"Assisted Living Facility: Room for Improvement"
The water is from a well, not the city. Ants are sprayed for in resident rooms due to kitchen ants. Emergency pull chains only in resident bathrooms. Some rooms have walk-in showers, most have high-step tubs. Windows in resident rooms are hard to open. Basic cable with very few channels. Night front desk staff not friendly. Hallways often smell of animal pee/poop. Residents don't clean animal feces outside. Limited outside seating. Washer/dryer room has inconvenient hours. Need newer/more machines. Difficult building access after 7 pm. Outdated sign-in/out sheet. Staff administers medications, no defibrillator on premise. Staff has keys to every room, no hallway cameras. Emergency lights failed once, no handrails along hallways. Carb-heavy food, slow dining service. Not enough kitchen/wait staff. Bland breakfast, often out of stock. Mostly sugary snacks. Loud lobby TV, staff encourages leaving by 8 pm. Chilly lobby, 72 degrees year-round. Busing service limited, few outings and activities.

"Peaceful Assisted Living Brings Joy to Families"
I visited last summer, and my parents have been there for a year. They're really happy, and I feel they're safe.

I was searching for a place for my mom, and a friend recommended Oak Woods because their mom lives there. We checked it out, liked it a lot, and decided to move my mom in.
