"Friendly staff and clean environment, with room for improvement."
The staff is friendly, but can be more attentive. Housekeeping is good, place is clean. Communication with family is solid. Move-in process was simple. They should fix the Life Loop app and create a welcome packet.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
We had some issues with the assisted living place. They didn't give us a call button right away, which took two whole months. But when our family member needed hospice care, the care got better. Sometimes, the staff didn't talk well with each other. It took them three months to figure out our family member's meal plan. The night staff wasn't always the same, which was confusing. But when our family member died, the staff were really nice to us. If something was wrong, all my brothers and sisters heard about it, which was stressful. It felt like they promised too much.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience, High Costs, Poor Management"
"This place was recommended by PFM, but it's been tough from the start. When we moved in, the apartment wasn't even cleaned, and they didn't keep many of their promises. They pressured us to commit. Then, they lost our Mom's bed and gave it to someone else, saying they placed it in storage but couldn't find it. The food was okay, but they've lost all their staff since March. The new director is hardly ever around, even though she started in October. She's already been on three vacations. She wasn't there during a severe cold spell when residents lost heat. They gave us old space heaters with no safety features. There was no food service and no heat for three days. Everyone we knew on staff has quit. Agency nurses are running the place, and while the head nurse is nice, she's overwhelmed. There's hardly any food selection. When my mother got COVID, they didn't bring her breakfast until 11 am, even after we asked them several times, and it was cold. The cost is high for such poor care, no heat, and limited food options. We've tried to work with them, but they just can't deliver. The front staff is nice but overwhelmed.

This place is good for what you pay. It's clean and pretty new. The staff is okay.

"Men's Club Sets HarborChase Apart"
We picked HarborChase of Long Grove because they mentioned a men's club. Most places have more women, so that's why we chose it. The transition could've been smoother; management had an issue, and their promises weren't kept. Overall, we're happy and would recommend them.

"Mixed Staffing Quality, Friendly Atmosphere in Combined Memory Care & Assisted Living Facility"
Above average facility. It's convenient to have memory care and assisted living together. The staff changes a lot. Night shift workers in memory care are contractors with minimal training. Assisted living staff are employees and are better trained. The staff is very friendly and makes an effort to know residents by name.

"Great care, but management has been unresponsive and unhelpful."
HarborChase is very clean, and the care for my mother is great. It’s the best place for her. However, I have major issues with the management. In February, a flood destroyed all my mother’s belongings. When I asked where her stuff was, they said they didn’t know. They haven’t settled anything and gave her a replacement bed that isn’t hers. The director and staff don’t return calls, and the mailbox is always full. The management is terrible, and I’m considering legal action. They’ve already settled damages with their insurance. My mother’s coat and dentures are missing. While the workers are excellent, management fails to follow through on promises. My mother is well cared for, dressed, clean, and groomed, which is much better than her previous place.

"Beautiful and clean facility, worth the expense with excellent staff."
HarborChase is a lovely place, though pricey, it's worth every penny. The place is spotless, and during our tour, the sales coordinator was outstanding. Always available and explained everything clearly.
