"Balanced Review: Caring Staff, Needs More Caregivers"
Likes: The lady at the front desk is super nice and helpful. The person in charge of Memory Care really listens to me. It’s a quick 25-minute trip to see my Mom. Dislikes: They need more people to take care of the residents. I think because there aren’t enough caregivers, Mom isn’t joining in as many activities as she could.

"Dedicated Care with Room for Improvement"
HarborChase memory care was suggested by my relatives. I visited my husband daily for meals. He moved here during COVID-19, so we saw the staff shortages. Now in 2023, there are more staff in memory care.

It took some getting used to, leaving my home and moving to a retirement community. But over time, I’ve adjusted well. Plus, I’ve made many new friends.

"Disturbing Lack of Care at Expensive Assisted Living Facility"
I can't recommend this place at all. They may seem nice until you sign the paperwork, and then suddenly they don't bother with you. When I spoke to a guy who knew about elder abuse, he told me these places care more about getting a body in a room and getting paid. HarborChase was a pretty rough ride. They didn't keep me in the loop about how my family member was doing. I even heard a staff member yelling at a person with dementia, which was pretty horrifying to overhear. It felt like they didn't really care, they just wanted my [amount removed] each month. It comes down to selfishness and not really caring about what's best for the elderly. The government really needs to step in to improve the quality of these places for seniors.

"Staff and Location Concerns at HarborChase of Naperville"
We visited HarborChase of Naperville, but it's farther from home than I preferred. The staff there didn't seem as friendly or experienced as the people at other places we checked out.
