"Mixed Experience at Franciscan Court"
We visited Franciscan Court, and it was really nice—I preferred this location. The sales director was super friendly and gave us great advice. However, we decided against it because the residents seemed to require more care than my mom did. For instance, in the dining room, it was eerily quiet with no socializing. I felt my mom needed more interaction.

"Assisted Living Staff Exceeds Expectations; Food Quality Needs Improvement"
The staff at this assisted living facility is excellent. They go out of their way to improve my dad's stay. However, the food quality disappoints him. With Covid restrictions easing, I hope they'll offer more activities.

"Not Recommended for Alzheimer's Care"
I wouldn't suggest placing your loved one here, especially if they have Alzheimer's. My mom had Alzheimer's, and they initially claimed they could handle it. However, after just 2 weeks, they informed me that I needed to move her out because they couldn't manage her. Overall, it was a negative experience.

"Kind, community-focused care with attentive staff and owners"
My friend has been at Franciscan Court for over three years. I am very happy with her care. This family-owned place feels like a community and gives kind care. I always felt sure my friend was well taken care of and I was told about any concerns. There was always someone to talk to me. Any request I had was handled by the staff. The owners' kindness and gentleness are felt throughout the place. I am thankful they were there for my friend.

"Feels like family!"
Franciscan Court is a very nice place. They treat my uncle like family. The staff is super friendly, caring, and always attentive to his needs. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. They welcome all of us when we visit, making us feel like part of the family too. My uncle is still getting used to his new home, but the staff really encourages him to join in the activities they offer. They even provide transportation for shopping trips and other outings. The grounds are well-kept, with nice courtyards and patios for fresh air. This community is a great value for the money. I would highly recommend it to friends and family.

"Mom Needs a More Attentive Care Home"
This place only had one person looking after eighteen residents. It seems like it's better suited for folks who don't need as much help. They gave my mom too much medication and made her sleep in her bed, not her chair. She fell from her bed twice, but they didn't tell us that was why she went to the hospital. After she got out of the hospital, they made us pay for a full-time caregiver, 'cause they just didn't have enough time to take good care of her.

"Cozy Home Like Feel with Room for Improvement"
Since choosing this place, it's been pretty good. The rugs are nice, and the staff chats with us. They play music, so it doesn't feel like a big institution. It's not too big, so the staff can easily watch over everyone. It feels like home, and the owner is friendly. Their family also works here. I think they could do better at organizing our things and keeping everything tidy. Overall, I can have fun and feel taken care of.

"Great Activities and Staff!"
My mom adjusted well thanks to the staff. She's thrilled about not doing dishes and getting three meals a day. She loves all the fun activities, especially bingo, though she wishes it was more than once a week. I have no complaints and would recommend this place to anyone.

"Family-Owned Assisted Living with Updates and Localist Appeal"
Good things about this place: it's not overwhelmingly big, and it feels more like a community. You'll find some religious services happening right there and it's nice that it's family-owned. It is conveniently near to a lot of our family members' homes. It's good to see that they're making efforts to improve the place by updating and renovating it. Since it's the first such home we've visited, we can't really compare it with others. We did notice that all the people we met there seemed truly caring and kind.

"A Lovely Home for Mom"
Franciscan Court is super nice! It's not too big, with around 70 people living there. They have just enough fun stuff to do, and everyone can join in. It's clean, bright, and everyone is so nice. We're happy we chose it for our mom.

"2-Star Review: Uninviting Facility with Sparse Menu and Assigned Seating"
The folks here are kind, but the facility itself wasn't very cozy and it needed some upgrading. The furniture was well-used and the carpets were out of date. All the bathrooms had were a sink, a toilet, and a curtain - there weren't even any vanities. The whole place felt bland and uninviting. I also didn't see any railing in the hallways for the residents to hang on to if they needed help walking. Plus, there wasn't much room in the hallways for people to hang out. Even the TV room they had was too small. I also wasn't happy with the food options. They provided me with a sample menu for the week, and guess what? Sandwiches for dinner every single night. I didn't like the fact that there were no other options to choose from. You had to eat what was on the menu. To top it all off, there were designated seats for all meals - no freedom to choose where you wanted to sit.

"The apartment is very nice"
The apartment is very nice. The people are very friendly. The CNAs do their best with the number of people they have to help. They need more activities for the residents. The physical therapy started right away to make her stronger and able to do more. The food is good. The dining room is a little cramped.

"Caution: Facilities' Attitudes Change with Medicaid Transition!"
Be cautious! When your loved ones transition from privately paying to Medicaid-supported, the team's attitudes seem to shift. If residing in a 1-bedroom unit, they will be requested to move to a studio apartment. The planned activities aren’t exciting, and your relative will be put at a preset spot for meals, which might be upsetting for them. Our family has had over two years' experience with this situation. I've visited other assisted living communities that feel far more inviting and pleasant. They do NOT expect individuals to shift their belongings and home when they transition to Medicaid-support, and they do not find it suitable to designate seating for these elderly individuals. Stay alert! There are better alternatives available elsewhere.

"Unpleasant Experience at Franciscan Court's Supportive Living Facility"
Our relative was alright as a private pay resident for the first two years at the Supportive Living' facility Franciscan Court (FC). But when they ran out of assets and started relying on Medicaid to pay rent, problems arose. They were forced to shift from a 1-bedroom apartment to a studio. I later discovered this is not a policy at other similar places. This was hard for our loved one. Another problem I had was the seating arrangements in the dining room. They had fixed spots and would randomly move residents around, which feels disrespectful to the residents who are independent. It's demeaning and feels like they are treating them like kids. Other homes we've seen don't do this. The moment my family member switched to Medicaid support and had minor health issues, the administrators weren't as friendly and supportive as before. Things got hard if you weren't a private pay. They were all business. This makes me question whether they should even be classified as a Supportive Living Facility (SLF). We've since checked out other facilities and wonder why we picked FC in the first place. Recently, my family member had to leave FC's home to recover in a rehab center after a surgery. Their discharging process was mean and unpleasant, but now we see there are better options around. We believe our loved one will have a better life at another place. Simply put, compared to other places, FC doesn't have much to offer. Their staff were good, but the administration was disappointing.

"Warm and Friendly Care, but Accessibility Needs Improvement"
I really liked this place because it’s run by a family, not a big company. They're very nice and really take the time to know you. However, they don’t have enough staff. They’re better at connecting with people here. You can really see the contrast between a family-owned spot and a big company. The only thing I didn’t like was they have a button for handicapped people to open the door, but it didn’t work. It was tough for me to manage the door with my dad's wheelchair. That didn’t make sense to me.

""Supportive Living: Accepts Medicaid After 2 Years, Considers Memory Care""
The assisted living facility generally needs two years of private payment before accepting Medicaid. Currently, they do not have a separate area for memory care, but they are considering adding a special floor for it. They have companion rooms available, as well as additional options based on assessments. To start an assessment, they will require a list of behaviors and medications.
