"Mixed Experience at Dimensions Living Prospect Heights"
My family member lives at Dimensions Living Prospect Heights and things have mostly been good. The place is really clean! The activities and what you get for what you pay are okay. However, my loved one had money taken twice. I would suggest this place to others, but watch out for security and theft issues.

"Friendly and Clean Assisted Living Falls Short on Medicaid Transition"
We used Dimensions for respite care. We really liked it and would have liked to stay permanently, but this place doesn't accept Medicaid once you run out of money. We chose this community because the staff was friendly and attentive, it was clean, and there weren't too many people living in memory care.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The therapy department is really good. But the food? It's awful. There aren't enough aides in the nursing part. Nurses are nice, but the bosses don't manage well. They can't bring pain meds on time at night. Also, people eat alone in assisted living, unlike the nursing part where they eat together. I think the staff tries hard, but the big bosses care more about money than us.

"Assisted Living Center Provides Comprehensive Care, Experienced Theft Issues"
It gave my sister complete care—medical, spiritual, social, psychiatric—covering all needs. She'd stay forever if she could afford it. Sadly, her wallet was stolen twice within a week of moving in. Initially, she had $140; $100 was taken in the first theft. Disheartening.

I toured this place but didn't really like it. It didn't feel very welcoming when you walked in.

"Family-friendly community with responsive staff, minor communication improvements needed."
We chose this community based on price, staff friendliness, and room quality. A Place for Mom helped immensely. The sales manager was fantastic and always available. The staff is caring and communicates well. Sometimes, departments don't communicate smoothly; ongoing follow-up is crucial for residents' needs. However, the Executive Director addressed my concerns after listening.

"New Administrator Falls Short, Residents and Families Disappointed"
My mom lives here and she really likes it. The care is good, the nurses are nice, and the food is okay. But, the previous leader, who ran things, isn't here anymore. Now, there's a woman in charge, but they say she's just temporary. From what me and my mom have seen, we're not happy. This woman doesn't treat the staff, the people who live here, or their families well. I tried talking to her a few times, but she was always too busy to care. I thought maybe she wasn't feeling well because she's having a baby, but I found out that's not true. She's just like that. I don't know why they picked her to take over but she's nothing like the other managers we're used to. She never calls back, she won't look you in the eye, she never has time for worried family members, and she's rude.

"Poor experience, numerous staff changes, and insufficient communication."
Our experience here wasn't good with so many staff changes. They never let residents eat together in the dining hall. Plus, the communication between the staff and our family was lacking.

"Great Care and Friendly Staff at Assisted Living Facility"
Mom couldn't have chosen a better place for her long-term care. The staff is super friendly and takes great care of her. They are very careful about viruses. Not just with COVID, but two years ago, they quarantined everyone for a stomach virus. Mom has never gotten sick.

"Great staff and a supportive environment for new residents"
My mother moved into Brookdale Prospect Heights in Fall. Moving from living alone to a group setting was hard for her. The director and staff at Brookdale worked really hard to help her adjust. It took about 2 years for her to get used to the new place since she was 94 when she arrived. Once she got comfortable, she started joining activities and became happier with her new home. Even with the pandemic, I see that the staff are doing everything they can to keep everyone safe and healthy. I highly recommend Brookdale Prospect Heights for your loved one!

"Unsatisfactory Care and Disappointing Attitude at Assisted Living Facility"
The folks living here weren't treated well or routinely cared for. Often, they were just put in bed when the caregivers didn't feel like helping. I was really let down.

"Good Care and Therapy, Bad Food at Assisted Living"
Some of the helpers were better than others at this assisted living. They made sure he took part in everyday activities. The cleaning staff did a good job and kept things neat. The food, however, was not great. It didn't taste good and there wasn't much variety, plus the servings were really small. Despite having 5 options daily, three of them were always the same. The therapy sessions, on the other hand, were truly helpful.

"Happy with parents' care"
The community is good, and we are happy with the care my parents are getting so far. Mom isn't happy about being there, but it's better for her. They offer activities for the memory care unit, like exercises. The food seems okay; I haven't eaten there yet, but I plan to. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The community is clean and well-kept. I would recommend it.

"Assisted Living Review: Mom's Settling In Well"
Mom's getting used to it here, and she's doing okay. She's starting to join activities and making new friends. The staff is nice and makes us feel welcome. Mom hasn't said anything bad about the food. The place always smells good and looks clean. It seems like the owners take good care of it.

On my visit, I received feedback that the pricing was too high for me, and I had to think about the long distance. The community appeared clean, and the staff provided necessary care.

"Satisfied Visit to Senior Home"
I visited this place with my family for my loved one. We had a good time there. The staff came on time for our appointment and tried their best to help us. The building layout was nice, and they had many cool things for the residents. But, it didn't match what my mom needed in the end.

"Review of Sunrise of Crystal Lake Alzheimer's / Memory Care in Crystal Lake, IL"
The facility was really nice, with a cozy atmosphere. It's just a bit farther across town than we'd prefer. Cindy was wonderful to work with, but pricing is a bit confusing compared to other places.

"Great at accommodating my father-in-law"
Brookdale Prospect Heights has been really good at trying to help my father-in-law, who can be a bit of a challenge. He fell the first night he was there, and after a day or two, they suggested he needed more therapy. Now, he's back in his assisted living studio. He thinks he can do things quickly, which is tough to change at 88. I think the facility is doing the best they can given how difficult my father-in-law is. We'll see how things go from here.

"Mixed experience for moderately independent seniors, not ideal for blind."
If you're pretty self-sufficient, this place is nice. But it wasn't right for us. I worried about how long they took to help when we called. If my family member could see, maybe it would've been better. They said they had stuff for blind folks, but it didn't really help. Sometimes, she'd ring for help, and it'd take forever. Plus, she couldn't join in on many activities. If you're blind, it might not be great. But if you can do a lot on your own, it's alright.

"Great Place with Friendly Staff"
Overall, our experience with Brookdale Prospect Heights was good. The first night, they forgot to get her for dinner, which wasn’t great. Also, the head person didn’t tell us about signing a long contract, which was annoying. But other than that, it’s been a good experience. The nurses were really caring and made sure Mom got her meds on time. Overall, it’s a very nice place with friendly and excellent staff.

"Clean and Cozy Nursing Rooms"
The place is nice and clean, with well-laid-out nursing rooms. It's not too big, making it easy to find your way around. However, we'd appreciate a more extensive memory care program.

"Efficient Response Time and Varied Activities Make Dad Happy"
They're pretty good. When we call, they respond quickly. Not sure about call bells. Dad doesn't use them much. They have lots of activities. Dad loves the food, rates it at least 4.5. Especially enjoys desserts. Would like to see aides walking residents more. Needed skilled care, and they provided it.

"Pleasant Atmosphere, Great Food, But Parking Needs Improvement"
I really liked this place! Everyone was so nice and friendly. My husband loves the food here, and the place is super clean. But the parking situation isn't great. Still, compared to other places he's stayed at, this one's the best! The staff takes good care of him, and they're always smiling and helpful.

"Mixed Experience with Friendly Staff; Limited Activities Participation"
The staff is friendly and helpful, but they seem busy. Communication sometimes slips because there's only one head nurse. We had a problem with medication mix-up and billing. Activities are offered daily, but my dad doesn't join much. Mostly women participate; not many men. Monthly outings and movies are provided. The room size and layout are great. Overall, we're satisfied.

"Lower Price Indicates Poor Quality"
The facility carried the whiff of both pee and strong disinfectants. They kept emphasizing on their lower costs but the residents didn't even look properly dressed. All of them were just sitting there, oblivious and drooling, showing little participation in anything, which gave me an unsettling feeling.

"Great for Short-Term Stays, Less So for Permanent Care"
My mother stayed here for a 2-week respite, and everything was included. Emeritus is a smaller facility, so we never considered it for a permanent stay because of its size and the programs offered. I don’t think they have memory care, either. The place is beautiful, very clean, and the rooms and staff were excellent. I would highly recommend it for short-term stays, but maybe not for long-term nursing care. We saw a special about Emeritus that focused too much on one nursing home, which I think was unfair. Our experience was very good, even though the special was informative, it didn’t show Emeritus in the best light.

"Hoping to Return Soon"
She stayed here for respite care before moving in. The prices were pretty reasonable, much lower than other places in the area. She knew some of the staff, and they were familiar with her. Right now, we're working on her medication so she can go back. The care has been pretty good. She was sneaky with her medications, and they noticed and told us. She was in the general community, not the Alzheimer's unit, but her condition got worse quickly. They had people helping her get involved with games and activities. If we can get her medication right, we'll see if she can go back.

"Small, Old Assisted Living Excels in Parkinson’s Care"
The building is small and old. The facility focuses on Parkinson’s care and even has dogs and cats. They provide a special walker for Parkinson’s patients called the u-step. The room was nice, with a microwave and refrigerator in the closet. However, the common areas felt cramped and worn out. The staff seemed friendly, and most of them have been working there for around 14 years. They excel in Parkinson’s knowledge.
