"Neglectful Management and Terrible Conditions at Assisted Living Facility"

This is honestly the worst living facility I've experienced. The dining room becomes unbearably cold during the winter months, and the food is quite awful. Even when residents complain, the kitchen manager simply turns a deaf ear. I'm genuinely taken aback that this place is rated as a five-star facility, it doesn't even merit a one-star rating in my opinion. It seems the management is more focused on filling rooms than ensuring quality service after residents move in. They are constantly feeding us lies about everything. A considerable number of the apartments don't have suitable heating. They'll provide you with a tiny heater that barely does its job. There's a single nurse on duty who's typically lazy and doesn't frequently check on the residents.

"Depressing Atmosphere, Good Care, but Not Convenient for Me"

During my visit, this place felt very institutional. It was harder for me to reach compared to where we eventually picked. A friend whose relative stays here thinks the care is excellent. They take good care of their loved one. However, I felt down because of the dim lighting and hospital-like rooms. I had a lengthy chat with the director, who was nice, but overall, it didn't match our preferences.

"Great place with Kosher kitchens and various care levels"

I've visited Self Help a few times during Jewish holidays. This place has been here for a long time and is one of the few with Kosher kitchens. They have regular Shabbat services and offer different care levels, from independent living to assisted living and more.
