"Facility Lacks Personal Care; Nurse Required"
This facility is only for people who can take care of themselves. They don't help with tasks such as handling catheter care or assisting with bathroom needs. I'd need to hire my own nurse.

"Heritage Woods of Batavia: Unkind Staff, High Costs, Poor Service"
Do not even think about putting your family member in Heritage Woods of Batavia. I've had someone there for years and the turnover rate among the CNAs is too high. Some of them are extremely rude to the residents and the residents' families - it's completely disrespectful. If you need any kind of help from the management, don't expect to get it. Watch out for hidden costs - if your relative needs to go to a rehab facility, you'll still get charged daily to keep their apartment, on top of the regular rent. If you don't pay, they'll kick you out right away, along with all of your family's possessions. The food service is horrible, and there aren't enough servers. When a resident needs help, instead of assisting, the staff finds ways to remove them to make room for the next resident. They're keeping score. This place is like a revolving door, so watch out.

"Rooms are nice, but move-out is quick."
I don’t recommend Heritage Woods unless you’re highly functional. Not enough staff for extra care or activities. Some CNAs aren’t engaging. Rooms are nice, but they’ll move you out quickly.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I've noticed that things aren't quite as promised. The transportation to doctors is very limited and not free. Even though my doctor is just a mile into DuPage county (not Kane county), I was told they'd provide transportation. Now, as my funds run low, I don't see any help coming. On the bright side, my room is good, and the CNA's are very nice, although I don't require much assistance.

"“Aunt Thrives at Assisted Living”"
After my mom passed, we brought my aunt here. She initially disliked the change, but now she loves it and looks better than she has in 20 years. Every day is something she looks forward to. Thank you!

"A Good Tour with Informative Manager"
I had a good tour of the community and met with the manager on site. I liked this place. It didn't seem much different from other communities. The manager was focused and gave us good information.

My mom recently moved into Heritage Woods, and I’m thrilled with how friendly the staff has been. They’ve introduced themselves and explained everything to her. As a family member, I feel confident she’s well cared for. I also appreciate their warm welcome to me, including meals and activities.

"A Blessing for Mom and Family"
My 93-year-old mom has been here for more than 6 years. She had surgery and got sick sometimes. She went to other places for rehab after that, but she always worked hard to get back to Heritage Woods, her 'home.' She made friends here who make her feel happy, and she joins in lots of activities. The people in the office know a lot and are always ready to help us. The great nurses and most of the caregivers work hard to understand her needs as they change. This Mother's Day, Mom couldn't go out, so Heritage Woods let us use a special dining room just for us. We brought brunch, and they set up everything we needed like plates and drinks and made sure everything was perfect. It was! Mom feels comfortable, respected, and treated kindly and with dignity. I'm so glad she lives here. It's really a blessing.
