"Food Quality Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"

My mom really likes the staff, but the food is a big issue. The fried chicken isn’t good—it’s made from pressed turkey. Service is slow, and they often run out of things if you’re not early. Sometimes my mom just has cereal in her apartment. Even though she can still drive, the included food costs almost $[removed] a month. They should improve. The menu supposedly comes from the ‘top,’ but they don’t eat there. They also moved the chairs indoors, so residents can’t watch cars anymore. Food is the #1 problem.

"Negligent Care at Assisted Living Led to Hospitalization"

When my mom went into that facility for "rehab," she was already dealing with a serious back injury and couldn't care for herself. After a few days, they said she caught COVID and was put in isolation. They'd give her food on throwaway trays, but usually left it where she couldn't reach it and no one helped her eat or drink. They'd just take the used tray and replace it with a new one when it was time. When we visited, most of the time we'd find her in her own mess. Even after she was moved out of quarantine to a regular room, she kept getting sick and couldn't eat much. They supposedly put her on a softer diet but that never happened. We visited after Christmas and found her in a huge mess that nobody seemed to care about, so we cleaned her up ourselves. Next day, we took her to the hospital. Turns out, she was really dehydrated and suffering from diverticulitis and a UTI.

"Hopeful Atmosphere"

Aspen Trace is a safe, friendly place for my loved one. The apartment is comfy, and the staff keeps it clean. Dining with others is enjoyable, and we’re excited about upcoming outings.

"Poor Care and Service at Aspen Trace"

My relative was at Aspen Trace for recovery after staying in the hospital. We found them multiple times hooked up to oxygen machines not plugged in or portable ones that were empty. They also got a rash in private areas because they weren't being bathed regularly. Even though they promised regular bathing and physical rehab, they often failed to do both. We had a hard time asking for a chest x-ray when we saw our relative was showing signs of a chest infection or pneumonia. It would take too long for help to come after pushing the call button, possibly because there weren't enough staff. The food was bad and was always served as it is, not in the pureed form the doctor ordered. If we asked the front desk, nurses, or assistants for help, it felt like we were bothering them. This place might not be a good choice for you or your family.

"Improved Social Experience at Aspen Trace"

Our main problem was with the bills because my loved one shares a room. Splitting the bill has been tricky. It also took almost a month to qualify for a scooter. At first, communication between Aspen Trace and the VA wasn’t great, but they fixed it. On the bright side, my loved one is more socially active here and enjoys playing cards.

"Tour Denied at Assisted Living Facility; Terrible Experience"

The place wasn't open for visits and they refused to give us a tour. It was a terrible experience overall.
