"Assisted Living Facility Review: Convenient Location and Responsive Staff"
We had a virtual tour, which was good. The location was convenient on my way to work, so I could be there if anything happened. The lady who managed the place followed up with us several times, which was nice.

"Incompetent management and care at Fox Point Assisted Living Facility"
My dad called this place home for more than six years. We really loved it until the new director took over. She doesn't really act with professionalism, nor does she seem to care about the residents. Most of the staff members are nice but they basically don't have the proper training. There's a lot that has happened over these past few months, but one incident was particularly nasty. On a certain day [date removed], my dad had a fall and got taken to the emergency room. Imagine how shocked I was when the ER nurse told me that Fox Point had called to say my dad wasn't welcomed back. Keep in mind, my dad is a respectable, blind WWII veteran who never missed a payment in the 95 years that he lived. The cherry on top was when I was going through his box of meds and found some that were not only expired but weren't even his and which also hadn't been refrigerated.

"Impressed with staff’s care for our mother’s medical needs"
When our mom moved in, she had some big medical needs. I’ve been really impressed with how the staff takes care of her. It’s reassuring to know she’s in good hands and that we made the right choice.

"Communication Challenges and Lack of Follow-Up; Chef's Effort Appreciated"
It was really hard to talk to them. They didn't call back even when I left messages. Nobody was there when I came. The chef tried to help me understand things as best as he could.

"Spacious rooms, happy residents, food could improve."
"The rooms were nice and big, like real apartments. People there looked like they were having fun. When I talked to some of them, they said the only thing they didn't like was the food."

"Nice People, Old and Neglected Facility"
The folks were pretty nice there. However, the place looked really old and worn out. Despite having so much space, it's all overgrown. The carpets seem like they've never been changed. The building used to be gorgeous when it was new. I went there for a special function. Left me feeling pretty let down.

"Great Staff and Support at Fox Point"
We had a great experience with the Marketing and Welcome staff. The move-in went smoothly because the staff was so helpful. Sadly, Mom's health wasn't good, and she could only stay at Fox Point for a week. The business manager was very understanding and gave us some financial relief because of our short stay. I would recommend Fox Point to other family members. I just wish Mom could have enjoyed everything they offer.

"Pleasant Community Tour"
I had a really nice tour of this community. Everything went smoothly, and everyone was friendly. The community looked good from what I saw—it was clean and nice. The staff I met were helpful, and they answered my questions. Overall, it was a positive experience. Although it wasn’t the right facility for my mother, the tour went well.

"We liked it until she moved in"
My mom has been finding it tough to adjust to living at this community. The other residents don't seem friendly, and the staff isn't very engaging. On the bright side, they do offer some activities that she's started participating in. We're hopeful that things will improve as she spends more time here. The community is clean, and the food is great. There's a pleasant sitting area outside with a view of the garden.

""Uninviting atmosphere and neglectful care!!""
This place didn't impress me at all and I certainly wouldn't like my mom staying here. While I was taking a look around, I noticed it was a pretty gloomy place. Plus, those living in the memory care section were seemingly left to fend for themselves. They need to be treated as humans, not objects.

"Tour This Community for Senior Care"
We checked out this place for care. The staff were nice and answered our questions about the care they provide. The place looked clean, and the food options seemed good. However, the room wasn't what we hoped for, it was too small. We think other families should visit here for their loved one's care.

"Mother Well Cared for in Pleasant Community"
My mom's doing okay, and they're taking good care of her and her needs. The place is nice, and I'm happy with what they've done for us. The staff here is great, and they're looking after my mom really well. I'm sure she's getting excellent care. The place is kept up nicely, and they're good at keeping it clean. No problems with this place; I'd recommend it.

"Navigating A New Home Near Loved Ones"
My mom's doing alright. We joined the community in November and are still getting used to things. The staff is guiding us and teaching us about the community. I'm learning about all the services and fun things they do here. We chose this community because it's close to family.

"Too remote and larger than we needed!"
This place is really far out in the countryside. When you look out the windows, all you see are fields and trees. It has as much, if not more, to offer than the community we chose. The person we met on our tour was friendly and helpful. However, this community was a bit larger than what we wanted.

"Comfortable Stay with Caring Staff"
My mom stayed here briefly because she wanted to be at home. The workers tried hard to make her feel comfortable and met her needs as best they could. She tried out a few activities, but there weren't many. They took good care of her and kept her safe during her stay.

"Friendly Staff, Inadequate Understanding of Typical Alzheimer's Behaviors"
Our father, who's dealing with mid-stage Alzheimer's, stayed at this memory care center for a fortnight. The staff was friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about the residents. However, there were several instances where they had problems with my father's behavior. Based on our research and confirmations from the Illinois Ombudsman, his behavior was pretty standard for Alzheimer's patients. We got a call on a Tuesday afternoon, asking us to remove our dad from the facility and were told he could not return. As you can imagine, this caused a panic as we had to arrange immediate care for him while looking for another facility. This seemed unfair and heartless. We did visit and talk to some other facilities and professionals in the field. They all confirmed that my dad's behavior was indeed expected of Alzheimer's patients, and that Fox Pointe's response isn't typical of quality care institutions that have appropriate procedures and programs. If you're thinking about this facility for your loved one, just remember they may not be equipped to handle common Alzheimer's behaviors.

My grandma really likes it there. They talk to us well, and she says the food is good. We haven't had any big problems. She just wishes there were more things to do.

"Disappointment at Fox Point Assisted Living"
We were excited about going to Fox Point before my mom got sick, but we never got there. We felt really let down because they promised us a refund since my mom wasn’t using their services. But when she didn’t move in after leaving the hospital and rehab, they changed their minds.

"So glad we found Fox Point Manor!"
I’m so happy we found Fox Point Manor. My mom was in memory care. All the staff were warm, caring, and kind. I can’t say enough good things about them! They did an amazing job taking care of her personal, mental, and health needs. She was always treated with dignity and respect. We felt like part of the Fox Point Manor family too.
