"A Great Assisted Living Experience!"

My family member lives at Ascension Living Fox Knoll Village, and our experience has been really positive. The staff are friendly and helpful, the place is clean, and the care services are excellent. The food and activities are enjoyable. Right now, I have no worries about my loved one's care. I'd recommend Ascension Living Fox Knoll Village to other families.

"Quiet Stay, Positive Recommendation"

Our mother-in-law stayed in her room and didn't join meals or activities at Ascension Living. Overall, we recommend this community.

"Decent Tour, But I’ll Keep Looking"

I visited Ascension Living Fox Knoll Village while looking for a place to live on my own. The place and the tour were fine. Still, I chose to look around some more.

"Affordable, Spacious Assisted Living with Friendly Staff"

We picked Ascension Living Fox Knoll Village because it’s affordable, and the business manager, [name removed], was amazing. The hallways could use better lighting, and the carpets need an update. But the apartments are super spacious. I’d recommend this place to others.

"Loved One Struggled with Multiple Floors at Facility"

My loved one found the facility's multiple floors challenging.

"Friendly Environment with Fun Activities"

Fox Knoll is a great place to live. The staff and residents are really nice and welcoming. Before COVID, they had fun activities like bingo, left right center, Wii bowling, and more games for residents to enjoy.

"Spacious Facility with Walking Challenges"

The place is nice, but it won't work for my mom because she would have to walk a lot between buildings for social events. It would be too overwhelming for her to be in such a big place.

"Expensive with unwanted services."

The models were nice, but not what we wanted. We don't need meals or housekeeping, and the cost is too high. They now charge an extra $250/month for a second person in the unit.

"Friendly Staff, Dim Interior"

The people here are nice, but the inside feels a bit gloomy. I’m still undecided.

"Great Alzheimer's unit but facility undergoing renovation."

While I was visiting, they were fixing up the building. The Alzheimer’s unit seemed great, locked to prevent wandering. The place overall looked nice and tidy despite the construction. I didn't love the hospital-like vibe and the distance from me, but I'd suggest it to others.

""Not the Ideal Living Community for Me""

The set meal hours aren't my favorite, especially since the food's not great. It seems like they don't focus on serving healthy food, and it's not cooked too well. Making friends has been tough because a lot of the people living here don't seem too friendly. I've also had a couple of problems with billing. However, the place is always clean and the person who cleans my apartment does a great job. There aren't too many activities available for us to do. The director, though, is really nice and always ready to help.

"Decent Visit, Not Ideal For My Parents"

My visit to this assisted living place was fairly decent. The people who work there were caring and nice. The whole place seemed okay based on what I saw. Even so, I didn't think it was the right fit for what my parents need.

"Great value for money with a family-friendly atmosphere"

I thought the place offered great quality for the price. I liked how it felt like a family. It was cool that people from the memory floor could hang out with the assisted living folks. I was pretty impressed. It's a bit older than some other places, but I'd suggest it. Presence Fox Knoll seemed like a really nice community. The place was super clean. The value was really good.

"Friendly Staff and Great Community for Mom"

We moved my mother into a respite care room before Christmas. After checking out several places, we were very impressed by the staff's kindness and the friendly residents who talked to us about how great the facility is. I worried that Mom might prefer a fancier place (which would cost at least $2,000 more a month), but she’s happy here. It’s interesting that the building used to be a hospital where my son’s father-in-law and his nine siblings were born. Mom lives in a spacious room in “the tower” with plenty of natural light and views from big windows on three sides. The staff have been caring and friendly, especially as Mom’s memory has declined. She enjoys participating in various activities and likes the community. The head nurse has been particularly supportive and has become a friend to Mom. As nurses ourselves, my wife and I are very particular about healthcare quality. We highly recommend Presence Fox Knoll, although it might not be necessary since all the rooms are currently full. They offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care.

"Significant Variations in Staff Quality and Overpriced Meals Impede Ratings"

The food here is really terrible given how much it costs, and I don't think the people in charge of the dining staff are doing their jobs right. Things haven’t been great ever since this one lady cook quit about half a year ago, and the kitchen seems to be going downhill. The attitude of the kitchen and dining room staff isn't up to par, and they don't seem to prioritize cleanliness. Once, I was having lunch with my mom, and I saw a man who works there handling food while he was on his phone - that was gross. One of the cooks, a tall woman, always seems unclean when I see her. In addition, once when I was with my mom, I saw the dining room director getting mad at one of the servers. When she noticed me, I smiled and said hi, but she just gave me a nasty look and didn't reply. That was rude, and I think that kind of behavior from higher-ups doesn't do the place any good. Just so you know, there's this one team member who's doing a great job - a lead caregiver. I don't see her a lot since I can't be with my mom all day, but I've seen her help out tirelessly and could see her passion in her work. I once saw her defuse an upset resident and turn their frown into a smile which impressed me. In my opinion, we need more individuals like her everywhere in life. There are also other fantastic staff members. For instance, a morning-shift caregiver who's tall and red-headed is really good at her job. Also, there's Jackie who works the second shift, she's also very effective. Jocelyn, one of the nurses is so professional and seems to have answers to anything you ask. Lastly, the nursing director and the activities team are truly exceptional. The maintenance manager could definitely improve on his professionalism as I observed him flirting with a younger staff, which was kind of weird. Despite these issues, I'd still recommend this facility to anyone.

"Great Experience with Some Room for Improvement"

I really enjoy living here. Things are going well overall. The food isn't great—especially the scalloped potatoes—but the desserts are wonderful. The staff serving meals is excellent. However, the housekeeping girl who cleans twice a week needs some assistance. Our unit has a spacious living room with a beautiful river view, and the bedroom is quite large. I'd recommend it to anyone.

"Very Happy with This Assisted Living Facility"

We are very happy with them. It's super clean, and the staff is really nice. They also cost less than many other places. The activities are amazing, with so much variety, from games and movies to outings. They respond quickly to any needs. He loves the food. So far, he's been very happy with it. We don't have any complaints or worries at all.

"Fox Knolls: A Great Choice for Our Family"

We chose Fox Knolls after looking at many other places. It feels more like a nice apartment than a hospital. The rooms are set up well, and the atmosphere is cozy. There are plenty of activities, and the staff is very attentive. We’re even moving my mom from memory care to assisted living here because she’s doing better. Fox Knolls has been great in helping with this transition. My siblings and I all agree on this—we reviewed many places, and they would say the same things. My mom likes it here, which is impressive since she’s very independent and wasn’t thrilled about moving. She’s come to appreciate her care team and has good things to say about them.

"Affordable, wheelchair-friendly assisted living with caring staff."

Visited on Tuesday, March 25. Looked nice but might be too pricey. The apartment would cost about $2,100, then you'd add the care level fee. We'd likely need level 2, which is $800 extra. They can accommodate wheelchairs easily. Right now, they're offering the first two months' rent for free. This building doesn't provide skilled care, but I got to chat with the nurse on staff, who was really helpful.

"Underwhelmed and Trapped in Elevator"

When we came to look at this place, we got trapped in the elevator for more than 5 minutes. The lady showing us around had just said that the maintenance guys had inspected them and they were running fine, but still, we got stuck. The whole place gave off a vibe like an old hospital, like we were just there to see a patient. Honestly, we weren't too amazed, nothing really stood out for us.
