"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"

Overall, it's pretty good. The staff problems worry me, but that's common everywhere. The place and amenities are awesome, especially if you're willing to use them. The dining was better when my loved one arrived, but it's been a month or so of not-so-great meals.

"Cozy and Friendly Assisted Living, but Just Okay Overall"

We visited Deer Park Village while looking for a place for our family member. It was alright. The place felt cozy and nice. The people were friendly during our tour.

"Poor management, subpar service, and high costs mar this facility."

Ever since Dial started running this place, they've hiked up the rent two times in two years, a whopping 17%! And guess what? There's nothing fun to do, the food is meh, and good luck getting anyone to call you back. Honestly, it's like living in a fancy place that's not so fancy after all.

"Don't Place Loved Ones in Alzheimer's Unit Here"

Don't trust your relative's care to this place, especially not in the Alzheimer unit.

"Great Activities and Service, Dining Needs Improvement"

I picked Deer Park Village because they offer many activities and amenities for residents. The apartments are a good size, with various models to choose from. The staff are exceptional; my loved one was in assisted living and had a wonderful experience. The only issue is with the dining. They need more staff, and COVID has made things harder. They have split meal times, and sometimes there's a shortage of food or the quality isn't as good. They are starting to have more people eating together again, but they still need assistance. Overall, I would recommend Deer Park Village to others looking for assisted living.

"Older and Quieter Community"

Deer Park Village seemed older than other places we visited. It was a bit too quiet for what my loved one needed.

"Community too large for comfort"

The place felt too big for my loved one.

"Assisted Living Community Improvements Underway with Enhanced Dining Options"

The community is improving activities and dining options are now better.

"Understaffed but caring community high turnover concerns remain."

Overall, I think Solana is a good community. But the caregivers are really overworked. I've been here five months, and six caregivers have left without anyone new being hired. Two more are leaving in the next two weeks. The caregivers are great and never complain. This is just what I've noticed. I would hate to see more caregivers leave because of bad working conditions.

"A Home Away from Home"

Living at The Solana for nearly 3 years has been exactly what I expected and even better. The staff here are really well-trained and are always eager to help with any small issues that might come up. The cooks do a great job making tasty dinners, and the servers, who are young, always greet you with a smile and bring you whatever you ask for. This place feels like a second home to me!

"Happy but distant."

Pleased with this choice, but a bit far for me.

"Mixed Experience at Lovely Assisted Living Facility"

I visited this place for a tour. The lady we talked to last time was gone, and she gave us a different price. The new person didn't know much and didn't answer clearly. The building looks nice and new, and it's clean. But, there aren't many residents, and there aren't many activities happening.

"They do not offer memory care."

I visited this place while searching for a home for my husband. It’s really nice—a brand new facility with everything in one building. Most residents seemed happy. I attended a couple of cocktail parties, and the food was good. The tour guide answered all my questions. The facility was spotless. Unfortunately, they didn’t provide exactly what I needed, so we didn’t choose to move him in.

"Pricey menu, but clean environment; not our final choice."

I checked out this place and it was all tidy and neat. The people working there were helpful and answered all my questions. They had a special area for people with memory issues. But, you have to pay for each thing separately, and that made me uneasy. So, we picked another spot.

"Not Ideal, But Equally Nice"

This community was just as nice as the others we visited. The location wasn't great for my dad, though—it's near a busy shopping area with lots of restaurants and stores. The community itself is clean and looks good. They have a nice pool for residents to use, and the staff we met were friendly. However, some of the activities and services offered weren't a good fit for my dad.

"Appearances Are Misleading at Solana's Memory Care"

If you're looking for a place with good food and a pleasant atmosphere, this might be it, but don't expect much beyond that. Solana's Memory care is mostly run by inexperienced individuals who aren't qualified to handle residents dealing with dementia. Many workers come and go, and those few who stay aren't suited to work in memory care. I had to hire a personal CNA to take care of my mom because the staff at Solana lacked the necessary skills and dedication. My CNA doesn't struggle at all, while Solana's staff continue to make excuses. The director is clueless about who works in his own memory care unit - he even thought my privately hired CNA was his employee! We had an incident where my mom was found by the CNA alone in bed covered in dried waste , and the director brushed it off with “It could have just happened” – which is impossible given how long waste takes to dry. This shows how unaware they are. As I started seeking a new home for my mom, I found other former residents from Solana sharing similar complaints. My mom's care wasn't the only one that was lacking. There is simply no compassion at Solana, all I got were excuses at my mom's expense. Solana really overpromised and underdelivered. Don't make the mistake of trusting them with your loved one.

"Great tour!"

The Solana Dear Park seemed good, but Mom preferred another place.

"Satisfactory Assisted Living Experience"

My mother-in-law is adjusting okay after moving to this place. Everyone's been really nice and super helpful. We can tell she's safe and well-cared for. The staff here is great! I'd suggest this community to others.

"Concerns Raised Over Assisted Living Facility's Security Measures"

What are you guys doing about the 5 break-ins that have happened here? The people living here tell me that you're not taking action and they're scared about their safety. If you're taking care of this problem, your residents don't know about it. If you're not resolving this, that's really disappointing.

"Friendly Community"

The tour was good. The community had friendly people, and everything looked clean.

""Poor living conditions persist, especially with the dining service""

So far, this place hasn't been a nice home for my brother. Since we moved him in, it's been one issue after another. The most annoying part is the dining service - they don't have enough people and the food isn't as good as it was when he first arrived. They hold meetings for the residents, but they never really solve any of the problems. It's really disheartening.
