"Care Concerns Amidst Daily Visits"
Things are a bit better now. Still, when I go see my mom each day, there have been times she smelled like pee, and once, she was even sitting in her poop. It seemed like she’d been that way for a while. This happened during the COVID times. I was so upset about how my mom looked that I forgot to put on my mask and went straight to tell someone about it. I bumped into the person who runs the activities, but instead of helping my mom, she just told me off for not wearing a mask. That really stuck with me. Every single day, I was there to see my mom, and they knew it, but she was still not taken care of right. I keep thinking, what if I hadn’t been there so much? What then?

"Cleanliness concerns addressed, cooperative staff"
I noticed my mom wasn't clean and had to remind them. They forgot to brush her dentures once too. Keep an eye on things. Staff is cooperative and open.

"Great Food, Incredible Director!"
We enjoy the community's location and appearance, but communication and medicine distribution need improvement. The chef's food is fantastic, and the activities director is incredible—she deserves 10 stars!

"Mixed Experience at Settlers Place Assisted Living"
Settlers Place is a really friendly spot to be. The room was nice, and the food was really good. However, some promises from the brochure weren't kept. My dad never got a TV in his room, and they didn't pick up his laundry. We had to do it ourselves. Despite these issues, Settlers is a nice place to stay. I had to call Comcast myself, and they said no one had requested TV hookup for my dad. It's confusing because Settlers told me they reached out to Comcast.

"Incompetent management fosters poor care and staff layoffs"
About time the main company noticed what's been going on here ever since two people got into management. They had no clue how to manage the place and ended up firing all the good staff. These folks knew their jobs well, but the new bosses didn't understand the first thing about how to look after people - be it staff or residents.

"Review of Settlers Place in La Porte, IN"
The facility is super clean, really professional, and they assist residents in every possible way. They're very polite to everyone who visits.
