"Disappointed Resident Regrets Moving to New Facility"

I settled into this place not long ago. I’ve always been taught to whip up two fresh recipes each week because I’m self-reliant and I did well living in a CILA for more than 21 years. I believe if the staff wouldn’t eat their own cooking, they shouldn’t work here. That’s just how it goes in food service, and I get that. At first, I felt hopeful because someone greeted me warmly and asked, “What order are you in?” But we hadn’t finished our rule, I explained to the nun. They wanted me to help out at mass, but then I got pancreatitis. A sister, whose name I’ll keep to myself, left a message on my door. It read, “If [name removed] wants to come back to mass, he needs to look after his mental and physical health first.” I replied on the same note, “If the sister had a mental illness, she wouldn’t be a sister!” But the administration ignored it, and nothing was fixed. There’s just one person who calls me brother and some of the folks I know here have said mean things right to my face. They’ve called me two-faced and other names… I’m starting to feel like moving here was a mistake.

"Great Care and Services!"

My friend lives at Celebrate Senior Living of Niles. The staff pays attention to residents' needs. Meals change each month and are balanced. Housekeeping is good. They offer on-site Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Overall, my friend is happy, and I'd consider this place for myself if needed.

"Needs Repairs, but Good Care Overall"

My husband is on their 55-bed floor, which should be on the first floor. When he had physical therapy, it was great. He likes the food, but I am concerned because there’s only one working elevator and the building needs repairs. He is taken care of, but like all nursing homes, they are short-staffed. He is warm, fed, and his diaper is changed, but I worry about him.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

The workers are really nice and they take good care of everyone's health and food. They are always working ahead to help my family member. I think other people should check out this place too. They have a good plan for covid and they make sure everyone is safe.

"Wonderful care and family-like atmosphere with clean, older building"

Mom receives excellent care from the amazing staff! They genuinely care about everyone and treat them like family. The building is older but is clean and well-kept.

"Grounds Maintenance Needs Improvement"

Overall, we're happy with Mom's care. The food needs improvement—except for the soup. Dinners lack fresh fruit and veggies, and even grilled cheese disappoints. The staff is nice and helpful, keeping Mom comfortable. However, the grounds need attention.

"Highly Impressive Assisted Living!"

I'm really impressed with your retirement community, services, and accommodations. While I don't currently require the level of care provided in your independent living setting, I'll definitely keep you in mind as my needs change. I won't hesitate to recommend your location to others seeking independent living.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

Out of 50 stars, this old building, once a Catholic nuns' residence, doesn't look great. They try to make up for it with affordable prices, but the small, cramped suites—especially the bathrooms—can't be overlooked. The bathrooms might not even meet ADA standards. I wouldn't want my Dad or anyone with mobility issues living here. Our contact person, , was friendly but lacked knowledge about assisted living. He didn't properly compare the two types, and he focused on me instead of my father. Overall, the residents seemed inactive.

"Impressive Community with Happy Residents"

Such a lovely place! The Catholic chapel is beautiful, and the residents seemed really happy. [Removed] was friendly and knew everyone by name. Definitely considering it.

"Neglected Resident's Health in Uncompassionate, Profit-Focused Facility"

Before my grandma moved into this place, she was in good health. But just three months into her stay here, she was gone. Instead of acting promptly and getting her to a hospital, they just let her health keep getting worse and worse. Their way of handling things? More and more medications. I spent three long months trying to get a response from their doctor, but I never heard anything back. This place is not about providing a top-notch quality of life for its residents. It feels more like a warehouse for seniors, where the main focus isn't the well-being of the residents, but how much money can be made. Even in the midst of financial struggles, the social worker was generous enough to remind me that they aren't running a charity.

"Quiet Community, Dark and Unappealing Decor"

The community was really quiet. The decorations were dark and not nice, which wasn't good for my loved one.
