"Poor Communication and Care at Heritage Point"

Sadly, we had a very bad time with Heritage Point recently. They weren't talking to us much, and seemed to make decisions on their own. They seemed to think giving residents medicine without asking first was okay, especially when they were short on staff. I stumbled upon this when my dad had a fall and had to go to the hospital. No one was checking to see if the medicine was affecting him badly. I tried calling the Health Service Director a few times, but no one got back to me. Even after the nurse who prescribed the medicine (who wasn't at the place) said they were stopping it, they didn't. My dad's health got a lot worst and he passed away less than two weeks after they started the medication. He was only at the place for 61 days. Don't let the pretty building trick you, the care is not good there.

"Clean, Friendly Assisted Living Impresses, Location a Consideration"

Our family visited Heritage Point Transitional Assisted Living in person. It's super clean, with friendly staff and great organization. We were impressed, but the location on the far northside made it less convenient for us.

"Neglect and Mismanagement Lead to Mother's Decline in Assisted Living."

We moved our mother into this facility some time ago, thinking it was a premium establishment, but we were proven wrong. The turnover rate of the staff was alarmingly high. They falsely documented that my mother was getting her thyroid pills when she clearly wasn't. Imagine the shock when, three months after her medication was filled, we found out she still had 60 pills left. Despite constant inquiries by my sister and me, it was clear that her health was going downhill. Around this time, I brought in a new prescription and personally asked to inspect the remaining old one. To my surprise, there were still 50 pills in the bottle. So, how could a 90-day supply have 50 left after that duration? Our mother sadly passed away at this very facility. From the moment we entrusted our mother's care to them, I observed a gradual deterioration in her condition and an utter lack of proper management.

"Location a Barrier, Otherwise Impressed with Heritage Point"

We really liked our tour at Heritage Point. Everything we saw, like the building and the people working there, was great. The only problem for us was that it's too far away. We needed a place closer so we could visit more often and get there quickly.

"**Assisted Living Review**"

They've had a lot of staff changes since my loved one arrived. Only two staff members I trust, while others remain distant. The activity director recently left. Communication with staff is tough. Some nurses are difficult to talk to. They're strict about wording from the doctor's office. There's one amazing caregiver who keeps my loved one here. I was told there's a doctor, but it's actually a nurse practitioner. Despite the challenges, I'm hesitant to move my loved one.

"Compassionate Care in a Supportive Community"

The staff at the assisted living facility are really caring. It feels like a big family of staff, patients, and families. They've done a great job taking care of my aunt during a tough time, and I'm grateful to them.

"Community Falls Short on Care, Focused on Payments"

The place only allowed window visits. The staff never helped my loved one eat, even though they had a vision problem. When we mentioned specific details about my loved one, the community denied knowing them. We had to ask why my loved one had food on themselves. They promised care, but it seemed like their main concern was our payment.

"Good care despite COVID, clean community from outside."

We think our loved one received good care despite COVID restrictions. The community looked clean from the outside; we only saw the front lobby.

"Taking good care of Dad"

My dad is settling in well here. The community is nice, clean, and his apartment is just right for him. They keep him busy, and there's a lovely courtyard in the center that is secure, plus a walking path for residents. Dad likes going to the dining room, and they even have a private family dining area, which is nice. I am very happy with the staff and how they care for my dad. Eventually, my dad's wife will join him here after her surgery.

"Improve Social Interaction for Residents"

My mom lived here, but I wasn't very happy with the place. It's a memory care facility, and I felt like I put her in an institution. They didn't offer or suggest physical therapy for her. She wasn't interacting much—just existing. They'd get her ready for the day, and it seemed like she was only eating and sitting. They could make it better by improving the social aspect for residents.

"Attentive Care for Mom"

My mom receives excellent care. The RNs are attentive, and they promptly address any issues. She's always well-dressed and clean.
