"Friendly Assisted Living with Some Staff Knowledge Gaps"
I recommend Brookdale Hoffman Estates. Everyone is friendly, and they address issues promptly. Moving in was easy, and paperwork was done quickly. Meals are high quality and served hot. The only concern is weekend staff lacking knowledge about processes, especially food delivery.

"Assisted Living Review: Friendly Atmosphere with Plenty of Activities"
This place is friendly and diverse, with okay food. There's plenty to do like Bingo, live entertainment, card games, poker, blackjack, and art classes. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. They offer extra care like meals, laundry, and housekeeping. It's a great place to enjoy life, especially if you're still active.

"Limited Communication, Decent Staff: A Solid Assisted Living Option"
They responded promptly and did their best. I'd recommend them. The staff was decent, and they offered enjoyable activities for residents who liked games or outings. Communication improved after healthcare was provided for my loved one, but updates were still limited.

"Not Their First Pick, But Informative Visit"
When my folks were looking for a place, we visited Brookdale in Hoffman Estates. They had lunch, a tour, and a chat with other new residents (which I thought was useful). Eventually, they chose a spot closer to home and their preferred hospital.

"Caring Community with Room for Improvement"
This place is awesome! The people who work here are super friendly and always make sure my uncle is taken care of. The food could be better though. They have tons of fun stuff for him to do, which he loves. Plus, it's always clean and well-run. We've told our friends about it for sure.

"Pleasant Place for Seniors"
Our family member hasn't been here long, but Brookdale Hoffman Estates seems nice. It looks good, stays clean, and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that most residents are older than we expected.

"Informative Tour, Homey Atmosphere, Long Walk to Elevator"
We really liked the place and Steve, who showed us around, told us a lot of useful stuff. It was the cleanest and coziest place we've seen. The only downside was that some rooms were far from the elevator.

"Shortage of Staff but Generally Satisfied"
If my mom didn't have a full-time caregiver, I worry the staff wouldn't be able to help her out enough. There's just not enough nurse aides on each floor. They have too much work and not enough pay, which is pretty common nowadays. Aside from that, we're pretty satisfied and my mom seems content.

"Bright and welcoming assisted living. Renters' needs prioritized. Lease details."
This assisted living place is really nice. It's bright and open, and they really take care of the people who live there. You have to sign a lease for a year, but if you get sick, they might let you out of it. They increase the rent by about 4% every year, though.

"Great service and food, with a few areas for improvement"
The food was good, so I’d give it a four. The selection for special diets wasn’t as varied as it could be. I had a positive experience with the sales team. Overall, I’d rate them positively because they run a good operation. It’s tough to meet everyone’s needs. A Place For Mom was outstanding; their service was something I’d never seen before and really helped me out in a tough spot. My advisor, Tina Schachter, was amazing she was absolutely phenomenal.

"Smooth transition, welcoming environment; parents happy in new home."
My parents just moved into The Devonshire, and it's only been two days, but things seem to be going well. We liked how easy it was to move in, and the apartment they got is really nice. Everyone there has been super friendly and made us feel welcome.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Support Lacking for Vision Issues"
I chose this place for my mom thinking it'd be easier with doctors around. But there are hidden rules and costs not discussed upfront. Now, we're facing unexpected bills and too many visits. They have a variety of activities listed, but many aren't accessible for my mom with macular degeneration. It's disappointing that they don't offer adaptations for people with vision problems.

"Nice Place, But Too Big for My Mom"
It was a really, really nice place, but for me, it was too big for my mom. Some people love it and that's great, but I think my mom feels scared in big places.

"Impressive Environment, Lacking Assisted Living Transition"
The place was really nice and tidy. It looked beautiful. But they don't have a plan for helping folks transition to assisted living. Still, I felt good about it.

"Large 300-Resident Facility Offering Varied Care and VA Benefit Support"
This is a big place with around 300 folks living here, including about 80 gentlemen. It's pretty full, almost 94% full to be exact. The staff members seem to be enough for the residents as for every 5 residents, there's one staff member to look after them. This place has been here for about 20 years and a well-known company, Brookdale Senior Living, owns it. It's actually located on the same property as St. Alexis Hospital. They offer different living situations depending on how much help you need. You could live independently, get some assistance, or even get hospice care. They've also got a doctor on site all the time. If you're a veteran, this might be a good place for you. They're really good at helping folks get veteran benefits, and they even have someone specifically to help with that. If you need a place to stay ASAP, they have some furnished apartments ready to go. You have to sign a yearly contract though and let them know 60 days before if you want to leave. The fees start at about $4,000 each month, but you may need to pay more depending on the services you need.

"No Alzheimer’s Care in Assisted Living, Private Pay Only"
The assisted living facility doesn't offer specialized care for Alzheimer's or formal dementia patients. It's primarily tailored for individuals who can manage mostly on their own. It's located on the same grounds as St. Alexus hospital. Only private pay options are available.
