"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility: Unreliable Staff, Billing Issues & Neglect"
So, we show up to move into this assisted living place and another family is on their way out, looking super unhappy – and the guy even told us, "good luck!" I had a hunch that they hadn't had the best experience there. Here's what's wrong: * The office crew keeps changing. Seriously, it's a revolving door. * The bills are wacky - they're different every month and always confusing. * The people who welcome you tell you they'll help arrange rides to the doc. That was just a half-truth. They also said they'd look after diabetes-related stuff, but that ended up being a lie too. * When I FaceTime with my relative, the staff barge in like they own the place and start shouting. * And, worst of all, the residents who struggle with using the toilet are left to wallow in their messes. Take a stroll down the halls for a real-life glimpse of this.

"Friendly Staff and Tidy Community"
The community is good considering the cost. The staff were friendly during the tour, and the place was tidy.

"Disorganized Billing and Lack of Activities: Not Recommended Assisted Living"
The place is all mixed up with the bills, and they don't have a good way to pay. They never give us bills for my family member, and when I call to ask about it, it's tough to get anyone to talk to. Since COVID, they haven't had any fun things for the people living there to do, so they're just stuck in their rooms. My family member tries to make the best of it, but we're not happy. When we moved in, they didn't have all the papers they needed, and there's no set time for when things will get done. In general, I wouldn't tell anyone to go here; we're really annoyed.

"Great Option with Helpful Staff"
I really liked the facility. The Marketing Director was very helpful. It's definitely an option.

"Total Disaster: Understaffed, Insecure, and Nonfunctional"
This place needs to be closed. They don't have enough staff, all the directors left, there's no one in charge of activities and not enough caregivers. The bus sits unused because there's no driver, no security exists, and theft happens a lot. People have to wait for ages after pushing emergency buttons, there's no exercise classes, and the food is awful. To call this 'assisted living' is just ridiculous.

"Cozy, but Not for Our Needs"
This place feels like a cozy home and it's kept nice and tidy. The Supportive Living program seems really nice for elders who might run out of money. But if you want more freedom, it might not be the best fit.

"Not a Good Fit: Issues at Assisted Living Facility"
My dad's not doing great since he moved here. The care staff has had some problems. He's fallen a lot, and one of the employees from him. I don't think this place suits his needs.

"Bad Experience: Dad Not Well and Issues with Staff"
Since my dad moved to this place, things haven't been good. We've had problems with the staff caring for him. He's fallen many times, and even worse, one worker [Removed] from him. I don't believe this place is what he needs.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Let me start by saying the caregivers are great! They take excellent care of the residents, which is most important to us. The dining room needs improvement. Staff can be rude, food is mediocre, sometimes cold or overcooked. There have been bedbug cases, but they handle it. Concerned about virus cleanliness. Administration is okay, but turnover is a bit high. Resident feedback seems ignored. Value for money is low, but it's cheaper. 1-bedroom apartments are spacious. Activities lack variety, mostly religious. Limited options for other religions.

"Awesome nurses, crummy dining, okay value, lacking activities"
First, I gotta say the nursing assistants are awesome! They take good care of the people living here which matters most to us. But the dining place is a mess. The people working there are disrespectful, always gloomy and they don't pay attention to the residents. The food's just okay...once in a while there's something yummy, but most of the time it's just premade/ frozen meals that are usually served cold or burnt. This place had a couple of bedbug issues, but they know how to deal with it...I mean, you can't control bugs that new residents might bring along. But there was also this virus going around that's been sending folks to the hospital. That's got me wondering how well they clean the place. The control room kinda sucks. They've had some people leave in the past years. They have once-a-month meetings to listen to the residents but they don't seem to care or do anything about it. As for your money's worth...well it's expensive - BUT it's one of the more affordable places around and if your family member is on Medicaid or needs it, you don't have that many choices. My family members stay in a one-bedroom apartment which is pretty spacious. The activities are pretty similar and a lot of them deal with religion...that's cool if you're into that sort of thing and belong to their religion, but if you're not they don't have anything for you. .

"Bed Bugs and Poor Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
The assistants here are great, and the nurses are kind too. However, beyond them, the others show nothing but attitude. The worst part? We discovered they had a bed bug infestation and weren't informed! We had to relocate my mom due to this issue. I absolutely cannot recommend this place to anyone.

"Beware: Negativity and Bed Bugs Abound"
The caregivers here are great, and the nurses are pleasant too. But beyond that, it's just a lot of negativity. I had to relocate my mum because this place has bed bugs, and they didn't even have the decency to notify us. I would never suggest this place to anyone.

"Ideal location for us"
My mother-in-law has been at Heritage Woods for almost 3 weeks. The location is great because we live nearby. Her apartment was clean and ready when she moved in. The maintenance man was very helpful with hanging pictures and other tasks. We are mostly happy with everything. The CNAs and staff are very kind and helpful. I do have two concerns: I wish they had someone at the front desk 24/7 for security reasons. Also, I had dinner there once and a resident said they use mostly frozen, prepackaged foods instead of fresh ingredients. I need to ask about that. Other than those two things, we are pleased.

"Clean, Caring Assisted Living: Recommended for Seniors"
The people who work here are really nice and friendly. The place where we eat and the whole building are kept clean and look nice and cheerful. They even decorate for holidays, and they have special events sometimes. I think Heritage Woods is a good choice.

"A Mishandled Incident"
My family member stayed at the assisted living facility for about a year. Overall, they did a decent job taking care of her. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly. However, I had to keep reminding the nurse to make sure my loved one got her showers, even though I had requested them twice a week. Unfortunately, there was a mishandled incident earlier this year. My loved one fell, and an X-ray of her foot didn't show anything. The nurse didn't take direct action and relied on the aides for feedback. Despite my loved one's complaints of ankle pain, the nurse didn't order an ankle X-ray. It turned out her ankle was dislocated and broken. Thankfully, a family member arranged for her to go to the hospital for surgery.

"Negligence in Care at Assisted Living: Broken Ankle Overlooked"
My family member was a resident for about a year and overall, the care was satisfactory. The facility was clean, well maintained, and the aides were kind and welcoming. My family member was self-sufficient, requiring only assistance for showers and medication. However, I was continually requesting that the staff ensure the showers were provided at least twice a week as per my instructions. Earlier this year, we experienced a distressing situation. My family member had a fall and, despite an x-ray of the foot revealing nothing, she continued to complain about ankle pain. The nurse, instead of handling the situation directly, seemed to act more as a manager, taking feedback from the aides but not actioning anything. Despite complaints of pain, no order for an ankle x-ray was requested and family members were consistently reassured by the nurse that she was closely watching the situation. Several days later, when a family member finally got the chance to inspect the injury, it was clear that an injury to the ankle had been overlooked. In reality, it was dislocated and fractured. A family member then organized transport to a hospital, leading to urgent surgery.
