Villas of Holly Brook & Reflections - Pekin

"**"Lackluster Care at Villas of Hollybrook"**"
My grandma lived in both the assisted living and Reflections memory care units at Villas of Hollybrook in Pekin. Almost every time we visited, we rarely saw an aide, let alone a nurse. Communication between my grandma's hospice team and the Villas staff was severely lacking during her final days. Considering the high cost, the care should have been much better. Many staff members lacked the right attitude and compassion needed to care for dementia residents. Elder care is hard to find, but it's crucial for families like ours who want trusted and caring support.

"Quick meetup at senior facility showed lack of care"
I guess the place isn't that bad, but our meet-up was set for 1:30 and we got there ten minutes early. By 1:36, we had already left because everything was done. It didn't seem like they cared much for my mom's wellbeing.

The reviewer had both positive and negative observations about the facility. While the physical environment was clean and pleasant, staff turnover and inconsistent care were issues.

"Beautiful Facility, Unresponsive and Rude Staff"
The assistants here simply loiter around some vegetation decorations in the dining area, blatantly disregarding the needs of residents who require help getting back to their rooms post meals, or sometimes, they're nowhere to be found as they're usually tucked away in the break room. The head nurse is not the least bit polite; she often ridicules any queries with an eye-roll, spending most of her time up front, laughing it up with other onsite assistants who are just lounging on desktops. The building is admittedly quite attractive and there's almost always an event of some sort happening throughout the day. But the employees are undoubtedly discourteous. It deeply upsets me that someone I deeply care for stays in such a place. The thought of my loved one using her call light or falling and not being responded to for hours terrifies me. The facility is equally aesthetically pleasing and nice, but their assistants are far more warm and you'll never find them idly sitting on counters or neglecting residents in need of their help.
