"Helpful staff, good services, recommend for assisted living"

The director and management were great, made move-in and out easy. They helped with my mom's changing needs. Most staff we met were kind, but sometimes there were issues with floor staffing. They were flexible with transportation and had nice holiday gatherings. I would recommend this facility.

"Caring staff and family atmosphere"

The staff builds relationships with the residents and their families. It's a small facility with a family feel. The staff knows and cares about each person's needs. I trust them to keep my mom safe and cared for.

"Nice but Institutional Feeling"

Alto Wheaton was nice, clean, and pretty new. The rooms were VERY small, and the whole place felt more like an institution and less like a home compared to other places we visited. It felt a lot like the place we were leaving. We weren't sure my mom would get the personalized care she needed here.

"Good facility with helpful staff, but some issues with temporary nurse"

Moving to an assisted living facility can be tough for both people with dementia and their families. It’s a big change and can be very emotional, so it takes time to adjust. It's important to stay involved and keep in touch with the staff as you start. They’ve been good about answering calls and offering helpful advice. Most of the regular staff are great, but we had a problem with a temporary nurse that wasn’t addressed as we had hoped. Overall, the facility is nice, clean, and doesn’t have any bad smells.

"Long Hallways and Key Issues Raise Concerns"

The hallways were super long in this place, and I worried it might be tough for my loved one. Plus, they had keys to the rooms, which wouldn't be great for someone with motor issues. If there was an emergency, it seemed like help would take forever.

"Positive Experience with Anthology Assisted Living: Fair Value for Cost"

Our family's experience with Anthology has been quite positive, and we believe the cost is reasonable.

"Mixed experience with some drawbacks."

The place is nice, staff is friendly, but layout could be better. Stained hallway carpeting and unvaccinated staff were disappointing.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"

Our family visited this assisted living facility before COVID, and overall, it was quite nice. However, the hallways were incredibly long, which made it a bit inconvenient for residents to get to the center of the place. Unfortunately, the hallways lacked any character. The community felt more like a hotel than a cozy home, but the rooms themselves were nicely arranged.

"Small, caring community with dedicated staff and happy residents."

My parents lived at Anthology in Wheaton, and I can't say enough good things about the community. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by friendly secretaries who know every resident by name and are always willing to help. The nursing staff and caregivers treat each resident with respect and care, and they keep family members well-informed. The kitchen staff and dining room servers are kind and accommodating, always going the extra mile to make residents smile. The executive director and business manager are honest and helpful. The activities director is truly amazing—she genuinely loves each resident and takes the time to enjoy their unique histories. Before moving to Anthology, my parents lived at a much larger and fancier facility, but it felt more like a business. Anthology is a smaller, close-knit community that appreciated and honored my parents. While the variety of activities isn't as extensive as at the larger facility, there were still plenty to keep my outgoing mother happy and busy. Independent home health providers and hospice companies have also spoken highly of Anthology. The building is clean, smells nice, and is only about three years old. I moved my parents to Anthology because they needed assisted living care, which the previous facility couldn't provide. My only regret is not moving them to Anthology sooner.

"Terrible Care at Assisted Living, Get Loved Ones Out Now!"

Families and friends with loved ones needing assisted living, be cautious. Don't let this place take your hard-earned money! The staff is disappointing and the night nurses are a real nightmare. The so-called 'helpers' here are unreliable when it comes to their performance and willingness to do their job and actually help. You often see them lounging, scrolling on their phones, and giving you a scared deer look when approached. The night nurses are the worst, acting sluggish, rude, condescending, and treating you like a nuisance! The 'assistance' that this assisted living facility is meant to provide is a joke. Seriously, if you have a loved one here, I urge you to get them out as soon as possible! It's disgraceful that a few rotten eggs can ruin something that's supposed to offer comfort during challenging times in life. BIGGEST REGRET!

"Fair Assisted Living Community with Room for Improvement"

Nice new community with good rooms. One-bedroom costs $4,750. Staff is young, but turnover is a concern. Fair pricing, but planning info lacking.

"Experienced Care Staff"

I like how this place is newer, but it's not very crowded with other residents. It feels quite empty, and it could benefit from having more people for variety. Sometimes, it gets pretty lonely at its current capacity. On the bright side, the staff here has a stronger connection with the tenants. I appreciate that the staff seems a bit older compared to other places (30+), which might mean they have more experience. I had a conversation with one of them, and they shared how their mother is reaching a point where she needs assistance too. They have staff members who can relate. In other places, when you're younger, the care staff might not know how to handle older individuals, even if they're trained. To me, the older staff members have more experience dealing with a diverse range of people. Here, they pay attention to routines and get to know their patients.
