"Effective Care Handling"
They handled care resistance well. I highly recommend based on my experience.

"Strong Urine Smell and Clutter at Sunrise of Barrington"
We visited Sunrise of Barrington, and as soon as we stepped inside, the strong smell of urine hit us. The place was also quite messy.

"Caring Staff Makes Assisted Living Comfortable and Supportive"
The people who work at CNN's every day are really caring and pay close attention to my family member. They make her feel very comfortable and also give good ideas on how to give her more help when it's necessary, and how to handle Medicare, hospice, and all the other places that help her get the best care possible. They know a lot about all of that stuff.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Activities, Food Variety"
My time here wasn't as fun as I hoped. The things to do are pretty scarce, and there's nowhere to work out or read. It gets dull fast. The building looks nice, but we're not super impressed. The meals could definitely be improved. They're usually okay but sometimes not tasty. And they serve mainly chicken with a bit of steak.

"Great facility, but costs became unaffordable for us"
We really liked Sunrise of Barrington. The place and staff were great. But it was too expensive, and the cost kept increasing, so we couldn't afford it.

"Residents Enjoy Assisted Living with Bingo Activities"
My family member enjoys living here. The staff are helpful, especially when I need assistance. Due to the pandemic, there has been a small turnover in staff. Additionally, residents can participate in Bingo.

"Caring Staff and Good Management at Sunrise of Barrington"
My wife has been in memory care for over two years at Sunrise of Barrington. She gets the attention needed for someone with Alzheimer's. I visit her six days a week for two hours to feed her lunch, and I've become friends with the staff. They work hard and stay alert, thanks to their training. The management listens to suggestions and quickly addresses concerns. Senior care can be expensive because many residents have multiple illnesses, but Sunrise of Barrington has a good reputation, and I feel I'm getting my money's worth.

"We’re happy with the care and attention here."
My wife has been in memory care at Sunrise of Barrington for over two years. She’s been getting the right kind of attention for her Alzheimer’s, and I watch the care staff every day during lunch. I’ve gotten to know them and appreciate their hard work and attentiveness. The management is easy to talk to and quick to address any concerns. Although senior care can be pricey due to the growing number of people needing it, Sunrise of Barrington is a well-regarded facility, and I feel like I'm getting my money’s worth.

"Affordable and caring assisted living with room for improvement"
Sunrise of Barrington is a very clean and pretty place. The people who work there are friendly and kind. My Mom lives in the memory care unit, and I think it's a good choice for her safety. The staff knows how to handle any problems well. I'm not sure what activities are available for her, or what she can do right now. Sunrise of Barrington is cheaper than others we saw, but it's still expensive. We might need to find something cheaper.

"Affordable yet comforting community, lacking clarity on activities"
Sunrise of Barrington is a super clean and pretty place. The people who work there are really nice and caring. My mom lives in the memory care part, and I feel good about her safety here. The staff seem smart about handling any issues. I'm not sure what activities they have for my mom, or what she can do right now. Sunrise of Barrington is cheaper than some others we checked out, but still pricey. We might need to keep searching for something cheaper.

"Out of Reach"
They're really nice, but too expensive for me. The activities they offer cost more than I wanted to pay. The tour was okay, and Denise impressed me with her knowledge. Overall, it's out of my way. We need to reach my loved one quickly.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living: High Fees, Friendly Staff, Nursing Issues"
Their fees are a bit high. Staff is friendly overall, but the nursing staff isn't very friendly. When you approach them, they're okay, but if you just see them around, they tend to avoid interaction. I often don't get my questions answered. Most of the time, the nursing staff either doesn't know the answers or isn't available. My mother's doctor prescribed insulin every 36 hours, but it was administered every 24 hours, causing her to become hypoglycemic. This was likely the doctor's mistake, but the nurses should have noticed the discrepancy. It seems like they just deliver the medications and leave. As a nurse myself, I know that's not how things should be done. They were helpful in organizing everything for my mother's transfer. They deserve credit for that.

"Care and Staff Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"
Their prices are a bit high. The staff is mostly friendly, but the nursing staff seems unfriendly. When you talk to them, they're okay, but if you just see them around, they tend to avoid you. I don't really get any of my questions answered, to put it simply. Most of the time, the nursing staff either doesn't know or isn't around. The doctor prescribed insulin for my mother, to be given every 36 hours, but it was being administered every 24 hours, which made her hypoglycemic, and we almost lost her. I think that was the doctor's mistake, but the nurses should have caught it. It feels like they just deliver the medicine and leave. I'm a nurse myself, so I know that's not how things should be done. They were helpful in arranging everything for my mom's transfer. I'll give them credit for that.

"Large, Costly, and Possibly Neglectful"
This place costs a lot and feels unwelcoming. It's visually appealing but I worry they won't have time to care for my brother properly because it's so huge. Plus, the high cost is a problem. My brother is younger and he may not be able to afford living at Sunrise for more than a few years, if even that.

"Great for Dad: Small, Accessible, Near Medical Care"
Visited on This Sunrise place is the closest to my house. The rooms have showers that are easy to use for people with disabilities. It's also near doctors and Good Shepherd Hospital. It will cost about $116 each day. A nurse from the facility will check on Dad on. Overall, this place is much better for my dad than staying at home.
