"Family Delighted with Assisted Living Care After 20 Months"
My mom has been living here for over 20 months, and we are really pleased with everything. She always has a smile on her face and enjoys the company of the caregivers and nurses who take care of her. We feel lucky that she is happy in her new home.

"High Community Fee, Nice Property"
I visited this place. It looked really nice, but the community fee was too high at $3500.

"Varied Activities and Comfortable Atmosphere"
When we were searching for a place for my loved one, we didn’t check out many spots. But when we visited here, my loved one instantly wanted to move in. So, we started the process. When you step in, it feels like a modern Disney hotel. They keep things tidy, and the place gets festive for holidays. Recently, they decked it out for Halloween, and now they're gearing up for Thanksgiving. The staff pays close attention to the residents, which is great. They have tons of activities and amenities. Every morning, there’s an exercise class at 9:30 am, plus a gym for solo workouts, bingo, movie nights, Saturday concerts, and weekly outings to restaurants or the mall. There’s even a hairdresser on-site, and we discovered my loved one’s doctor has an office here too. It’s been perfect. The food is delicious, and dining feels like being in a restaurant. They offer a changing menu with balanced options. Overall, I’d recommend this place to others.

""Good, but Charges Extra for Additional Care""
The people working at this place seem nice. They provide activities every day and make sure the place is neat. The meals served are yummy and good for you. However, this place isn't completely affordable because they ask for more money for extra care services. If you have the money, I think you should consider this place.

"Good Tour, Friendly Staff, but Not the Right Fit"
I got to tour this place recently and it was pretty good. The people who work there were really nice to me and my family. The place looked good and clean, too. Everything went smoothly and we were really happy with the tour. We considered many things in deciding where my mom should move. This place is nice, but it wasn't the right fit for us.

"Great Activities and Friendly Staff!"
The community has lots of activities for residents, both on-site and off-site. During my visit, the guide showed me around and introduced me to some friendly staff. The place looked clean, and residents can join a meal plan if they want.

"Mom's Lack of Encouragement, Social Interaction at Brookdale Hawthorn"
Mom's been at Brookdale Hawthorn for a week now, and the staff members, they're not always on the same page. They're not encouraging her to join in any activities. She's here because she fell, she needs help, but they've been taking her to where the independent folks eat. Some of the people living there are really out of it, kinda mean to her even. The young ones working there keep messing up their tasks too. But not all are like that. The staff is just awesome and goes above and beyond. But when ma needs help, they tend to drag their feet. They're mostly leaving her alone, with no interaction, and that's upsetting. They need to talk more to each other to figure out what needs doing. We'll see how it turns out in the next few weeks and then think about finding a new place.

"Assisted Living Place: Missing It's Mark For Our Mom"
My mom stayed at this assisted living place for half a year. She wasn't really happy there, so we found her a different place. We thought she would eventually stay at the Independent Living sector, but when we realized she'd keep needing assistance, we went searching for a friendlier place. Being here made her sad. The surroundings are amazing, with the lake and all, but it just wasn't her cup of tea. The food was average. They kept trying to charge us extra for nursing services that my mom didn't even use, so I always had to check the bills. Some of the nursing staff were fantastic, but some weren't that great. Therapy was a hit and miss too - some were good (props to her PT!) but others were not so good. Plus, the place was way too spread out and tricky for a wheelchair-bound person - the therapy room was all the way across. We really thought this place would work out, but sadly, it wasn't quite right for our mom.

"Friendly staff, pricey but worth it for good care"
I find the staff friendly. It's pricey, but it's worth it if my parents are well cared for.

"Loved the Activities, Still Visit for Knitting"
My husband and I stayed at a senior residence. It's not an assisted living place. I really liked it, but my husband didn't, so we left. I enjoyed the activities. They had exercise classes every day, entertainment, theme meals, and little treats. There was always something happening. I still visit for a knitting group.

"Big and Spacious"
The community felt too large for our needs. It was spacious, like a resort, but navigating it might be challenging due to the many buildings and open areas.
