"Too Big, Not Focused Enough"
Sunrise of Willowbrook was too large, with three stories and three different types of care: memory care, assisted living, and a retirement community. We wanted a smaller place that only focused on memory care. The memory care unit wasn't to our liking; many patients were still in bed during our tour, instead of being active. While the facility was beautifully decorated, it wasn't suitable for our loved one.

"Found a good place but chose another for layout needs"
We had a really good visit at Sunrise of Willowbrook. The place looked nice and the staff were really nice too. They were good at communicating with us and following up after our tour. However, we found another place that seemed to be set up better for what our loved ones need.

"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living Roommate Change Challenging but Facility Good"
I think Sunrise of Willowbrook is a very good place overall. It was my loved one's first assisted living home. We had a problem when she was moved to a two-bedroom suite. She stayed alone for weeks, and then they moved in a roommate, which was okay. They didn't get along, so they moved our loved one out, even though she had been there longer and was already used to the room so then she had to get used to another one. We thought the situation could have been handled a little better, but the whole experience taught all of us something. It's a great facility overall.

"Great Staff and Clean, Cheerful Rooms"
The place is good so far. They have a hard job in memory care, but they do it well. I really like the staff, and they are well organized here. I also really like my mom’s room; it’s very bright and cheerful. Housekeeping keeps the rooms clean, and they do the laundry. I like that they offer three meals a day with choices. I would recommend them to family and friends.

"Disappointing Experience at Pricey Sunrise of Willowbrook"
Sunrise of Willowbrook costs a lot. The boss lady, well, she doesn't call back like she promised. Bad experience. Wouldn't recommend.

"Great Atmosphere, But Needs Skilled Nursing in Later Stages"
I really liked the place. It had a nice feel to it. The only thing is they don't have enough help for when someone gets really sick and needs extra care.

""Cool Staff, Cozy Lobby, But Studio Needs Updates""
I had a great meeting with the manager - they were really cool! The first floor was cozy and kinda felt like home. But, when I looked at a studio apartment, I didn't like it anymore. The carpet was like the stuff you'd find in a tacky school. The studio wasn't horrible, it just needs some improvements.

"More of a business, less of a home-like feeling"
I visited this place and I didn't think it was right for my folks. The folks in the memory care unit seemed to need more aid than my folks, and I wasn't convinced that they were actually getting all the support that they required, just from my observations. To me, the entire facility had more of a company vibe than that of a cozy home.

"Bright, nice, but not a good fit for mom. Strange layout."
When I visited this place, it wasn't for assisted living, and my mom needs some help. The apartment layout was weird. It was really bright, nice, and cheery, but it just didn't work well for us.

Sunrise at Willowbrook feels cheery, bright, and welcoming. The staff and other residents are friendly. Although I didn't eat there, the food looked great during mealtimes. The community is always clean and offers daily activities like games and outings. I recommend this welcoming community to others.

"Not Quite the Right Fit!"
The Sunrise of Willowbrook was a really nice place. It looked after well, and the person who managed it took us on a tour. He was friendly and knew a lot. The building was huge, and residents were happily walking around and doing activities. However, we found another community that suits my mother's needs better.

"Changes at living facility impacting quality of life!"
The corporate management switched up a ton of stuff at the assisted living place recently. Like, for instance, dinner used to be served by waitresses and waiters. Now, though, it's the caregivers who are taking on that extra job. And the people living there used to get two options for dinner and now there's only one. You gotta be quick to make sure you even get a meal. Even the activities they have them doing don't seem really fit for older people. But everyone on staff is real nice and they're really trying their best to do what's best. It's just that all these changes aren't really making life better for the residents.

"Needed Care, Limited Companionship, Early Meals at Sunrise of Willowbrook"
Sunrise of Willowbrook is a place for seniors to live. Most of the older people there need more care, like what a nursing home provides. It would be better if they told us how many people there are kind of out of it. If your family member can't make friends, the place feels pretty sad. Also, they give meals too close together, with dinner starting at 4:30. What do people do from 5:30 until 10:00 at night? They should have dinner twice. Trying to save money makes people's lives less good and it's not worth it.

"Great Place for Seniors!"
My brother visited this community and he loved it. He said the staff were really helpful and nice. The tour guide gave him all the information he needed. They have lots of fun things for the people who live there, and they even have parking for them. The only downside was that it's not close to our family.

"Dad is settling in well at Sunrise of Willowbrook!"
My dad is still getting used to Sunrise of Willowbrook. He lives independently, but the staff are always ready to help if needed. The medical team is interested in his health and keeps us informed. Dad rides his bike several times a week and is starting to make friends. I haven’t tried the food myself, so I can’t comment on it. Overall, I would recommend this community.

"A Comfortable Place with Room for More Activities"
I think it's a really cozy place. My mom settled in fast. They've been very supportive with her transition and with everything else. The facility is clean and the grounds are lovely. Communication with the staff has been good. It would be great if they had more activities to choose from. Other than that, everything else has been really good. I would recommend Sunrise of Willowbrook.

"Good Job So Far"
They are doing a good job so far. Her care is really good. If I had another family member who needed help, I would choose them again. You still need to be there and keep an eye on things, as they aren't perfect, but nobody is. Overall, they are very good.

"Sunrise Willowbrook"
It’s too early to rate this place since our parent just moved in last week. They’re feeling homesick and missing their old routine. The staff is friendly and helpful, and their room is nice. I wish there were more welcoming activities, like introducing them during meals. Dad isn’t cooperating with the activities director right now, but I think things will improve once they settle into the routine. Dementia makes it challenging, but we’ll work with the staff. Looking forward to better days ahead!

"Happy with friendly staff, lively atmosphere, and fair pricing."
We are very happy with this place. The staff is great—they answer questions, help with directions, and make sure we’re informed. The residents are friendly and chat with each other in the library, TV room, porch, or bistro. It feels lively when you walk in. The staff does a good job introducing new people so they feel at home. The facility is big enough for social interaction but not so large that you feel lost. We were told she can stay in the same apartment through hospice care, which is comforting. There’s always a nurse on-site, which is hard to find. The building blends in with the neighborhood, so it doesn’t feel like a hotel or industrial space. The price is fair and falls within our budget. They host a monthly brunch for families, and the directors even serve the food. They are often around and chat with residents. Small pets are welcome, and there’s a house dog everyone loves. The facility feels like home, and the beauty shop is good. Some activities might seem a bit corny to my loved one. The apartment is nice and spacious, with a separate sitting area. There’s a bus for shopping trips and a lunch bunch for outings. One suggestion would be to add a maintenance person or handyman.

Family of a Former Resident
"Disappointing Care and Unreturned Deposit at Assisted Living Facility"
My mother is no longer living there. Her care requirements were more than we could afford for the memory care section upstairs. Unfortunately, no spots were available, even if we could cover the cost. I'm truly disappointed that her needs weren't accurately assessed from the start. Despite them trying, her frequent falls made me question their competence. I wish they had been honest and admitted their incapability to give her the care she required. The staff was friendly, yet they must improve their patient screening. She barely stayed two months and they retained the deposit. Prior to moving in, they didn't clean the carpet or repaint the room. While they seem to prioritize fast move-ins, it feels money-driven. Why didn't they tell us upfront that her needs were beyond their capabilities?

"Great staff, minor issues, but overall very happy"
We picked Sunrise of Willowbrook because we heard great things about the staff. They’re as friendly and good as we were told. The staff stays here for a long time; the executive director has been here for 13 years. The facility is off a busy road, but there are houses blocking the noise. It feels like home, not like an institution. We’ve had a few small issues, like getting donuts instead of healthy snacks, but the staff communicates well and tries to help. We’re very happy with our choice, and my loved one seems content here.

"Dated Facility Offers Warm Welcome Despite Old, Dusty Feel"
The location looked gloomy and out of style, yet still managed to radiate a welcoming and pleasant environment. The staff looked somewhat unkempt, possibly a result of the day nearing its close. The smell of the place reminded me of dust and old age, quite different from other facilities. The decor felt worn and not at all new. The property is already a decade old. It has a designated area for smokers and is conveniently located.
