"A Messy Experience: Can't Recommend This Facility"
My mom was at this place for a bit in here. It was a total mess! I can't suggest this place to anyone. Investigate for yourself. Check the Indiana Social Services files and then decide.

"Nice place, but terrible communication and rude staff."
Based on our experience, the lack of communication with staff at Clarendale of Schererville prevents higher scores. We can't get answers or callbacks when needed about my mother's care. It's a nice place, but there's no communication if you have questions. Some of the nursing staff are very rude and arrogant. We pay extra for medications to be administered to our mother in assisted living. However, getting any information is extremely hard.

"Supportive environment with varied activities, improving meal experiences; good value."
You should strongly support your loved one here. Be around often. I'd say this for any place my mom stayed. They hired a new nursing director, a good move. There are lots of enjoyable activities for memory care, but they should involve more residents. A new staff member in this area is lively and supportive. Special occasion meals, like Mother's Day, are excellent. Overall, it's a good deal.

"Deceptive Appearance at Assisted Living Facility"
We moved into a nice independent living unit in August 2021. After three weeks, we decided to move out. Most employees try their best, but they can't overcome the lack of staff and miscommunication between departments. The food is great some days but barely edible on others. Housekeeping was nonexistent despite promises from management. Maintenance requests mostly went unanswered. The facility looks nice, but appearances can be deceiving. If you enjoy disappointment, you'll love it here.

"Great Community at Clarendale of Schereville"
Our community is great overall. Some areas need improvement, but the employees are respectful. I love living here, and my neighbors are wonderful.

"Positive Experience"
The time here has been positive, even though my loved one's health is getting worse. The staff has been great—very helpful, understanding, and attentive. The community is always super clean and well taken care of. When my loved one feels like eating, the food is good.

"Brand New Facility with Potential, but Initial Problems Galore"
Clarendale of Schererville just opened, and I became their first resident. However, I have been dealing with a range of problems with the facility, most notably things continuously breaking. Despite persistently reminding them, it took staff three weeks to repair my front door lock. On a positive note, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The facility also provides two impressive dining areas with food that tastes great, though occasionally a bit too spicy. The management permits pets in the facility as well, adding warmth to the atmosphere. Clarendale has just begun featuring an activities program. Though it's just starting, it already includes games and encourages interaction between all the residents. Transportation is one less worry here, as they provide a shuttle bus service for doctor's appointments, shopping trips, and other outings. Moreover, they've taken health care a step further by bringing in external nurses for residents requiring additional support.

"Chose Another Place: Too Large and Not All-Inclusive"
This is a pretty good assisted living facility! But when we had to pick a place for my mom, it wasn't ready to open for a couple more weeks, so we couldn't move her in then. The place for folks with memory issues was small and seemed nice. The whole place, though, was really big. In the end, we didn't put my mom here because it's so big and they didn't include everything in their price.
