"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The assisted living facility recently changed ownership, and the transition hasn't been very smooth. It seems they're understaffed, which might be a temporary issue. I've had to remind the staff to dispose of soiled incontinence products, resulting in a strong odor in the apartment. On the positive side, the food is good, and the staff is friendly and caring toward my loved one.

"Great Nurses and Happy Dad: Recommended Assisted Living Facility"
The nurses here are really good. We had some problems with the cleaners, but it looks like they're fixed now. My Dad is picky about food, but he likes the meals here. I think others would like this place too.

"Mixed experience: Good sales, poor follow-through, improving staff relations"
The sales part was nice, and we were happy about bringing mom here. But, she never got the proper introduction, and some of her health issues weren't taken care of. Messages we sent to different staff members didn't reach them. Many things were promised but not done. The boss seems really busy and doesn't answer emails well. It's been hard, but mom is getting used to it, and we're getting better responses after talking directly to the healthcare director. Most of the staff are friendly and are getting to know mom well. The leaders need to do better. The place is pretty, and the location is great. If you're thinking about coming here, make sure you get all your questions answered first!

"Outstanding Care with a Positive Attitude"
My 86-year-old mom has been getting excellent care since the new director and her team took over at Anthology of Meridian Hills. Her care is outstanding, and she is treated with sensitivity and dignity. The staff always has a "sure, we can do that" attitude and a smile. I highly recommend this place without any reservations.

"Disappointment in Memory Care Home's New Management"
Our Experience with this Memory Care Home is Disappointing" I'm not happy with this Memory Care Home. When we first moved our dear one into the home back in , everything was perfect! But, all started going sour when the new Director, , arrived in . She's really not a good person and is unfit to be an executive director. I am rating this facility 1 out of 5 in every aspect! I advise against entrusting your loved ones to this facility's care.

"Shady Director Destroys Reputable Assisted Living Facility's Standards"
The service at this assisted living place stinks. I wish I could give this place a big fat '0' for being friendly, taking care of its people, having good staff, and giving enough bang for your buck. Especially this new boss lady - she doesn't even give a hoot about what I have to say. You should know I visit my mom almost every day, so I see a lot. Mom can't do much on her own, only walk. But say she needs help getting off the he or into bed, these people just leave her there forever. They're also bad about answering when someone needs something. Now, I will totally give credit to the handful of staff who are great at their job. But the whole place would run better if they'd just work together. Like, they keep moving the nurses around which annoys the socks off of everyone. It’s not like some huge places that have separate units. The nurses gotta keep up with different people’s needs and it's the same story for the people living there. They all end up totally mixed up on how to get along. If they'd just stick with a nurse, it’d help everyone bond better. But it seems like the older folks here feel that ship has sailed. The nursing station is usually empty, especially at night. It’s real sad when there are good ones who work hard and genuinely care. But then, there's this night nurse who's always pitching a fit, yells at mom, and acts mean. My mom usually takes one Vicodin a day but can take every 8 hours if she needs it. But this nurse refuses to give her the Vicodin and forces Tylenol. My mom complained to me about it. I had her see our family doctor to get it sorted out. And no, my mom is not trying to game the system. She just wants what the doctor orders and as her daughter, I want to make sure she gets it. This new director lady has jacked up the prices, cut back on how much staff they have, the food is bad now, and lots more. They've got the whole place headed in the wrong direction and I'm curious on how long they'll stay afloat before running out of money or worse. If my sister hadn’t messed things up, I’d move mom to a different place in a heartbeat. A lot of people who’ve been here a while are thinking the same and the hallways are buzzing with complaints. The director made me call my mom's attorney out of the blue and claimed we hadn’t paid them a dime. She also tried to hike up the cost because my mom uses oxygen. But that was not new information. Now she's tacking on more because mom's got some sores on her legs. They don’t even provide care for those – I do! This lady in charge thinks she can change stuff at her will and is ruining this place’s good reputation, all to save a buck. And the patients aren’t exactly seeing any benefits from these so-called improvements. It’s also pretty obvious that they don't have enough staff. I bet they're on the verge of bankruptcy and instead of improving the quality of care, food, services, etc. the nursing staff are overwhelmed and mad, taking it out on the others. Anyway, thanks for hearing me out. It’s scary how fast things can go bad and as a relative or caregiver, you’re just not prepared for it.

"Inadequate Memory Care and Understaffed at Assisted Living Facility"
The memory care here is simply not good enough. Please know that my review isn't about the nursing home. The employees are sometimes threatening family members if they think the patient's behavior is too challenging. While there are some really great nurses and staff, they're so understaffed that they struggle taking care of all the residents".

"Inadequate Staff and Care at Assisted Living Facility Leads to Tragedy"
Anthology used to be great until they got a new management team in the past year. Now, it's terrible. They don't have enough staff and use temporary workers who aren’t trained properly. The criticism from the previous review about how they deal with Alzheimer's is on point. My husband and I received many promises but they seemed unable to handle my father-in-law’s condition. They made unclear suggestions that he might be expelled. We had to switch hospice agencies and were shocked when the new agency found him dirty, and suffering. Both his parents were staying there but we were forced to move my mother-in-law after many falls and the requirement of hiring an independent assistant. She was not being cared for properly. The last straw was when they mistakenly sent another person to the new facility where we were transferring my mother-in-law! The new management disappoints me. Even though my father-in-law passed away, the staff in the memory care unit seemed clueless about it; they even asked us if we had his permission before we took his stuff out of the room. So far, we haven't received any sympathy from the head of the facility - he only called to ask where we wanted a refund check sent, with no condolences. I strongly advise against entrusting this facility with your loved ones.

"Poor Hygiene and Inadequate Memory Care at Assisted Living Facility"
My dad stayed at this place during the summer. We eventually moved him to a different place where the staff has training to care for people with memory problems. While some of the nurses and CNAs were really good, others weren't very patient with my dad. When we transferred him to his new place, his stuff from Anthology was given to us covered in pee and poop. I hope this place either improves their training on memory care or stops pretending they offer it.
