"Positive experience with friendly staff and clear admissions process at Altenheim."
We've had a positive experience. The staff is friendly. The admissions director was easy to work with and explained policies and evaluation well. We chose Altenheim for its staff, activities, services, location, and cost.

" "Facility Lackluster in Care, Cleanliness, and Communication""
The employees here can often be two-faced, pretending to be nice when in reality, they act unkindly towards the residents. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired; rooms are only tidied up weekly and it's up to the resident's family to clean their carpets. Communication varies greatly, sometimes it's okay, other times it's not great. The inconsistency is influenced heavily by who's on duty - the weekend staff are amazing! Moving in wasn't too problematic, but I do have complaints about the food; it lacks flavor and they don't provide snacks all day, families have to supply those. Instead of focusing mainly on profit, they should really invest more care and honesty into the families who are considering moving their loved ones into this facility.

"Altenheim needs better cleaning and food, but good communication and move-in process."
My family member lives at Altenheim. Cleaning could be more frequent. Communication is good. Moving in was easy. Food needs improvement; often served cold. Recommend Memory Care unit.

"Neglectful Care And Poor Food Quality At Assisted Living Facility"
As I mentioned in my previous review, my relative's foot has become infected and he's now hospitalized. There's a possibility that more of his foot might need to be amputated. When he was given his wound vacuum, the staff seemed clueless about operating it. He was meant to be on a strict regimen of antibiotics, but hasn't received any. Now he's facing dire medical issues due to the negligence of this facility, which is nothing short of a joke. I strongly advise against letting loved ones stay here. The food situation is equally dreadful. The last meal is served around 5 or 5:30 in the evening, and nothing is available until 6 the next morning. They never have hot coffee ready. It's just horrendous. My relative was perpetually hungry, but trust me, it's a place you don't want your family member to live in.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
The staff here are really friendly. My family member has already made friends with others who live here. I think my family member is happy and safe. They don't offer food with less salt to the residents, and this is something that could get better. The meals in the dining room sometimes take a long time to come, and then the food might be cold. There are activities like bingo, music, and more for the residents to join in.

"Altenheim: Okay Costs, Okay Care, Okay Experience"
Altenheim is alright. It's not bad, not great. The prices are good and the care is okay. They're nice and the food they give is good too. Overall, it's just okay. Me and my loved one have had our own experiences here.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Community"
My dad's doing okay in this place. He's settling in and seems to enjoy it. He goes to church on Sundays, but he's not into the other stuff they do. He really digs the breakfast—they do it right. But he's not a fan of the weekend meals. He says they taste different because they have a different chef.
