"Friendly Staff, Few Activities"
The assisted living place is cozy with kind and welcoming people. However, there aren’t many fun things to do. They say there are activities, but they often don’t happen.

"Poor Management and Meal Change Ruined New Lenox Assisted Living"
When my family member first started living at The Cottages of New Lenox, everything was awesome. We really liked everyone who worked there and the food they served was healthy and yummy. But then, in the last year, all the management and employees changed and everything got really bad. They even changed the food and instead of healthy meals, they started serving stuff like mac ‘n cheese for dinner. Sometimes when I would visit, all the employees were hanging out in the office, not looking after the residents. My family member even had things stolen. So, in short, everything sucked after they changed who was in charge.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The first week at the assisted living facility went okay. But during the second week, we noticed they weren't giving my loved one enough food, so they were always hungry. They didn't help with feeding, and my loved one was always the last to eat. The meals they serve aren't balanced. We were really unhappy. Also, residents could just walk into anyone's bedroom, which meant no privacy. The laundry service disappointed us too—my loved one went a whole week without towels, and some of their clothing disappeared.

"Deplorable Care Leads to Tragic Loss"
My husband returned with a pair of wounds on his heel and a horrific bed sore that ultimately led to his death. They appeared eager to welcome him, but he was too much for them to care for adequately. I wish they had been upfront about it from the beginning. I regret ever sending him to this place.

"Assisted Living Facility Provides Supportive, Engaging Home for Elderly Parents"
When my parents first moved in, there were some challenges, but things are settling. The management and staff are supportive and attentive. They live in a cozy cottage with others, and it's spacious enough for Mom's wheelchair and Dad's walker. The staff keeps me well-informed, and they've made it easier for my parents to see the resident doctor and manage their medications. They're also arranging on-site physical therapy. The activities keep them engaged, and Dad even enjoys the food. This home-like setting suits my parents well.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Community"
We visited this community. It seemed older than we expected. The room didn't suit my dad's needs. The rooms were individual and outdoors. It's closer, but not ideal right now. We'd suggest it for good care and value for loved ones.
