Oak Trace a CCRC

"Short-staffed but good activities avoid wellness center if possible."
They don't have enough staff all around, which is their main problem. Sometimes it's tough to find a nurse on the nursing floor. But I really like the assisted living building. They're really good with their activities and keeping everyone informed. One of my family members moved from assisted living to the wellness center, and I wouldn't recommend it if you can help it. They don't have many activities there, and people in wellness seem isolated.

"Oak Trace Falls Short on Cozy Comfort"
I visited Oak Trace when considering living options for my dad. The community seemed nice, but it felt too institutional. I wanted a cozier, happier place, which Oak Trace didn't provide.

"Stay Away from This Neglected and Unresponsive Retirement Home"
This retirement home has been the worst ever. There's neglect, no one answers when you need help and there's not enough staff... The employees don't help when you need it. After asking for three days, I finally got an ice pack. But then when the nurse's aide took my temperature, they wrapped it around my elbow which made my vitals seem really low. The food is awful, always cold and it doesn't look good. I asked for a raised toilet seat and didn't get it until two days later. And they didn't give me pain medicine until 12 hours after I got there. There was one time when a man was yelling "HELP!" for at least 20 minutes and no one answered him. I went outside to see what was going on and the housekeeper said "there's no one here to help so there's nothing I can do." Please DON'T go to this horrible place. It'll mess with your head and you won't get better because of it.

"Avoid this Nursing Home for Loved Ones' Recovery"
My dad stayed here for stroke recovery. The only good part was the CNA's and social worker. The rest was awful. The place was dirty and stinky and showed real wear and tear. The nurses were not nice at all and never did what they were supposed to. According to them, a doctor was seeing my dad every day, but we never saw this doctor. They didn't give my dad his medicine when they should have. My dad only got baths when we asked over and over for one. Even though my dad's stroke made eating hard, they always made him feed himself. The therapy people never did what we asked them to, and they often lost or never even got the equipment they needed. Don't ever let someone you care about stay here.

"Avoid This Disappointing Assisted Living Facility"
My dad was at this facility to recover from a stroke. The assistants and social worker were kind, but that's the only good thing I can say. The place was filthy, stinky, and shabby. The nurses were awful! They weren't friendly and nobody did what they were supposed to do. They said a doctor saw him daily but we never saw any doctor. He didn't get his meds like he should've. My dad didn't get a bath unless we begged for it. He had to feed himself even though he had a tough time because of his paralysis. The therapy staff ignored our requests and they either didn't order or lost the necessary equipment. Don't ever let your loved ones go to this place.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
My mom has some memory issues, and we've had communication challenges. But overall, we're content. The place has ample space for walking. We visited fourteen places, and this one stood out. Although after three months, they increased the rent. Everything else rates four to five stars.
