Burr Ridge Senior Living (Opening Late 2018)

"Mixed experience at friendly assisted living, communication and dining noted."
Walking into the facility feels friendly and clean, which continues after four months. However, due to short staffing, laundry, housekeeping, and bathing schedules can change unexpectedly without informing residents. Better communication from the facility could improve this issue. Though apartments have laundry units, relying on facility services, especially for bedding, should be more consistent with scheduled care. Staff are responsive once concerns are raised, and they offer ample activities and friendly environment. Dining hours are early, which can be challenging for those used to later meals, despite kitchenettes in rooms.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Basic Services"
We were excited about this place, but it's not good. It looks nice at first and the people who try to sell it to you are very friendly, but what happens behind the scenes is not great. The food is not good. It's often cold or even still frozen for people who can't leave their rooms. Sometimes they forget to bring meals or they're hours late, and they don't do anything when you tell them. Even when they say sorry, the bad service doesn't stop. The food tastes like something from a bad cafeteria in the 1980s. It's like eating cardboard. People who live there have to pay for laundry and cleaning, but they don't do a good job. My mom's room has only been cleaned a few times in the six months she's been there. The therapy care is pretty good, but the nursing is just okay. Once you sign the papers, they don't seem to care about you anymore.

"Great Staff, Clean Place, Billing Concerns"
The staff is friendly, helpful, and caring. They keep me informed about any issues. The place is super clean, and there’s plenty for residents to do. My only concern was the lack of adjustment to meal charges during my loved one’s hospitalization.

"Decent Place, But Not the Best for Mom"
We decided not to choose this place because it seemed old and wasn’t in the best spot for my mom. It was obvious they needed more staff. Having to get food and eat in her room instead of a dining area wasn’t what we wanted. We really did like the building and the staff there. But the way everything was arranged just didn’t feel as good as some other places we’ve seen.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
We kinda like this place. It's priced okay and looks pretty new. But there's room for improvement. Dinner's a hassle because the dining room's closed. Residents have to fetch their meals and take them back to their rooms. We expected it to be open by now, especially with COVID being less of a concern. But we get it, they're short-staffed. And activities? Not much happening there. They promised a buddy system, but it hasn't happened. So, our loved one doesn't have much to do right now.

"Assisted Living Provides Comfortable Care with Varied Food, Staff Challenges"
They have tried their best to make my mom feel comfortable and included in activities. Medical care visits her several times a day, ensuring she gets the right therapy and medications. Special team members check in on her daily, which has lifted a significant burden from us. The food quality varies. Their Covid updates are very informative. The main issue, like many places now, is employee turnover. They have lost some excellent staff members that are hard to replace.
