"Small, welcoming community ensures safety and well-being for residents."
This small and friendly place makes you feel safe and cared for. We chose it because it's just the right size, the staff is really nice, and they take good care of my loved one. I visited a few places, but Brookdale felt the best. It's clean and pleasant, and the staff really works to make everyone feel safe, cared for, and important.

"Horrible Experience at Assisted Living Facility Finally Over"
Every month, we paid a great deal of money for "special" services like regular room checks, because she couldn't get around on her own. Regrettably, most of the time, those services were not done. More often than not, her room was filthy, she was in a state of uncleanliness, and she felt sick. Once we managed to move her elsewhere, we found out that she was struggling with her breathing and also had a severe bladder infection, along with an awful yeast infection. A worker even had the audacity to tell me to leave, which only hastened our efforts to pull her out of that place. It was a heartbreaking disappointment.

"Help String Issue at Brookdale"
Brookdale was nice, but they never replaced the help string with a button for our loved one.

"Inadequate care, uncooperative staff, bad food, and poor administration."
The night staff lacked an understanding of Alzheimer's disease. The management team wasn't really helpful either. Some of the meals they gave were insufficient, they tried to make them too fancy when all the residents want is simple food. My family member was here for 6 days and I ended up paying [amount]. I don't really know much about the new management, but when I enrolled my family member, they didn't give me all the documents and just left them in the room. I wouldn't suggest this place to other families.

"Family would consider returning despite initial care adjustment and communication issues. One item went missing post-move."
We might choose this place again if needed. At first, staff took time to understand my loved one's needs. There were communication problems between staff and family. Moving in wasn't smooth. Something went missing and they didn't know where it went.

"Brookdale tour: small, dark rooms, no windows, gloomy ambiance."
The Brookdale tour felt dark with small, brown rooms lacking windows.

"Professional, caring, great courtyard views, and spacious closets."
Brookdale is very professional. They communicate well, and it’s a caring and friendly place. It's a great place for your loved one. My loved one has a view of the courtyard from their room. The closet is very spacious for them. They have a great courtyard.

"Unsettled by Staffing Struggles at Brookdale"
I visited Brookdale Bloomington to see if it'd be right for my family member. They mentioned they were struggling with not having enough staff. Knowing my relative needs strong, reliable care, I picked a different place.

"Monroe Place Not Quite Perfect, But Nice Community Overall"
Monroe Place is a really nice place, but we think Monroe Place fits our needs a little better. Thanks!

"Great care and clean environment at this assisted living facility"
After being told my mom needed too much help at another assisted living place, my siblings and I spent a whole day checking out other facilities in town. I wouldn’t recommend any of the others we saw. I believe my mom is in a safe and caring environment here. I've talked to other families, and many have been there for 2.5 to 3 years and are happy with it. The only negative feedback I heard was that carpets should be cleaned every 3-4 months. We’ve only been here a week, but my mom’s apartment is clean and nice. Everyone I’ve met is friendly and uses the residents' names, showing they genuinely care. Check back with me in six months for an update!

"One Week Review: Safe and Caring Place"
After being told my mom needed too much help at another local assisted living facility because she needed a nurse to give her meds twice a day, my siblings and I spent a whole day visiting other places in town. I wouldn't recommend any other place to anyone. I think my mom is in a safe, caring place. I've talked to other family members of residents who have been there for 2.5 to 3 years, and they are happy with it so far. Only one person mentioned that the carpets should be cleaned in the apartments every 3-4 months. We've only been here a week, and my mom's apartment is very lovely and clean. Everyone I've met has a smile on their face and speaks to all the residents by name. They seem very compassionate and genuine. Check back with me in 6 months, and hopefully, I'll have more great things to say.

"Impressive Assisted Living Facility Boasts Many Amenities, but Small Rooms"
The Assisted Living community is quite striking with loads of extras. However, the rooms are a bit small. The largest room, at 18X20, runs for $3200 a month.
