"Unhappy residents, pushy staff at rundown assisted living facility"

I wasn't too thrilled with my recent walk-through of this place. The whole building seems like it needs a heap of fixing up, and the residents didn't look too happy. (Most of them were snoozing in the lobby when I was there.) The workers I bumped into weren't all smiles, and they seemed clearly annoyed with one elderly man who struggled to rise from his chair. The lady showing me around didn't even tell me the cost, but pressured me to seal the deal immediately. This isn't a place I'd pick for someone I care about.

"Disappointing Visit To Unimpressive Assisted Living Home"

I visited this home in hopes of finding a secure spot for my mom after she had a stroke. The building's exterior was crumbling and dirty. The woman who was meant to guide me through my visit totally "forgot" and had to hurriedly come meet me. I noticed that the staff looked super stressed, and one worker was yelling and clearly lost his temper with a patient while I was there. The woman who guided me through my visit was dodgy about how much it would cost for my mom to stay there and I never got a clear answer. All throughout my visit, the residents just sat in chairs in the lobby, most of them snoozing. It was a sad place. I picked a different home for my mom and I'm happy I didn't waste more time here.

"Disappointed Visit Reveals Unhappy Staff, Residents at Assisted Living Facility"

I visited this establishment while hunting for a suitable spot for my mom. The reality was a stark contrast to what pictures and descriptions displayed. The exterior of the building was in a sorry state, while I had to stand at the main entrance for quite a while before being allowed inside. It was disheartening to notice several residents idly sitting around, a majority of whom were dozing off in the reception area. Particularly striking was a scene where a caregiver displayed annoyance towards another resident in the cafeteria, all the while raising their voice during my visit. Everyone from staff members to patients appeared to be burdened and unhappy, respectively. Seeing these circumstances, I decided to continue my search until eventually finding another home where my mom is now content.

"Facility Offers Security, Lacks Engaging Activities for Residents."

This place is nice, but it didn't have as many fun things for the residents to do as the other places we checked out. We only visited once, so this is just what we think. It's really safe here, though, which is good. It's just not what we're looking for.

"Still a Friendly Place with Nice Rooms and Helpful Staff"

Today was my first visit. Her room is really nice. Everyone there was super helpful in showing me where to go and getting me in and out. I’ve had other neighbors and friends live here before, and even though it’s been a while, they’re still just as friendly.

"Staffing Concerns in Assisted Living Mom Engaging, but Short on Help"

Mom's doing fine. She's joining activities. But, seems like not enough staff here. Maybe it's normal though.

"Short-staffed, but okay."

Mom's doing fine. She joins activities, but staff seems short. Maybe it's common.

"Cozy and Consistent Care"

Choosing elder care is a personal decision. Our family picked Sterling House mainly because it's small and cozy. Bigger places often move their staff around, but Sterling House keeps the same staff with the residents, which is important to Dad. Everyone we talked to gave Sterling House high marks.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility Tour"

We visited but left quickly. Saw residents on sofas, smelled urine, tiny rooms. Asked about painting, got a no. Not our choice.

"Quick Visit, Unimpressed with Assisted Living Facility"

We visited for a look around, but we didn't linger. As soon as we stepped inside, there were about six to eight residents just lounging around on couches. It smelled strongly of urine and the rooms were too snug. I even inquired if they would freshen the room's paint before a new resident moved in, but they declined. This place wasn't our cup of tea.

"Caring Community with a Food Flair"

We’ve had a great experience at Sterling House. It’s clean, with friendly staff who go the extra mile for residents. The food is also excellent, although we did encounter one unprofessional staff member during a family visit.

"Satisfied with Sterling House, except for one staff issue"

We really like Sterling House. It's a neat and clean place. The food is great too! They make sure the meals have everything we need, and there's lots of different choices. Most of the staff are really good at their jobs. Especially the ones who work closely with the residents - they're awesome! They do little things to make everyone feel comfortable. But, we did have a problem with one staff member who was rude to a family member visiting.
