"Headline: "Negligent Staff and Lack of Care Causes Serious Injury""
My dad was taken to this place by ambulance - I was there when he arrived. My biggest worry was that he might roll out of bed since it didn't have any safety rails, and they didn't use a bed alarm. In 2017, this wasn't a huge deal, but I still wanted him to have one. They said he'd get one and asked me to leave, but I wasn't sure it would happen. I noticed there was only one person working and someone else was stuck behind a desk. I ate dinner with Dad, then left to clean up at home. . The alarms were going off everywhere, but the staff didn't respond. Besides, they didn't know about my Dad's fall, but they somehow knew it had happened just after I'd left. This made me think they left him on the floor without help. Dad broke his back. They didn't seem to care at all, so I took him back to Barnes. If you want your loved one to suffer and pass away, send them here. Plus, the staff is really rude.

"Decline in Quality at Meridian Assisted Living"
Before, I thought Meridian was great. We’ve had family and friends stay in their Rehab unit, and a buddy of mine lives in Vintage Gardens. But lately, it’s like everything’s gone bad. Vintage Gardens is not clean, and finding a staff member is like a game of hide-and-seek, except almost nobody’s playing. The few old-timers who are around can’t do everything. The dining hall’s a mess. Trying to get a cup of coffee? Good luck. There’s no sugar, no creamer, nothing. We had to go on a 20-minute mission just to find someone in the kitchen for some creamer. And from around 10:30 until lunchtime, it’s like a ghost town. My friend likes to eat late, but now she gets no hot food or even someone to chat with. It’s the same story every day. It wasn’t like this before. The Rehab unit used to be so welcoming with its clean spaces and the kitchen staff’s friendly smiles. Now, that’s all gone. It’s dirty, the staff seem unhappy, and you can’t even tell who works there. There was this one guy, dressed in regular clothes, not friendly at all, blasting rap music. It makes me think they’re just hiring anyone now, or maybe they don’t care. I used to rave about Meridian, even gave it more than five stars. Not anymore. It’s unclean, unprofessional, and a letdown. I won’t be recommending it to anyone. It’s sad to see such a change, especially when Meridian used to be a place that had it all for older folks. It’s just sad and a letdown.

"Money over care."
Meridian cares more about money than residents' well-being.

"Meridian Falls Short and Fails to Truly Care"
Just so you know, Meridian is a money-making operation! Their game plan? Rake in loads of dough by giving your loved ones meals and beds, then either plop them in front of a TV all day or just leave them in bed. Heads up... if your loved one requires extra care, get ready to shell out for an aide at over $21 per hour. Check the numbers... this can add up to thousands a month! If Meridian isn't offering the care your loved one deserves - and should be getting considering their steep monthly fees - you may have to look elsewhere. They simply don't have the manpower to step up and really look after your loved ones!

"Patio Homes in Demand Long Wait, No Visits Possible."
They have a 2 year waiting list for the patio homes. We couldn't see one because they're all taken.

"Good with Some Communication Issues"
This place is really good. The workers were friendly and could answer most of our questions, but we misunderstood a few things about her treatment. The place seemed clean and well-kept. They also have activities for the people living there. We would tell other families to visit this place if they're looking for somewhere to take care of their family member.

"Lengthy Wait List"
I really liked this community. However, they had a long wait list at the time, which I can understand. The inside was nice, clean, and not outdated—it felt like home. The staff was friendly and helpful during our tour. They seemed to offer plenty of activities for residents. The only major issue I had was the wait list, but overall, it's a very nice place.

"Clean and well-kept, but too far from home. Overall nice."
"Our visit to Meridian Village was good, but a bit far from where we live. It was super clean and looked after well. Overall, it was nice, just not what we needed right now."

"Not the Best Fit for My Mom’s Care Needs"
I visited this place for my mom. I didn’t like the memory care unit because it wasn’t what I expected, and I think my mom would have been unhappy there. The care is too expensive for what you get. The staff were nice, but the whole place felt pretty gloomy. This wasn’t the right fit for my mom's needs. Families should check if this community works for them.
