Brookdale Oak Park
"A Hassle-Free, Safe, and Content Life at the Facility"
Life here is easy. No leaf raking or snow shoveling. Meals have gotten better lately. I feel safe and content. I enjoy the movie area, gym, library, and second-floor coffee.

"Assisted Living Community Offers Excellent Experience, Hindered by Corporate Restrictions"
My experience here has been great. The people make it enjoyable. However, corporate rules limit food choices and community resources. Staff are asked to do tasks they're not trained for.

"A Cozy Oasis Near Downtown Oak Park"
This Brookdale is near downtown Oak Park, surrounded by lovely neighborhoods. The dentist is just a block away, and the doctor is a short walk. Restaurants and a barber are close by, and Trader Joe’s is right next door. Our favorite part is dinner—the social highlight of our day. There are plenty of activities, including a resident-run library. Our apartment has a spectacular view, and a beautiful forest preserve with walking trails is about a mile away. Sometimes we even spot deer on our neighborhood walks.

"Mismanaged Dining Mars Otherwise Good Facility"
The place itself is pretty good and it's in a great spot. There are a few issues you should be aware of though. The newbie tour doesn't take you very far. They basically just dump you on other residents and you're at the mercy of whoever agrees to help you out. They don't even bother introducing you to the people in charge of activities or dining or anything. Another thing that bugs me is the problems they have in their only place to eat. The food is all over the place and the servers are consistently slow and unwitting. Sometimes they're pretty snappy and act like they're superior to the residents. Plus, if you don't have reservations with a group that fills a table, they make you wait a long time before you're seated. It's pretty common to see a lot of folks waiting around while there are completely unused tables in the room. The person who seats the residents doesn't really seem to bother getting to know anyone or who we prefer to sit with. The dining room is a huge factor for people thinking about swapping their homes for this place, so you might want to know about these problems before coming to a decision.

"Clean, Friendly Assisted Living with Convenient Location"
My mom and I liked the clean facility, nice dining room, and view. The activities and learning options were good. The representative was thorough and friendly. We're still exploring other choices. While this place is pricier than some others we visited, its proximity to shopping and my mom's doctors is a plus.

"Gorgeous facility, great staff, but a bit pricey for us"
This place is absolutely stunning. It's in a fantastic spot, and the grounds look beautiful. The staff I met were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, it was just a bit more expensive than we could afford.

"Warm and welcoming with good food, but needs better orientation."
This place is super nice and the people are really friendly. They're always ready to help out. The food is tasty too. But, there's one thing I wish was better. It's kind of tough to figure out what's going on and how to join in on the activities. It's been a bit tricky getting my mom settled in with all that stuff.

"Nice Spot with Good Food and Limited Parking"
The meals here are tasty - I'd rate it a four. The place itself is quite pleasing - it's beautifully decorated. Features like the library are easily reachable. However, there's not a lot of parking space. The staff is quite kind and as I mentioned earlier, the community is really clean and attractive.

"Modern and Peaceful High-Rise Living with Happy Residents"
A Place for Mom" directed me to Holly Court Terrace. This place has an updated, nice look. The design is stylish but also has a calming atmosphere. Since it's a tall building, it might suit those who are already used to apartment living. The people living there seemed cheerful and there were plenty of things to do.
