"Caring and Safe Assisted Living"

Our experience has been great at Digby. The staff welcomed my mom, gave her time to adjust, and ensured her safety and well-being in this secure community.

"Family-friendly community with activities and welcoming atmosphere; highly recommended."

We had a good time at Digby Place. It felt like a big family as soon as we arrived. Everyone is friendly. There are activities and meals to help residents socialize. Overall, we'd recommend this community for loved ones.

"Smaller facility with attentive staff provides individualized, recommended care."

The facility's smaller size and friendly staff stood out positively. Management and nurses are approachable and attentive, providing individualized care without rushing residents. Recommended if it meets your needs.

"Overpriced Digby Place: Dirty, Unsafe, and Serving Unhealthy Food"

Digby Place was the priciest place we checked out, but it was also seriously unclean. The floors were unswept and stained with grime. The director took us around and tripped on a metal plate right in the center of the hallway- that's a major accident waiting to happen. They showed us the dining area and mentioned the menu had hot dogs for dinner, which isn't a healthy meal at all.

"Positive experience with friendly staff, excellent care, and great value."

Everyone we met was friendly, and the care services were excellent. Our mother loved the meals, and we appreciated the location and community size. The value was great.

"Great place, but needs better food"

We picked Digby Place because it was a smaller community than others we saw and close to family. The room sizes here are just right. Our only complaint is the food; it definitely needs improvement. The meals were like institutional food and not very tasty. I would tell others that the administration was very easy to work with and very accommodating to our family. The CNAs were very loving and compassionate as well. I would recommend it as long as the food gets better.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Costs and Quality"

Digby Place is alright, but the prices are kinda wild. At first, you pay one amount, but then it shoots up to nearly twice as much in just half a year. The cost really jumped up for us because they took over giving out the meds. The folks working there, like the nurses, are awesome. The meals are just fine, though my family member said they’re a bit bland. The room for my family member was pretty decent.

"Digby Assisted Living: Mixed Feelings"

I chose Digby for my sister, who has dementia at 71. They have a good mix of residents. Due to COVID, I couldn't visit in person or see my sister's apartment. Some staff are helpful, while others aren't. Once things open up, I'll get a better sense of the place. I hired a home health care person to spend time with my sister twice a week, which has helped her settle in.

"Cozy Rooms and Helpful Staff"

I really liked the rooms and the helpful info from [name removed]. I’ll definitely think about staying in Lafayette.

"Active and Safe, with Great Food and Clean Rooms"

Things are really lively at Digby for my sister. Sometimes it gets too busy, so it would be better if they watched the weather more to keep things safe. The apartment is clean and well kept. She is happy there, which makes her family feel good. The food is good too, thanks to a great kitchen team.

"Numerous Issues: Poor Staffing, Meal Shortcomings at Assisted Living Venue"

This place never has a steady chef for its residents. My dear buddy lives here and tends to return to her room still famished at least once each day. Whenever I visit, oftentimes, there's no receptionist at the front desk. They have just one nurse on staff to manage everybody's needs. It's been a while since there's been a supervisor, or anyone really, in command.

"Took a Tour, Clean, Friendly, Not What We Wanted"

I took a tour! Clean, friendly, but not what we wanted.

"Review: Digby Facility Clean Yet Crowded, Overpriced, and Uncomfortable"

My first impression of the Digby facility was that it felt more like a nursing home than an ideal assisted living place. The cleanliness seemed superficial. As we crossed the sticky dining room floor, I started scrutinizing things like the hall furniture. It was free of dust, but a closer inspection revealed a greyish coating, suggesting it was cleaned with a less-than-clean cloth. To my surprise, we were served lunch in the office instead of dining with residents, even though we had asked for this. Despite the beef stew being palatable, it didn’t look very appealing. The accommodations at Digby consist only of studio and one-bedroom, one-bathroom units. Comparatively, Digby's one-bedroom is smaller than the studio at Astor Place and pricier than Astor's two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. Care levels are more expensive at Digby and if you have a spouse, the additional fee is more than double. The main common area, located near the entrance and the dining area, was small and often crowded. Since residents often gathered there, it felt congested and uncomfortable for my mom, who has Parkinson's and easily loses her balance. On the bright side, the staff was warm and well-informed, and the residents seemed pleased with the facility. However, we didn't get a chance to interact with them. In conclusion, even though the residents seem content and the staff is friendly, due to Digby's high prices and cramped common areas, we'll continue looking for the next home for Mom and Dad.
