"Reasonable Pricing and Caring Staff"

I chose this place because it’s close to my house. The sales director, [name removed], made me feel at ease about leaving my aunt in their care. Plus, the pricing was reasonable.

"No Comfort and Poor Assistance in Post-Surgery Procedures"

The day after my surgery, which required me to keep my leg up and only put some weight on it, there were no recliner chairs or footrests where I could rest my leg. They barely helped me get to the bathroom. The cups for water were very small and there were no pitchers available.

"Neglected Elderly, Cold Food, Neglectful Staff at Assisted Living Facility"

Don't send your family members to this facility. My mother experienced negligence and even had her hydration neglected because the "ice machine was broken". Staff appeared stressed, delaying her bathing and taking a long time to assist her in the restroom. They even tried to get her to go to bed early so they wouldn't have to help her. She ended up falling because they made her stand and hold onto a metal pole even though she said she couldn't do it. They seem to only care about the patients when relatives are around. I bet none of the employees here would let their own families stay! The man who runs the place (name removed) lacks manners and compassion. The food's always cold or hard, and even the coffee is cold! This place won't be getting even a single point out of a star rating from me. Shame on them! One star is way too much credit. They won't be getting any points on the star rating from my family.

"Comfortable elsewhere, chose different community."

This community was okay, but we felt more comfortable elsewhere.

"Unhappy Relative Reports Neglect at Assisted Care Facility"

A family member of mine stayed here recently and she was extremely displeased with her care. On her first night, she had an accident and was overlooked for quite a while. Nobody came to help or clean her up. All alone, she had to cry out for assistance. The facility staff didn't help her walk using physical therapy, which left her bedridden throughout her entire stay. After her Medicare benefits ran out, she was sent home still in terrible shape, both mentally and physically. She was once able to walk and manage her basic tasks, but now she requires round-the-clock care. Her prior stay at another nursing home, named Paul's House, was far superior. It's important to do some homework before sending a loved one to this place. I'm almost certain you'll locate a superior option for your loved one.

"Neglect and Financial Exploitation at Facilities for the Elderly"

As a social worker, I had an elderly, 93-year-old client transferred to the Paul House, previously known as St. Paul before its ownership changed at the start of this year. Upon staying there, my client unfortunately fell, breaking her hip, and had to be rushed to the hospital. Despite returning to the facility, Paul House slapped her with a shocking $50,000 bill for extending her stay due to this accident. Now, if precautions like placing mats beside her bed were taken, she wouldn't have fallen in the first place. Charging her this exorbitant fee is not just blatantly unfair, but it's also financial exploitation aimed at the elderly. We are taking legal steps to fight this charge. Moreover, it appears that the facility is trying all sorts of tactics to keep her from leaving. They've even gone as far as obstructing her transfer to another facility by claiming that she requires a sliding board, which would make her ineligible for admission. But in my numerous visits (eight to be exact), I've never come across such a board used for transfers. We voiced our concerns to the facility. Adding to the grievances, my client, who is mentally sharp despite her age, insists that Paul House is critically understaffed. They even neglected giving her follow-up x-rays after her accident until a nurse practitioner came to her insistence. With over 40 years of experience as a social worker, I can confidently say that Paul House is among the worst facilities I've encountered. How they tried to exploit my client financially is nothing short of disgusting. We won't let this go and are planning to take legal action, as well as involving the government if necessary.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Transition"

They take a bit longer to move my mom from assisted living to the Memory care unit, but it's understandable since there were no available beds at the time. I felt a little lost during the process.

"Negligence Led to Hospitalization, Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility"

A friend of mine stayed here for just two weeks and ended up in hospital due to dehydration and unstable blood sugar levels. The care provided was truly terrible, it seemed like they were just interested in keeping patients sedated for their convenience. Very disappointed!

"Community Tour Experience: Kind Staff, Not Suitable for Mother-in-Law"

Our visit to this place was nice. The community looked tidy. The staff was friendly and nice. Our tour went smoothly. However, it wasn't right for my mother-in-law's needs.

"Assisted Living Review: Comfortable with Room for Improvement"

I really liked this place. The rooms were a bit small for my uncle. They reminded me of a college dorm. They have activities every day. St. Paul House is an old but clean building, and the dining room is nice-looking.

"Friendly, caring, but needs better activities and food"

My mom was at a Sunrise in California before, so I compare St. Paul's to that. St. Paul's is very friendly, really caring, and keeps me updated about my mom. The food isn't as good, but it's okay, and she eats fine. They watch a lot of TV and movies, which my mom doesn't like, but I usually visit in the evening when there aren't planned activities. Overall, I'm happy with my choice.

"Caring Staff and Good Meals at St. Paul’s House"

St. Paul’s House is a nice place. They don’t have many social activities, but that’s okay because my 90-year-old loved one needs a quieter environment. Compared to other places that cost more, the staff here really cares. We’re happy we found this facility. They help her with showers and hair washing, and the meals are good. Overall, things are positive.

"Friendly Staff, Social Interaction Could Improve"

We’re new at St. Paul’s House, and so far, it’s been good. The staff is friendly and caring. They seem to genuinely care about both residents and families. One thing they could improve is having more social gatherings after meals. People tend to go their separate ways, and I was hoping for more interaction. Overall, they’re doing well, but this area could use some attention.

"Almost Perfect, Waiting for Memory Care Bed"

It's really great here. We're still waiting for a bed in the memory care area, so that's why it's four stars. I'm sure it will be five stars once we get the right room. It's clean, and everyone is very nice. They are attentive and responsive. We're very happy with it.

"Cozy Older Community, Small Apartments; Not Ideal for Couples"

We visited this community while considering care for our family. It's an older building with a slight musty feel, yet cozy and inviting. The apartments are small; adequate for one person but cramped for a couple. Overall, it's pleasant but not suitable for our loved ones.
