

"Mom Struggled in Large Facility"
We didn't choose this place because it was too big. It seemed too hard for Mom to get around.

"Limited Activities and Location Concerns at Bickford Assisted Living"
I visited Bickford several times, but each time, there wasn't much happening. The residents mostly stayed in their apartments and weren't very active. The location didn't appeal to me either, with too many stores and banks around. The rooms had only one window; we wanted more natural light, like she has at home. Overall, it wasn't what we wanted.

"Wonderful Assisted Living: Great Care, Cozy Rooms, and Fun Activities"
The community has been really welcoming to my mother-in-law. The staff goes above and beyond to make her stay as comfortable as possible. They even called her doctor about a health concern instead of making me handle it. The meals are excellent, and the chef always says to let him know if she wants anything different. Her room feels like an apartment with its own bathroom, a small kitchen, and a little living room. She also has a window that lets in extra light. They offer a mix of activities and even have a music program. Overall, I’m very happy with this community. The staff is always cheerful and takes care of everything she needs.

"Larger Assisted Living Community Not Quite Homey Enough"
Me and my family member visited this place. The staff was friendly and answered our questions well. However, it felt too big for us. We prefer a smaller, cozier atmosphere.

"Bickford Assisted Living Shines Bright"
My parents are still getting used to living at Bickford. The staff are friendly and easy to talk to. The food is really good with plenty of options, and the meals are healthy. They have lots of different activities to choose from. The place is always clean, and I think it's a good place for seniors.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Community"
The tour guide knew a lot and explained everything clearly. The community has a beautician and welcomes pets. The rooms were clean and organized, but I didn’t feel a sense of warmth during the tour. Sadly, it didn’t feel like home for my loved one.

"Denied Refund Despite Short Stay and Unused Facilities at Bickford"
Back in January of 2016, my wife she and I arranged a brief stay at Springfield's Bickford assisted living facility for Martha as I had a one-week trip coming up. We thought it was a good plan because she really doesn't like being home alone due to her anxiety. She actually preferred Bickford to staying at her daughter's house because they have two imposing Pit Bulls there. The booked stay was from April 16th to the 24th and we agreed to pay $100 every day. I put down a $500 deposit and they promised me in writing that that money was fully refundable in case Martha was unable to move in. So, on April 24th, around 1:00 PM, I took she to Bickford. I paid an extra $300 to cover the rest of her stay but they didn’t give us any contracts or paperwork. We moved she belongings to her new room and I had to rush out to get ready for my trip. But just two hours later, she rang me and told me she was so anxious that she couldn't stay at Bickford. I rushed back, and sure enough, her stuff was still unpacked. We told the Bickford reps that she couldn’t stay for the rest of the week and packed up her things again. In the meager three hours she was there, she didn't eat any meals, use any services or engage in activities, nor did any Bickford staff come to visit her. She can handle her own medications and didn't need any special service. When we asked Bickford for a refund the next day, they said that because they could've rented the room which remained unused, they wouldn't be giving any money back. But honestly, while we were there, it didn't seem crowded and not many folks were around.
