"Lackluster Assisted Living Facility Neglects Residents' Needs"
My mom's room always had bugs, which lasted for over a year. I had to move her out of there. It seemed like they cared more about money than anything else. Plus, my mom didn't have hot water for a whole month.

"Staff turnover concerns at Cedarhurst of Troy"
I’d tell other families considering Cedarhurst of Troy that there’s a lot of staff changes right now. Because of this, I wouldn’t suggest it.

"Friendly Staff, Medication Delays, and Caring Atmosphere"
My 84-year-old mom started in a wheelchair but now uses a walker after PT and OT at Cedarhurst. She likes her meals, room, and the activity director. It took over 2 months to get her meds from Medexpress, and she went 3 days without pain medication. They promise it won’t happen again. The doctor called the health director multiple times, but no one returned the calls. I gave her the number, and she got the report. Friendly staff, everyone knows residents by first names.

"Concerns About New Director and Lack of Care in Facility"
Ever since the new director took over and the coronavirus hit, I don't think my mom gets the sincere care she needs. No one bothers to check in with the residents or their families. And when I call, the director acts like I'm a bother, often displaying a rude attitude. She has even been frightfully rude to my mom. My mom pays a lot of money to live here and she deserves to be treated with respect, kindness, and dignity. I hope someone higher up in the company steps up and investigates these issues thoroughly.

"Unsatisfactory conditions and care at Morningside Assisted Living"
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS REVIEW! The Fountains of Troy has been taken over by new management and is now called: Morningside Assisted Living. Sadly, the standards and quality have dropped unlike when it was The Fountains. My grandma has resided here since August 2013. Back then, we were both happy with the place. But ever since it changed owners, the place has gone downhill. They are often short-staffed because employees leave their jobs suddenly. This results in slow response times when assistance is needed. The housekeeping service is also lacking. Several nurses told me that the housekeeper's work was substandard. The carpet in my grandma's room and the hallways are always dirty with visible stains. Even after asking twice, her floors were not cleaned, and I had to personally scrub the bathroom floor. We were assured a housecleaning schedule, but that has not been accomplished. If my grandma soils the toilet, the nurses don't clean it. Their laundry room is unsanitary, and the washing machine is grimy. The worst part was when I came to visit my Grandma on a Saturday afternoon. She was soaked in urine and was sitting with feces. She was crying out for help for a long time but no one came to assist her. In the four days I spent with her, every nurse who helped us was new and knew nothing about the facility's operations. The kitchen and night staff are polite and helpful, but some of them don't seem suited to the job. A kitchen worker ended up hurting my Grandma's arm while taking her to the dining room. I got blamed for a situation by a nurse and was wrongly banned from the premises. Now, I'm fighting to get back into the facility to take care of my grandma during her final days. If you are reading this review, I would advise you to find another place for your loved ones.

"Great care, needs better food"
The staff at The Fountains of Troy are great. They did a wonderful job taking care of Dad. The community has a lot of activities for residents. Dad didn't like the food there.

"Expensive Facility with Poor Food and Limited Activities"
The meals here are really bad! Even hospitals serve better food. It seems like everything comes straight from a can or a package. This place is super expensive. They should be serving food that's both tasty and healthy. There aren't a lot of fun things to do here. Plus, there's no gym or place to exercise.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The place is really clean, and the staff is nice and helpful. Mom's getting good care. She doesn't like the food much, but they have a new cook now, so it's better. The only issue is with activities. Mom can't find them easily. She wants to join but isn't sure if they actually happen.
