"Rundown Facility, Unreliable Staff, and Troubling Resident Mix"

The building is old and not clean, with staff who seem more interested in their phones than helping the residents. Management is either always missing or always seems confused. The food used to be decent, but recently the meals have been pretty gross. The residents here vary wildly, with some that even seem like they just came in off the street. There's a major issue with people taking things that don't belong to them. I wouldn't recommend leaving anyone you care about in this place unless for some reason you dislike them!

"Low-Quality Assisted Living Facility with many issues"

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend this place. The staff are always coming and going and it's hard to keep track of who your caregiver is. You end up waiting forever when you call for help. The food isn't top-notch either. The residents get 90 bucks for their monthly expenses but they just end up using it for things that insurance won't cover. They get pushed into applying for Link, which is just used to cut down kitchen expenses. While it's hard to believe, this is all perfectly legal. It's weird how everyone has to pay different rates, but gets the same type of room unless you're sharing. Those who share rooms end up paying more. Even though the staff tries their best, they often get mistreated and yelled at by the people in charge. Promises that were made never come true. If I were you, I'd do some homework about these kinds of places. Accidents, like slips and falls, happen way too often here. No one has any qualification higher than a licensed practical nurse. The elevators are always breaking down and the number of people leaving is too high. Try asking a resident how they feel when there's no staff around. Smoking is banned but people still do it in their rooms. People with dementia get placed on the same floor as those with mental health issues. I really suggest you ask to see the state records of these places before choosing one. Don't take everything at face value. Also, make sure to find out the number for Senior Care and double-check with the legal system.

"Friendly Staff and Cozy Atmosphere"

The staff here are awesome! They're really nice and easy to talk to. You can reach both Directors anytime because they give you their cell numbers. I had to call one at night, and she got back to me right away. The place is cozy, and my dad likes the food. Great place.

"Inconsistent Staffing Impacts Resident Care"

The staff isn’t reliable, which affects how well they take care of residents. For example, laundry doesn’t get done, and rooms aren’t cleaned often. Only a few employees seem to care.

"Avoid The Vistas, Count Cash Not Care"

We moved our mom into The Vistas because she could keep her cat there. Our time there was horrible, though, and we definitely wouldn't recommend it, unless you're able to check-in a lot. We tried to work with the people there to make our mom more comfortable but they didn't seem to care about our suggestions. Most of the people working there were uncaring, didn't pay attention to details and didn't respond to our concerns fast enough. Our mom even complained about the workers yelling at her for not moving quickly enough to take her medicine. We found her medicine lying around her room multiple times. The way they managed the place felt more about money than about the people living there. The people in charge of money were messy and confusing. Our mom passed away a few months after moving in. We had two weeks to clear out her things. We kept her room much cleaner when she left than it was when she moved in. The person who showed up to check on the room just walked in without knocking. They tried to claim the bed and TV were theirs, which wasn't true. We had to show proof that they were ours. We felt like the people at The Vistas were really insensitive.

"Insufferable Management and Terrible Conditions at Assisted Living Facility"

This facility is dreadful, I truly wish I had the option to rate it zero stars. A member of my family stayed at this place and everything, ranging from the hygiene standards to the meals, was awful. All the residents seem to do is just sit idle all day! The nursing staff and aids were decent enough, but the management staff are really unbearable - they're full of sass and constantly unavailable.

"Decent Stay, But Lacking a Warm Welcome"

So far, things have been pretty okay. I was looking for a temporary place for my dad nearby. He’s all set to move out of the assisted living now. The staff there were nice during his stay. They checked him out and agreed to let him stay for a little while. The person I talked to was alright, but when we were moving in, it didn’t feel very welcoming. They could’ve been better organized.

"Assisted Living Lacks Connectivity, Appears Basic and Plain"

The buildings aren't linked, and the assisted living facility seemed really simple and ordinary.

"Safe, Caring Community with Good Food"

I feel confident that my mom is safe and well taken care of here. The staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. The community is clean and offers plenty of activities. The food is good too. I recommend this place.

"Happy with Aurora Supportive Living - The Vistas"

My mom has lived here for almost 4 years. It's an older building but well cared for. She is really happy here—she loves her room and the staff. She also enjoys the activities like bingo, shopping trips, dinner outings, and shows. I'm very pleased with how quickly the staff responds to my questions and requests. There's a head nurse and nursing staff available all the time. I sleep better knowing my mom is well cared for and happy. I recommend Aurora Supportive Living - The Vistas. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
